[QUOTE="razgriz_101"][QUOTE="Shielder7"] Yeah ok whatever buddy, when your argument fails just say it's different in the "Real World" Where things are so bad they got rid of their CEO.PurpleMan5000
have you actually looked at the state of the world economy right now, that plays a big role in peoples buying habits people are buying less luxuries and games, although he's made a few silly decisionsover his tenure much like Wada and Kotick CEO's are basically just overpaid targets for all the flak the company takes despite them not always being the sole decisions maker.

The world economy doesn't seem to be affecting Activision much. Small indie games seem to be making a resurgence as well, while companies that that place an emphasis on treating their customers like criminals (EA, THQ, Capcom) are all bankrupt or doing terribly. Maybe used games aren't the problem after all, and people are just tired of online pass and garbage day 1 dlc.

At the same time acti have took less risks this gen, CoD is a massive cash cow and so is Skylanders, Acti Bliz alone relies off the IP's everyone clamours to outside those IP's what is really big at activision look at earlier this gen where they canned a LOT of games purely on the basis of profitability.

Activision are just more shrewd and taking less risks, EA's taking risks although those risks dont bode well with everyone but easily ignorable to most of us sane people.

What people need to remember Activision is essentially the EA that was last gen, this gen.

Um No EA being a complete dick to everyone is not taking a risk, well it is but not in the sense you're thinking. But by all means please list the risks EA has bravely ventured out and taken upon themselves.

i dont think you understood what i meant by risks in the whole sense, online passes and microtransactions in games of their type can be seen as risks in a buisness sense. But they had Mirrors edge this gen, Skate was a perfect evolution of skateboarding games and insanely innovative mind you i doubt you'll have played skate the first one is the most unforgiving game ever much like the sport itself but highly rewarding.

Oh I understand you I just don't agree with it. Mirrors edge came out in 2007 and Skate was hardly a risk. EA has in fact done the opposite of taking risks and have decided to buy up and bleed franchises for everything they're worth. EA doesn't create IPs they just buy them up and run them into the ground that's not taking risks.

I'm not really boycotting them, they just haven't released anything I want to buy. I'm not a sports fan, I'm waiting for the re-release of the Mass Effect trilogy with all the DLC on disc (you know it's comming), and eventhough I want to play Sim City, I have no interest in paying for a broken product or having them brick my account and all the games I could have bought on origin because I went through My Credit card company to get a refund. It's not about hating or punishing EA, it's about being a smart consumer or paying attention to the "buyer beware" clause.

Mirror's Edge was great. That was also 5 or 6 years ago. I liked what EA was doing at the beginning of this gen. They haven't done anything but abandon promising ip's, avoid creating new ip's and run their remaining ip's into the ground since then. They are also incredibly anti-consumer. I don't like Activision, either, but they deliver a product that their fans want without treating those fans like criminals, and they profit greatly for it.

I support the developer, not the publisher.  Anybody who boycotts EA is doing more harm than good to the industry.  Obviously some games I understand (like Sim City), but EA owns some genuinly good developers, and their work deserves to be supported.

Wrong, anybody who supports EA is doing more harm than good to the industry.  You say you support EA to support the deveopers?  Want me to list for you throughout the years how many top-tier developers EA has acquired only to gut them and make them shells of themselves?  Maxis being the latest casuality.  Or how they're turning their games into MT-centric fests?  Or how terrible their consumer practices are?  You support the developers, you are directly supporting EA, and the industry suffers more as a result.  Anything they touch is pretty much guaranteed to slowly decline in quality.

Boycotting won't get you anywhere. Let's not forget you also won't be buying the developers' games, which don't decide on what is paid DLC and all that stuff. By all means, don't pay a penny for DLC and micro-transactions, I don't like it either. Point is, the biggest money they get are from the casuals. These people take everything for granted.

Wall run: $5

Sprint: $5

Many others, for the bargain price of $49!!!  Hey, sounds like a deal compared to paying $1 per clip in FPSes.  I'm looking forward to hearing their next brainstorm.

It's easy to boycott EA when they barely release anything worth playing. I think the last EA game I bought was Dragon Age 2, as a joke during an accidental sales mishap. Before that, it was Mass Effect 2. That's quite a few years of dull relesses from the big bad corp.

True, but for Ninty, it's not that big of a deal for EA in particular (third party support in general is another story though), considering EA never really had a base on Nintendo consoles (outside of two movie/novel licenses on the GameCube), not even on the highly regarded SNES (Genesis/MegaDrive is widely preferred in North America and Europe, while SNES had Japan).

Nope not interested in any of that. Looking forward to NHL 14 and BF 4. Great failed atempt though. NHL series only advances in quality with each iteration so you really don't have a clue about what you're talking about. Oh that's right, why would you have a clue when you don't play EA games, duh! Nobody cares about opinions based on a lack of knowledge, so chew on that for a bit.

[QUOTE="Shielder7"][QUOTE="jessejay420"]"me and 5 other kids are gonna boycott EA!! " "we're gonna make a difference!! " "6 copies of EA games that are just sitting on walmart shelves represent us!! " "please join us.please!! " get real :lol:percuvius2

Looking at the poll it's more like 53 people with another 29 on the side lines. With EAs losing money 32% is nothing to sneer at.

You look at poll's while the smart people look at sales, deal?

Deal. Keep in mind that the only reason Activision dropped on the chart was a split in their stocks. They are actually worth more than double their price at the beginning of the chart today. That is not the case for poor EA (-62.85%).

I rarely buy their games, and I don't think I will for a while. I'm not boycotting, it's just their games that aren't good enough.

I am not boycotting them. Because they simply don't make a lot of games I want to play. I only bought the Mass Effect Trilogi and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 from EA so far.

Don't care, I'll be buying BF4 and ME4 when they release, still need to buy Dead Space 3 as well when it gets cheaper.

EA has always been this way. Hated them when I was a kid and nothing has changed since except they now have more ways to exploit consumers. It's the same as when Activision started charging $15 for map packs. For every one person 'protesting' 10 more will shell out for their games/dlc. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

Don't care much for many EA games, and their business practices are atrocious, so yeah, I don't buy their shit. I have 10 games on Origin, every one of them I got for free by exploiting their promo code glitch a while back (didn't even have an origin account before that). Even at the price of $0, every one of those games except for Mass Effect 1 and 2 were disappointing, to the point that I could barely bring myself to finish them, and in some cases, didn't finish them. Crysis 3 and Mass Effect 3 are the only EA games on my radar I'm even remotely interested in, and I may pick them up when they can be had for $10 or less.Â
