after replaying mass effect 2 I decided to go back and play through the first game again and whoa, there is a massive dfference between the two games. I didnt realize how much of a jump ME2 was, especially in the graphics and combat. ME1 is very ugly nowadays, but one thing I do prefer is the more in-depth PRG elements that ME2 dumbed down. To think a few years ago this game was cutting-edge tech, now its just...meh

The gameplay in the 2nd trounced the first IMO, as it felt awful to go back and play ME1. However I found the story to be *far* better in the first.

I'm gonna replay the first soon, but i've popped it in a couple of times over the past few months and it's been difficult to get back into it.

The environments aren´t that good looking to be honest, with the exception of the citadel´s presidium.

Looks great on the pc.. I recently played it again a few months back.. Both games were maxed out.. I honestly don't see a serious difference between the two except that ME1's environments are more sterile/empty in many areas.

Are you kidding? Perhaps you're talking about the desert planets? Then yes. Compare the cidatel in ME to the cidatel in ME2. A living world to explore against a two corridors jointed together. Also the PC version of ME1 has way better textures, FOV, stuff like that. ME2 had a darker artstyle. Overall ME > ME2.

The citidel in ME1 was just a bunch of NPC walking back and forth and I'll take mutiple well made worlds over just one.. And the pc version of ME2 has better texture, lighting and animations. And how is dark style worse.

No, I've played both versions on PC, ME clearly has the better textures, i know what I'm talking about here. And it doesn't have better lightning, it's just used differently. It's the same lightning. Please if you haven't played the PC version, dont input on it. And i never said worse artstyle just darker.

Can i please have that quote because when i first said it that mass effect 2 does not have as good textures as the first one on pc, everyone was like "NOOO you have not played the game" Right, once again i was right. it just people dont wanna hear it. But ME was a better port than ME2 on pc.

That being said, ME1 looks better than the second so the thread is invalid.

ME1 is indeed the better RPG, but ME2 is by far the better overall game. I agree with the first choice. I have played ME1 several times since playing ME2, but it's hard to go back to. It is pretty dated, but still fairly enjoyable regardless.

No Your wrong. It has better textures and global lighting as in if the light is red, object reflect that red light untill meeting a different light source. Walk in the Normandy and you'll see. Also, I like to make a comparison

.....Please tell me now which had better textures? Hell, last time I check "He" barly moves his mandibles in ME1 compared to ME2.

I own them both and have to disagree. The PC version looks quite a bit better if only because of the higher resolutions allowed. I played at 1920x1200 compared to 720p on the 360.

Yah because a small gif file is going to show the differences....

I already see a good difference even with the small gif.

Consoles versions were much uglier. Especially since I could alter the config file of ME1.

I did that too for ME 2 because it had ugly shadows.

I don't have a comparison of ME1 but here is ME2 Xbox 360 vs PC.

Consoles versions were much uglier. Especially since I could alter the config file of ME1.

I did that too for ME 2 because it had ugly shadows.

I don't have a comparison of ME1 but here is ME2 Xbox 360 vs PC.

.....I see no differerence.
