IMO its theSpartans ofHalo, those guys, any odds, no matter the risk or number of the enemies or danger however great. they get the job done and are completely fearless! my hats off to you spartsns. you make the universe a better place!

I don't get of all the super soldier archtypes they would pick Spartans.. Pretty much a painfully stereotypical one that by and large wears motocross gear.. Where the Space Marines from Warhammer 40k are far more interesting imo due to mulitple things that break from the stereotype.

agreed, Jack is the very definition of bad ass
Ridick was very bad ass in Butcher Bay. But in Dark Athena he was almost comical. I think the quality of the writing has something to do with that. Every dialogue he has is like reading from a fortune cookie.Riddick

Kratos comes to mind. Visceral, ruthless, powerhouse, a depressed and whiney psychopath in his own right, but in a bad-ass way. Mowing through foes with moves leaving anyone limbless. Definition of bad-ass. Could have picked someone, smart, clever, thoughtful, tactical, cool and yet still badass. However - Kratos is just STRAIGHT badass. So he wins.icygangsta
THAT right there is why Kratos will never be a badass. :P (ESPECIALLY after what he did at the end of III.)
Also, I can't believe no one mentioned THE DUKE yet. :x
He doesn't need to be emo, or cry, or whine, etc. All he needs to do is kill and make one-liners. 8)
