Who else HATES Gears 2?

So the fanboyism has gotten to such desperate times, you have to try and recruit haters now? You figure if you campaign enough, you'll turn everyone else around to your way of thinking?

totally generic, poorly designed trash. i hate the series with a passion. played about halfway through gears2 and said **** it, i've got better things to do, like maybe slowly chewing off my own arm because thats about as fun as that game was. i honostly somehow enjoyed the first more than the craptacular 2nd, somehow...

i really REALLY hope gears isn't supposed to replace halo as MSs number 1. gears can't hold a ******* candle to anything halo related. hell, gears isn't fit to smell halos farts...

The Gears series is shallow and overexposed. I fell into hype when the first rolled out, only to find out it was nothing special. Truly an overrated series but I dont hate it. I just hate how it games like this overshadow titles that deserve just as much spotlight.

Its single player is awesome and its well worth the price of admission with horde and co op mode

but the mp can use some fine tuning

Its amazing how Cows will say Gears 2 is repetative yet they will praise Resistance 2 despite it being arena shootout to arena shoot out

I did not hate it, it was boring and linear/repeatitive like all shooters, so like all shooters, i rented it and did have some cool monster moments

So, why hate a game that did not buy ? If i bought it i would hate it for lasting only 8 hours, that is why i would never ever buy any shooter like Gears 2, Killzone 2 etc

That's debatable, McMeanie...

Uncharted already has better character model detail over gears 2, while Gears 2 has more of those detail textures...but even those are debatable since Uncharted has very nice detail textures of the same detail.

Do I hate the game? No.

Do I think that it has a very small improvment over the first? Pretty much.

Do I think it's overrated? Hell yes.

I see what you're saying, but do the MP portion of shooters interest you at all? That's were the true value lies, especially this generation.

I was always a single player gamer myself, considering also that in PS1-PS2 and old PC days it was all about SP gaming, it is no strange that i consider multiplayer a watse of my time and a totally sub par experience

I would rather do other things than play any kind of multiplayer, i only like co-op in single player, that is nice to have and i played both LBP and Fable 2 lately co-op for a while, it is fun alright, but takes away a lot from the core single player gaming experience, at least in Fable 2, since LBP is not that huge on a story or anything

Generally i never play multipler only modes in games or fully online only games, i find it boring for what i consider best in gaming, 2 player co-op is nice to have and i try it when i can, but that is as far as my multiplayer experiences go, and will remain like that probably

Frankly i hate that this generation is about online, that mentality probably has destroyed many games single player experiences to various extends, and what they could have been without it

And all the above are some of the reasons i love RPG's most of all, that focus on the SP gaming mostly and the main reason i love my 360 above any other of my gaming systems, of course i like huge open worlds and variety in gameplay too, which only RPG's can offer

I enjoyed playing the SP in coop with my GF, the MP is unplayable, and the graphics were a HUGE dissapointment, the game still looks great, but lemmings are always throwing those bullshots around I actually thought it looked like that. MGS4 looks way better then Gears 2, it's a lot more polished, more polygons, more detail, better animation etc.Eddie-Vedder

I liked it. Not as much as I liked the first game, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. I don't really understand all of the forum hate for this game. It has nothing wrong with it really, other than it's massively popular, which seems to be a horrible sin these days.jim_shorts
