GT5 looks better than forza 2. but forza 2 has it beat technicaly by a mile as well. its all in the lighting which makes GT5 look good.
A-LEGEND
first off GT5 isent even out yet...so comparing it technically to forza 2 is unfair
and secondly GT5 looks great period.
[QUOTE="Hadoken_Kid"][QUOTE="Rikusaki"]I think this looks WAY better than ANY 360 game.
All of these are IN-GAME screenshots.
Remember this track from GTHD?
This makes Forza 2 look last gen.

No car damage makes this game Last gen
too bad for you, but GT5 will have car damage
looks good. maybe if Sony makes more games look this good, I will finally buy a PS3. but racing games are not my thing. just curious though, are there any pics of actual "driver -cam veiws" ? i played a few racers and have limited experince with driving games, but it would seem very hard to navigate a race track at high speeds with the camera angles posted. if not i would tend to think these were just replays or cut scene veiws from a race and not actual driver cam views.None of those are in game. They may be in-engine, but thats hardly in game. Not a single one of actually racing.Cali3350
I was gonna say - Every time I see screen shots on these boards they look all nice and shiny like the ones displayed here, then I see gameplay footage and it looks nothing like this. But hey, Sony and their sheeple NEVER posted non-gameplay pics before, right? SIKE
lol.
It doesn't make Forza 2 look like last gen, but it does look better than it. I think PS3/360 are pretty equal in terms of graphical power but the PS3 exclusives like Uncharted show more potential in that area imo.
the-very-best
correct, like dead on. anyways who was it that said this game was gonna have crap enviroments and all the resources were going into car models??? it looks like that was only on one barren track. this game looks amazing in every single aspect. makes me wish i had a ps3
thats a pic of pgr4 taken off a tv...lol cows u are delusional.....the graphics are pretty much the same
[QUOTE="Sants412"]I'd swear to God those were real pictures,Rikusaki
It looks better than Crysis :oEponique
Yeah I agree. Looks better than Crysis maxed out on my PC.
Yeah, maxed out on low.

are u serious? PGR4 looks great, but im sorry, GT5 looks quite a bit better.

Potential.....ROFL.
Uncharted is literally stomping into Oblivion every Xbox 360 or PC game I've played to date. Note that I haven't played Crysis or UT3.
I have doubts....almost amounting to certainty that we will never see a game of the graphical fidelity exhibited in Uncharted.
failactually i think uncharted looks better than oblivion maxed out on the PC.
those photos of GT5 looks awesome
now that thats been established how can u compare a racing game to an RPG and a racing game that will be 2 years older by the time it comes out ?
everyone can agree that the screens look awesome and better than any other racing game atm but why does it need to be compared to other genres and used to bash othher games.. its not necesary, remeber when u compare it to other games that a racing game dosent have that much going on in comparison to UT3, Crysis or oblivion which you compared it with not to mention its not even out yet
i mean forza 3 or 4 or PGR 5 or watevere will come out a year and probably look better than GT5 but thats just how things work, the graphics are always improving

Yeah thats what it looks like. I said I have it maxed out on my Evga 8800 Ulrta. GT5 still looks better.

I think you actually have to look at the pictures before posting....no way GT5 looks better than Crysis on Max.
wow!! those pics look really fantastic!! and the gameplay! it's truly remarkable.... oh wait..... i can't say that yet.............
and tell me something.. the ps3's cpu and gpu are supposed to be light years ahead of any the 360 has right? then why are the ps3 fanboys trying so hard to convince everyone that 1 ps3 game looks so much better than 360 games? shouldn't it be a 'walk in the park' for the mighty console? please, call me when sony stops copying controller features and start making more 'good' games.. until then, i'll be playing gears of war and halo 3........oh, and i can actually 'play' forza 2 as well...... sorry sony, u still suck......:(
I'm sure the in game race will look great and better than forza 2 (which looked like a slightly updated Forza 1), but these aren't racing pictures. They do this everytime and you guys jump for it. They post these amazing pics in replay mode, but then in the racing mode the resolution dropped (in the PS2 and PS1 games), you lost alot of lighting effects and the reflections either disappeared or looked horrible. It doesn't even look like the same game.
Like I said, i'm sure the real gameplay will look better than Forza 2 and will probably be the best looking racing game ever, but this is not the real gameplay and it will not look anywhere near this good. Its happened 4 times in a row and you guys are still falling for it.

So wait... you can max out Crysis on 1 8800 when it takes 3 of them in SLI mode to run it in Very High?

Right, regardless, a game taking huge resources doesn't necessarily look better than a game on the PS3. Remember, the cars in GT5 have all had like 1 month+ put into each, and the environments aren't hugely varying as they are (I guess) in Crysis. Crysis has a lot going on and a lot of environments and draw distance, so a game with so much focus in so little, like GT5, may actually look better.
this game is the epitiome of racing sim
truly gorgeous, nothing to bash it on. its a billion dollar intellectual property. take that forza.

#1 Gran Turismo is not a Racing Simulator. It's a racing game.
#2 Forza is also not a Racing Simulator, but at the moment is "closer" to what one would call a Racing Sim than Gran Turismo.
You might want to look into LFS if you want a Racing Simulator.
As stated super early on in the thread. GT5 Prologue is impressive when it comes to car models AND I'll be able to use my G25 to play it (Eff you in the A on that slip up Microsoft), but other than that I'm sure the gameplay will be on the lower scale than Forza 2, but that's just speculation.
