Anyone else remember when hermits tried to argue that Half-Life was more popular and influential than Halo? :lol:NerkconCountless games have tried and failed to copy the silent protagonist that was most thoroughly introduced by HL and its more critically loved by gamers and reviewers as one of the best games of all time...well before Halo.
How can you single them out for this though? Every single strong fanboy thinks their system is the best, thinks their system had the best year and thinks their system has the strongest lineup. Why are Hermits called arrogant elitists when they do this? Is not every fanboy arrogant and elitist?I hate PC gamers because most of them are arrogent elitests. About a video game system lol.
Example : "Which system won '09 games-wise"
Hermit answer - "PC wins just like every year"
Even though IMO PC had nothing on PS3. MLB '09 The Show, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Demon Soul's, R&C, inFAMOUS, plus all the games PS360 share that aren't on PC dominates the PC line-up this year.
Reason the PC won?
"PC wins every year"
"PC is always the best"
"PC always has/had the best games"
Crap like that annoys me.

Did you just call him arrogant? How silly of you. Only Hermits are arrogant. He is whatever negative characteristic System Wars has decided his fanboy group symbolises; regardless of what he might actually say, the ideas he raises, or the context of his post.I hate it because all the hate the PC gamers give the consoles. I will never own a gaming PC. I've been playing games for 15 years and have never considered PC.
If PC elitists didn't go around shoving their "facts" in everybody's faces I would have no problem with it. It would be like the Wii to me, nonexistent. But since these people have to say how terrible consoles are compared to their "rigs". Games on the PC simply do not appeal to me. They have nothing of my interest that I couldn't get on a console

Actually, the subject of your post was the PC, not PC gamers. You don't even get into your problems with PC gamers until the second paragraph, even then they're only a footnote as to why, as your conclusion states, you don't like the PC because of PC gamers. So if that's an irrelevant line of thinking to this topic (and I don't believe it is) you brought it up, not me. Nevertheless, do you really not pursue experiences in life because you don't like other people who might have pursued it? Don't you find that incredibly petty and limiting?I often have a feeling that most of the Consolites (I hate that term) saying that, are the teens who was not allowed to get a PC. They never really seen anything but the "media centers" thier family uses, and have a hard time wrapping thier heads around the thing.
They tend to hate anything that is not on thier own brand of console, out of insecurity, and jealusy. Granted some Hermits do contribiute to the hate by butting in on the "best console graphics" subjects and such, when it has been stated that it was a console thing.
I am fairly certain that its the preteens-teens that hate so much however :P since most of the mature part of the fanbases are quite able to see strengths and weaknesses of each system, and comment based on logic instead of raw emotions.
And honestly it must suck for a % of the console gamers always to be told that there are a better version of x game on the pc (altho it is often the case, based of funktionality and graphics) but comeon it is maybe a notch better, not a world of difference.
soo... chalk the hate up to insecure brats trying to defend what they have :P (the rest of us just goes out and buys another system if it begins to look interresting)

"PC wins because PC always wins" is not a fact. Those are the kind of "facts" I'm referring to.
Everyone on this board is aware that the PC's hardware is better than the consoles' as well as some other pros about it. Those cannot be argued. If somebody made a topic "Who will win 2015", a year none of us know about, I guarantee somebody would use the quote I started this post with. Yeah, you're going to get Cows and Lems say their respective consoles, but that won't add that little ALWAYS wins to the end of it. Don't you find that incredibly petty and limiting?I've never pursued PC gaming my whole life because it never appealed to me. Between the NES and the PS3 I have never felt my gaming experiences were held back due to being on consoles.
The first sentence I wrote said that I mainly didn't like it because of the people and how they act. If they didn't do the things they do, PC game would just be another platform that I chose not to play on. Nothing wrong with that, just a personal choice.
It's not petty or limiting. How am I limiting myself when I'm perfectly happy with my PS3? I get the games I want to play, the quality of them, and the variety that I enjoy. I don't need another platform for that. If I felt my experience was being held back and the PC was the way to go, than I would switch over.

It's limiting because you don't try to experience everything you can.
Some of your reasons for doing that are very petty as I was saying, particularly how you hate the PC because of PC gamers. Personally, I always try to broaden my horizons. I don't try and sit on my laurels on things, whether than be people I meet, places I visit, movies and television I watch, music I listen to, and games I play.
Because I can tell you, while you may thoroughly enjoy what you're doing right now, there is always more out there you'll enjoy. By not even bothering to pursue it, you're limiting yourself.

