[QUOTE="AntiType"]What exaclty do you guys call a revolution? Tell me... if MS and Sony incorperate the mechanics of the wii mote to their next gen (or current via addon) Did Nintendo not make a new standard? What wil your little gamer children see when they take history lesson. They will see that games were controled by digital pads and anolog sticks at one point. Then the Wii came and after then.. controls were never the same... yup that was a revolution. I will go so far to say that there will be even a speaker in Sony's iand MS's next controller.Brown52

I do not call the Wii a revolution. You can say the wiimote is innovative if you want. But it has done nothing to revolutionize gaming.

We wernt able to swing at a ball before now were we? We were limited to pressing a button.

This is my point. Sheep praised the wiimote for the idea that it was going to revolutionze gaming by making you feel like you are part of the game. I've played wiisports, in no way do you feel like you actually swinging at a ball. You don't even get to move your character around. He runs around till he gets close to the ball, and you flick the wiimote. There isn't any great control over your swing, you flick the wiimote and it plays an annimation. And the rest of the wii's crappy features don't help me to feel like I'm in the game either. Unless I was a stick figure I guess..

I feel closer to the game... Im standing infront the the tv and swinging and hitting the balls. I even feel the implact when I hit it and the wiimote rumbles. Ive played tennis games before where I sat and pressed a buttons... they did not hold my interest at all.

1. Wii has. I am "into" my games at a whole new level and that is revolutionary.

2. I really don't think you want me to list the >4.0 games the 360 has, because there are more of them then the Wii has.

Gimli524

Well , lets do that shall we and with Gamespot reviews just for fun :

19 for Wii

Only 2 for the 360

Well we are talking about videogames, arnt we? yes arcades were able to have a control scheme that was suited for a single action... the wiimote is able to do much more then that. And in Wii Sports.... I swing. AntiType

It's up to your vivid imagination then, not really the Wiimote doing anything. I mean, I could take a stick and say I'm swinging at a ball and imagine it as well as the fans and the stadium and... you get where I'm going?

Press a button and imagine you're swinging a ball (the graphics help).

A game like Crysis makes you feel like you're living in the world, that's what video games are suppose to do. The wiimote just tries to compensate graphical immersiveness with a gimmick and your imagination.

there no imagination... the swing is properly actioned in the game. I could be sitting down and flicking... but its certainly less accurate and even a little awkward... I might as well be pressing a button then. Standing and swing is the way it was meant to be played... despite nintendo saying otherwise to avoid lawsuits.

Bu..But significant improvements in graphics/AI/effects/physics adds nothing to the realism that the wiimote does

no its not, the accuracy is the same. I'm actually better on the couch at bowling than I am when I litterally go through the motions.

I think the concept of the Wii is a great idea. It gives gamers more interaction with the game. However, I think it fell short. The Wiimote has terrible latency issues and the fact that the graphics are so dated, kills some of the enthusiasm when participating in a game.At least for me anyway.

The Wii didn't revolutionize gaming. It just made it more accessible.

This is my point. Sheep praised the wiimote for the idea that it was going to revolutionze gaming by making you feel like you are part of the game. I've played wiisports, in no way do you feel like you actually swinging at a ball. You don't even get to move your character around. And the rest of the wii's crappy features don't help me to feel like I'm in the game either. Unless I was a stick figure I guess..

Brown52

Um, did we play the same Wii Sports? All of the minigames have 1:1 synchronized control. Did you try messing around with the remote before swinging? It does whatever you do, like exactly.

Anyway, so far the Wii-bashing in this thread has taken the form of either denying that the Wii has dramatically changed things when it obviously has, altering the definition of "Revolution" to somehow exclude dramatic change when it can no longer be denied, or basically resorting to "yes, its a Revolution, but not all revolutions are good".

Not quite as far-reaching as "the Wii sucks because Martha Stewart made a cake that looks like it", but pretty weak arguments nonetheless. Seriously, you ought to just stick with criticizing the graphics and kiddy/casual/non-gamer appeal, because this issue really isn't worth all the creative energy you people put into it.

