Why do people play non-exclusives on an inferior system. PCs with power are so cheap these days especially with the 1000 series cards have been announced. Why dont you have a PC, if you dont have one yet. Discuss?

Because I hardly give a damn on where I play my games, that's why. So I play "inferior" versions of multiplats. Big freaking deal as long as I get enjoyment out of it.

I buy most of my third party single player games for PC. But what is the point of buying PC shooter games for online, if you prefer to use controller? The PC population is lot lower for those type of games.
Starwars Battlefront population on PC is less than 6,000 people. Its was like 35,000 on xbox one last time i looked, at 50,000 on PS4

Because game consoles are simple to play and a lot more convenient. I'd rather game on a game console. I used to play mostly PC games back when I had a Atari 800 PC and when I had an old Window XP PC. Back then I was getting free PC games from publishers as I was working in the business. Now I'm not and I'm older, and game consoles are just a lot easier to get into and play with friends online.
You are making your community looks bad, kid...
Controllers suck they are only good for sports games anyway to get good at an FPS game for example you need to learn to use Keyboard and mouse
For one thing, I have lots of friends on both XBL/PSN that I wanna game with for the most parts, but if there not gonna play the same game on the platforms or not getting it, then it's ether on PS4 or PC depending on the actual game that is. Take the new Doom for example, none of my friends are not interested, so I'll just get it on PC.
My point is, everyone has preference when it comes to gaming, playing friends online also takes into consideration as well.

I started playing with mouse and keyboard decades ago and i still prefer a controller. And didn't you know that there are many PC gamers who play with console controllers? It's a matter of preference.
They are not skilled enough they need to use a controller designed for children
That mindset is why PC games have a lower player population. 60 million consoles have been bought. Thats 60 million customers potentially.
KB/M or bust online. I can use keyboard and mouse, but i prefer to sit back and relax and plays games. If PC dev's wants lot more people to buy games online for PC, they will have to cater for the controller player? Best way to do is have have dedicated servers for players who like controller only?
Casual games like cod or battlefield, then yes, but when it comes to hardcore multiplayer games then pc is the way to go.
Online community for multilayer games
A lot of the time I do, depending on the game. A few criteria that make the difference for me:
1) if it's a seventh generation game or earlier (and hasn't been remastered lol), I try to play it on PC. Chances are it's cheap and that my PC can max it out compared to those consoles, which generally run them at lower than low settings under 30 FPS. So I save my PS3 for exclusives like Demon's Souls, or games that weren't on PC like Vanquish.
2) A lot of the time I can borrow a game from a local library for my One or PS4, which heavily saves on cost compared to even PC releases. So games like Mad Max I played on my One, even at 30 FPS. However, if the game ends up cheap on PC, I might end up buying it there then. Then I'm in no hurry to beat it within a week.
3) If the launcher is gonna be something other than Steam, this might deter me too. I don't really mind uPlay or Origin but I detest Windows Store, even if it got me Rise of the Tomb Raider for $9. In that case I might just end up playing it on console.
4) I value cross-buy and save a lot more than 60 FPS for most titles, including a lot of indies that make it on Vita. So something like Final Fantasy X, I probably wouldn't ever pick it up on Steam, even if I could run it better than on my PS4, because then I can't transfer my save to my Vita. Trophies are cool too.
5) this is something I've learned, size matters ;) seriously though, I try buying games for PC if they're something like The Witcher 3 or MGS V. First off, games like MGS V are games people really want, so chances are I don't get them at the library easily. Second, even if I do, how long will it take me to beat them? A library rental is usually a week; for perspective, I bought MGS V day one on PC in September and finished it in January. So if a game requires lots of time, I might defer to PC.
I get tired of upgrading a PC. Consoles keep things simple and the last thing I need is complications in my hobby that I do for relaxation and enjoyment. I don't get at all worked up about graphics or frame rates like so many do, so consoles are perfectly suited to me. I am happy. Also, I like the couch.
Like if it were so hard to install a controller on a PC ........
Its playable, but its near impossible to beat a good KB/M player online. You never going to be top or middle of the leaderboard. If you don't care about that PC is the best experience for visuals.
Who says you need to leave the couch when playing on pc.