Although I have not owned a gaming PC, I have played some of the games when I was younger. I learned quickly that I do not enjoy RTS. That genre is the home ground on PC. Then, we have MMOs. I'm not into those types of games. They simply do not appeal to me. That leaves me a a few FPSs (Crysis, Arma 2, Stalker) that would have to justify my purchase of a gaming computer. Seeing as Crysis 2 is coming to the PS3, that takes it out of the equation.
If I owned a PC, it would essentially be for 2 exclusives and possibly some multiplats that I could play on my PS3 already. I try to broaden my horizons as well. I have never been too big on RPGs, but I purchased Demon's Souls just to see if I liked it. Turns out I am loving the game because it is so different from other games I've played

I didn't but a PS3 for the multiplats. I bought it because some of my favorite games are on that exclusive to that console. Games like God of War, Gran Turismo, Killzone, Devil May Cry (was exclusive at the time of me buying one) as well as the great new IPs that Sony has put out like Uncharted, Resistance, LBP, Infamous, etc. That is the reason I stayed with Sony consoles for the PS3.
If I was on a PC I would not have any access to those games. Sure I'd have slightly better multiplats, but I could get those on the other console as well. I am aware of the other genres of exclusives that PC offers, but those 3 are probably the biggest.

[QUOTE="JetLagz28"]We get hate because they're jealous that our system is better than theirs. I was joking BTW, I'm not a fanboy. And everyone fell for it... :PWhy all the hate for lemmings? Why do people want PC gaming to die? I don't understand...
I'm 26 and I grew up during the golden age of PC gaming in the 90's and early 2000's. I know there is a preference for most of us to play on a console because its more relaxing, social and we can play on a bigger tv while sitting on the couch. With this generation's advance in online gaming, a true rival to PC online gaming now exists.
PC gaming is where it all started. Open operating systems, cheaper production and liscencing costs and variable control schemes have created the types of games we can't get enough of today. The games are cheaper, the systems are customizable and you can modify the games that you purchased and own.
The platform thrives on competition but also allows niche markets to co-exist. FPS's were once a niche market of PC games. Adventrue games, flight sims, real time strategy and role playing games were once all bigger than shooters. FPS's grew up and matured on PC's. Online gaming was a regular pracitice on PC's a full decade before PSN and Xbox live really got going. Where do you think consoles got the idea from?
The PC market is innovative, it moves quickly and more people have access to it than ever before.
Why do lots of console gamers want PC gaming to die out? Why limit our choices?
Thanks for reading.

It doesn't really. But the reason its makes someone a casual/noob gamer is becauase Sanitarium has very little in spite of gameplay but a lot in terms or puzzle and adventure, something that modern gamers cannot handle anymore which also explains all the hype for Alan Wake and Heavy Rain. Dungeon Keeper is pretty much a real time strategy game with focus on real time upgrading, dungeon management and other special skills include turning prisoners into skeletons or torture victims into mistresses ie another game that requires a lot of thought. now diablo is essentially a hack and slash sort of game, only the RPG element are well balanced, thought out and have a big impact on your playing style and progress, something that modern RPG fail in (ie Mass Effect). I could go on. Nah, of course you right, im just being picky, but i do hate casuals ad noobs. Mainly cos i hang around here too much and this place is filled with them.I don't have hate for PC gamers, but I imagine for those who do, that it's largely due to the extreme arrogance displayed by PC gamers.

Mainly cos i hang around here too much and this place is filled with them.tirralirra
im just playing the devils advocate here. personaly im a pc gamer and feel its the 'right' way for developers and gamers to go especially now that the experience has become as simple in terms of convience as a console. but i wont say its better.

right, thats my mission now. your post clearly suggests that you think PC gaming is better, but you wont say. hmmm, how can i go about this i'll go for your avatar, you surely cannot admit that you'd play TF2 on a console over a pc...let alone the halflife series itself.right, thats my mission now. your post clearly suggests that you think PC gaming is better, but you wont say. hmmm, how can i go about this i'll go for your avatar, you surely cannot admit that you'd play TF2 on a console over a pc...let alone the halflife series itself.tirralirra
no i can not. i am a pc gamer my bias is fairly. clear. in my personal belief pc gaming is better. expect thats pc gaming as in gaming on the pc not the pc gaming experience. ive already outlined the differences between the experiences. as far as the core console and core pc experience goes, i prefer the pc but i will not say its the better of the two. if that makes any sense.