Who remembers when the sheep thought the Wii would revolutionize gaming? How many of those threads do we see today :lol:. Its ironic how their revolution has actually taken the opposite action and attempted to turn gaming into cheap 10min minigames. I can't believe all the sheep that have payed $250 for this crap. Here sheep, I can give you a link to all your games for free. Have fun checking your BMI index on your revolutionary new IP wiifit:lol:

Bu..But the wiimote has the potential

Brown52

Who remembers when Microsoft said the original Xbox would have CG graphics? Lie.

Sony hashad their fair share of lies too.

At least Nintendo has provided a low cost, entertaining console that more people are embracing. As a result, more people are getting into video gaming and therefore increasing the number of gamers. Why is that bad in your eyes?

Guh... Whatever.

This thread still falls flat on its face. It fails to realize what a Revolution is. It fails to see the difference. And it made people lose IQ Points.

Its obvious that Brown52 is annoyed that the Wii is selling so well. He just cant handle it. He is so insecure about it that he replies so quick to every post because he wants to prove to himself the Wii isnt good. Well you are wrong, the Wii is the most popular console out there and you cant hack it.

Sounds like you are annoyed that Nintendo are doing so good and making so much money. Afraid Nintendo's next console might do even better Brown52? Are you upset that the Nintendo Wii has revolutionized gaming forever? Want a tissue or you gunna keep making up lies about the Wii to make yourself feel good?

Here sheep, I can give you a link to all your games for free. Have fun checking your BMI index on your revolutionary new IP wiifit:lol:

Bu..But the wiimote has the potential

there no imagination... the swing is properly actioned in the game. I could be sitting down and flicking... but its certainly less accurate and even a little awkward... I might as well be pressing a button then. Standing and swing is the way it was meant to be played... despite nintendo saying otherwise to avoid lawsuits.AntiType

Oh it's very accurate and I done it. I hit several home runs like that in the few hours I played Wii sports.

I feel much more into the game with a complete baseball game with realistic players than playing batting practice with a sphere on a box swinging a bat.

You don't judge how revolutionary game is by scores... This thread has already affected your IQ, it's over.

Yeah, all great revolutionary games weren't even able to get an AA

Everyone remembers the great revolutionary games in gaming history. Wiisports is not one of them, and you are the one with the IQ issue if you honestly believe it is.

:| Wii Sports revolutionizes the Sports Genre, it's different, if you can't see that, I don't know why I'm replying to you.

OH MY.....revolutionionizes sports genr....thanks i needed something to wake me up.

1. Wii has. I am "into" my games at a whole new level and that is revolutionary.

2. I really don't think you want me to list the >4.0 games the 360 has, because there are more of them then the Wii has.

Brown52

Well , lets do that shall we and with Gamespot reviews just for fun :

19 for Wii

Only 2 for the 360

Why cant people just accept the Nintendo Wii is the most popular console around and the most inivative.

Now, I have a 360 so I am not biased. Let me just say that all Microsoft has done is update the graphics and make Xbox Live much better. Creative? Hardly. (Even though I still love my 360 and play it alot)

Nintendo Wii is a sucess in the industry, its fun, popular and very cheap. I used to hate the Nintendo Wii also, until I recently bought one and discovered how fun and inivative it is. Some of the people on this forum just cant hack it that Nintendo Wii has won the console war.

No matter how good or bad you may think the Wii is, it sells the most and thats all that matters.

Can you play Motorstorm using motion sensors on any other home console?

:/ Anyway, I've only had one prolonged hands on experience with the Wii, and the game of choice was Wiisports. I only played that for about 4 hours with friends but it hardly felt anything special. So it's not in my mind, but then again I'm jaded.

Wiimote Motion Sensing > Sixaxis Motion Sensing

What does that have to do with anything? I'm assuming you think the Wii revolutionized gaming because you can only play a Wii exclusive on it using motion sensing. It's no different for Motorstorm or any other PS3 exclusive that utilizes motion sensing.

One being better than the other isn't relevant in this case.

Wii sports removes buttons and has you doing every action? Wii brought what it promised so i don't know what your own about. Godfather has me literally punching, throwing and chocking and headbuting and slaping and...i could go on all day :)

Interfaces are already revolutionized. You're going to see motion controls and IR pointing in every future console.