There is nothing wrong with playing games on console. One cant be convinced on what they are missing... especailly when you have nothing better to compare the experience to.
The upgrade to PC needs to happen organically in each individual. And you will never look back at your console experience with malcontent... it was a blast at the time. But moving forward you will see what a difference a rig can make.
Im currently playing and enjoying the flying f off of Dark Souls 3 on ps4. Fps is garbage and drops below 25 pretty damn often but the community is lively and that's all that matters in those games.
@loe12k: Huh? Player population is a lot higher on PC.
http://swbstats.com/ The population on that game right now for PC was 3,000 peak was 5,000 this week.
Its 9,000 xbox one 18,000 peak PS4 19,000 peak 24,000.
Good luck finding games on PC with those numbers.
http://bfhstats.com/
Battlefield hardline 2,000 on PC peak 2,400
its xbox one 7,000 peak 13,000 thousand
PS4 10,000 peak 12,000
PC for population for BF4 is higher then xbox one but lower then PS4 right now.
Starswars battlefront and Hardline are newer games and the online community is non existent really.
Probably 40 million PS4 owners and 22 million Xbox One owners.
So none of those 40 million ps4 owners have a gaming pc? sounds legit
@loe12k: Nice cherry picking. What about DkS III with 60K players? DOTA which routinely has over 100K?
It is a fact population on PC online is way way higher than on consoles. Consoles have a few games like COD with higher populations but they don't compare to Counter-Strike, LoL or DOTA.

Dota is a Moba a computer from 10 years ago would be good enough, so naturally the player population would be very large .. Counter-strike graphically is poor and again you don't need a high end rig to run it.
@loe12k: Lol and what does have to do with the fact that player population is higher on PC? You mentioned BF as if it was somehow a benchmark when it is fairly unpopular in the PC community.
Its not higher on PC. Newer games have a lower population on PC and i have shown you the stats. How many PC's are in homes today that can run Dota literally hundreds of millions i would bet.

I have a PC as well as consoles, but I am a console gamer at heart. I prefer gaming on consoles, even when they are inferior. Just a personal preference.

You prefer to sit back and relax that makes you a casual gamer. We don't want the controller jockeys to ruin our gaming experiences when the devs decide to make games that only cater to them and abandon the superior mouse and keyboard.

I never said you can't keep your preferred way of playing games on PC? I said they should pool all controller players to together to play with each other.. I use keyboard and mouse all the time on PC for different genres of games, but the fact is the lot of newer games on PC, made for online play die out early.

Says who ? -----> oh yeah, people that suck at playing with a controller. Dude, I played in PC a few years ago, hard to tell me what can you and can´t do.
Well TC that simply depends on what kind of gamer you are no? For many the console is a cheap (up front at least, so mentally easier to justify) and adequate way of playing multiplats.
Many simply want to play said game, they do not care about graphics, input or how well a game runs.
They are not wrong, it is a personal preference, people who play multiplats on the PC tend to prefer the more fluid game, and often the more precise controls.
But most PC gamers seem to be on the PC because of freedom. The PC offers way more freedom in every game, how the game runs, looks and such is completely up to you.
So you are commenting on two different demographics. I will gladly admit that I dislike most Multiplats on consoles, because well they tend to run somewhat ass compared to what I like, but it is not across the board, most fighting games I see no real value of playing on PC over consoles, and games where framerate and response time is a non issue, I can see no real difference in enjoyment.
Only faster paced games, and precise controls that makes me scratch my head. But that is likely becuase I prefer to game on the PC, not consoles (outside of exclusives) But I certainly don't dismiss the people who just want to game on a console.
Me.
Some games are just better enjoyed on my TV without going through the hassle of a poor port or setting up my computer to be able to play games in another room all while risking a crappy port.
Have you heard of our lord and savior Steam Link? I too have gaming pc in another room, but I'm a firm believer of this god send product!(you do want wired connection/powerline tho)
