Single player is awesome and campaign coop with a friend on Insane difficulty is good too and pretty challenging. Multiplayer though is frustrating. The matchmaking is still horrible and slow. Game still lags at moments when its not even my connection that is lagging. And its still a shotgun fest. If I had to design the multiplayer, I would make the shotgun a gun you had to find and didn't start with. Maybe the multiplayer would be more fun then. Plus no one talks. More people talk in COD4 and Halo 3 than Gears 2. Hell more people talked in Gears 1. The only time you will catch me online for now on will be if I'm playing with buddies but they don't even really play Gears 2 anymore. Epic better get on their horse and fix the multiplayer because its real boring and frustrating. Yes I'm ranting too cause I needed to vent after last night. Plus what was up with releasing a map pack already that costs 10 dollars. I refuse to buy a map pack this early. I'll wait till it becomes free.

Srsly? its nothing but a frag and chainsaw fest when it comes to online, since the shotgun is pretty much broken..tho the 2 peice is effective..many people play it safe. Considering how the shotgun has been weakened i don't see why you wouldn't have them start without a shotty. Anyways Since the online sucks atm, Gear 2 IMO is all about horde mode thats da*n fun.

Horde mode is fun but after a while, I get tired of playing against the AI and I want to play against human players. They definitely upgraded the chainsaw as well and yea the shotgun is weakened but everyone still uses it. There is no weapon balance in this game. It's the most unbalanced game I've played in a while. Its a shame too because its a fairly new game and I resort back to a 2007 game to get my online fix which is Halo 3. I don't know how Epic messed up the multiplayer. You'd think Microsoft would have Epic work with bungie on making a great multiplayer component to the game.

clearly. Wii games aren't games? According to them they aren't but I do enjoy games like MOH: Heroes 2, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda: Twilight Princess, SMG, SSBB on the Wii.

lol, MGS4 craps all over Gears 2 in terms of character models, only thing gears 2 excels at is textures...(again) MGS4 also has a ton going on on screen in some levels and areas, the draw distance is also very impressive. They achieved that lowering the resolution and no having AA on the game..and Geow2 stills more impressive technically and pushes a lot more than MGS4. I have MGS4 and there are hardly any jaggies at all, the textures are pretty good and tyhe draw distance is good. its hard to say wehich looks best, MGS4 does everything to an above average standard, whilst gears 2 has brilliant textures but everything else is close to average.

They achieved that lowering the resolution and no having AA on the game..and Geow2 stills more impressive technically and pushes a lot more than MGS4.you know, from a graphical standpoint mgs4 looks alot more impressive to me. i could care less about texture this and that, taken as a whole mgs4 looks cleaner, crisper, and far more polished. honostly though, graphics only take a game so far. mgs4 is BY FAR the better game of the 2. it amazes me that ppls expectations are so low that gears seems to be the best game out as an exclusive 360 title. i can think of plenty more exclusives that blow that pile away. epic doesn't deserve half the praise they get. on another note, do you really think ppl would love gears so much if it didn't look so great? honostly? because the gameplay is garbage...
I didn't really like the first one, traded it in before I even beat it (mp was terrible imo). I think the same can be said for Resistance too. I thought the first one was incredibly boring and the story was more predictable then Obama winning the election.
I think the lesson we can all learn today is that overhyped games will be the death of all of us.
I agree. I got left 4 dead, that game is amazing, has a more creepy atmosphere and is a lot more fun. Play it with friends its great and the AI will change each time. Gears is lame in comparison. I really hate all the underground cave areas too,...all look the same.
I really don't see why everyone hates Gears 2. It is one of the best shooters out, and the single player mode is great with both its story and gameplay. The multiplayer is fun, and really does not have as many glitches as people claim it has. However, I haven't played Gears 1, which may be why I like it so well.
