Who is most awesome lady protagonist system wise (POLL)?

as much as I love Metroid I would never vote for Samus because she doesn't even has a personality, she's literally a blank slate that just happen to look like a woman but she could be a man and there would be no difference. And when they tried to give her a personality in Other M it was a disempowering one.

Awesome female characters to me there are few of them and are the ones that are always mentioned like Jade from Beyond Good & Evil, Ellie from Last of Us or Chell from Portal.

• Fei-Yen (Virtual On)
• Sarah Bryant (Virtua Fighter)
• Alisia (Alisia Dragoon)

Pure Fantasy:

• Saskia the Dragonslayer. Badass warrior that transforms into a fire breathing dragon. She basically roflstomp Geralt at The Witcher 2 prologue.

Fantasy and Sci-Fi Mashup

• Lightning. Do I even need to explain? From a simple soldier, she ascended into a God.

Pure Sci-Fi

• Samus Aran tied with ME femme characters (Miranda, Liara, Jack, Samara, etc.). Just like what Gue1 said, Samus has no true personality which is a huge minus for her.

A blank slate from Super Metroid, and prime games?? Does not sound like you know metroid very well. There are people on here who have described Samus's personality and compared it to Other M.

I voted for Bayo I find her the best female of all gaming.

Of the ones in the poll, I'm glad Samus is winning. My choice though is Faith Connors from Mirror's Edge.

April Ryan by a good margin. Zoe Castillo is legit too.

Samus is cool when she keeps her mouth shut, because some people say she's a dumb bitch in Other M, but I think she's also a dumb bitch in Metroid Fusion. Nintendo's attempts at giving her a "personality" are actually pretty shitty characterizations. Kai from Velocity 2x is what that character should be more like, and that's by an independent studio.

Kate Archer is dope, as is Jade from Beyond Good and Evil, and Bayonetta is awesome but I'd still roll with April Ryan.

Everyone complains about her role in Other M and her being "weak" and "whiny" and whatever, but it just expands her personality and makes her seem more human.
