Why are people so scared of Sony winning? PS2 was awesome!

I'm not scared of Sony winning, they are a scum bag company just like all of the companies in the world, someone has to be on top though.

- Charges 50 bucks a year for multiplayer. PSN is still the same

- Releasing a handheld console. Doesn't support it.

- Doesn't bother with backwards compatibility. Charges insane prices for streaming rentals.

PS2 being the best console of all time is an opinion. I don't think it is. That being said I owned 3 PS2s over the years and they were fine. People like to say it is the greatest thing god conceived but its just a game console. Same as any other game console.

My only issue with PS4 and their console sales is that they really haven't done much to justify it. Few first party titles and their first year was packed full of mediocrity. Will it change in the future? Probably. But it doesn't make up for the fact that the other 2 systems had better games.

I'll be glad when Sony ditches physical consoles altogether. PS5 being cloud based will be the greatest thing Sony ever does and they will look back at PS4 sales and laugh. I wish they could do it by this time next year.

Best exclusives is an opinion. There are many, many gamers who think the best exclusives are on Nintendo, XBox or PC platforms. Not everyone thinks PS exclusives are the best. I think there are best exclusives on many platforms not just one. They don't abandon platforms? LMAO!! They pretty much abandoned the PSVita this generation and completely threw away the PSPGo in under a year. What above that special device called "The MOVE". LOL!! Even after showing some demo games for it at the 2013 E3, Sony completely dumped that trash into the basement. It's collecting dust in gamers closets right now. I know mine is.

Wii was first, but we don't know who was 2nd or 3rd, because Sony refused to release their PS3 sales numbers. Sony's last count was 80 million on Nov 2013. Microsoft posted the same amount on Oct 2013, so XBox 360 was obviously ahead in sales. In 2014, Microsoft posted 84 million at the 2014 E3. Sony stayed speechless and wouldn't release their PS3 sales. For that reason, I still think they are behind the XBox 360. If they were ahead, they would have posted their sales by now. VGChartz numbers are way,way off. They had XBox 360 sales at 83.1 million when Microsoft made their announcement. They had it passing 84 million in Dec 2014. lol!! Xbox 360 sales are well over 85 million now. Stay salty.

Yepperz and Sony continued with the same practice with PS3 and the massive YLOD problems but unlike Sony, MS couldn't go through with it and quickly put into place easy fixes for their customers costing MS a few billion, they'd send you a box, put your 360 in it, they'd have it picked up and deliver you a new or remanufactured one pronto and never counted it as another 360 sale. . Thank you based MS eh? :P

PS2 suffered from many issues...Still though one cannot deny PS2 offered a massive games library with some of the best games I played in my gaming life !!

If anything they lost that marketshare to MS in the first year but even with a 600$ pricetag they outsold them each year WW. Nobody jumped ship to nintendo.

You would think embrace a company that's for the gamers like SONY is this gen. They certainly made MS change course and give power back to the gamers.

Well, the 360 beat the PS3 for a long time. That success turned them into dicks when the x1 came around. They were sort of in first place I don't think anyone seriously thought they were competing against the Wii last gen. Even though they really were, and the Wii curb stomped them both.

Nothing of value would be lost if you were removed from this site. lol!! Same could be said for Sony as well. Apple, Samsung and Amazon are waiting in the background to take their place. You know the PS3 was marketed as a Blu-Ray player first right? Sony didn't care about the gamers when they were doing that. It wasn't until Blu-Ray surpassed HD-DVD that Sony finally decided to market the system as a game console. This is a fact. For gamers my ass. More like For Sony, by Sony and screw everyone else.

I'm certainly not scared, good for them and Sony fans if the PS4 stays number 1 this Gen. I owned and loved the PS1 &PS2 and I know Sony has done a lot for the gaming industry. It is well known that the PS1 pushed gaming from obscurity into popular mainstream.

All I care about is that my system of choice, the Xbox One, is succesful. Xbox pioneered online gaming back with the original Xbox, and this is the primary reason I jumped ships with 360. The same is true today, Xbox does online better than Sony, not just because of the quality of XBL, but they have more games to take advantage of that online service. Games like Horizon 2 and TitanFall that run superbly well online. If Xbox fails, and we are just left with online gaming on PSN....that is what scares me.

There were a lot of good games on the PS2, but just about all of the very best console games of that gen were exclusive to the Xbox or Gamecube.

Seems you were the one "bent out of shape" because XB1 hasn't failed and is still selling million of consoles and games. Yes, Minecraft reaches beyond XBox, but it's still a game that's part of the gaming industry. XBox one is a part of it as well.

Huh...I played my Gamecube far more than my PS2.

When Sony thought they was easily going to win they released the PS3 at $599 and offered no real support for the first couple of years. They may not even have had the online they have today if Microsoft wasn't around and PS4 certainly wouldn't have been what it is.

Sony sell a lot of premium products, their TVs and devices are often on the higher end of the market, they tried to make the PS3 a premium product and it backfired. Every one should want all three console makers to be competitive with each other, so they all step up their game.

The Xbox One has changed so much since the E3 reveal, and that a lot of that is because of the PS4.

Sony consoles sold 100m, 155m and 85m while nintendos most succesfull console was 100m and that was on the back of soccer moms and old people while their traditional consoles starting with the NES which sold 65m are in heavy decline.

You seem kind of delusional, and I think that is at least one reason why people push back. It's not Sony necessarily that people have a problem with (in many instances anyway), it is the Sony Fanboys who shit on everything else that isn't Sony, and pretend like there is / should be only one option.

A little history about me...

I had a PS1, and a PS2 for a time before I traded it in, but I never owned a PS3, and have yet to get a PS4 (if I ever get one). But just this Christmas I (rather my wife) just bought my son a Vita, so anyone saying I'm "a Sony hater" after I say this is dumb, but yeah. Back in the day I traded my PS2 in to get an OG Xbox due to me wanting to play via xbl (it was WAY better than PS2 online), and then I got a 360 for the same reason (years after it came out mind you) and I loved it! I always wanted to get a PS3, but there was never that extra "thing" that got me over that hump so I never did. Fast forward to today where I got an X1 instead of a PS4 because it suits my needs more so than the PS4. Now, just like then, Sony doesn't fit my needs. Through all this too, I've also owned and regularly played my Gamecube, Wii, and now my WII U (which all probably had my favorite games of those past generations).

So, to answer your question, I don't care if Sony "wins", but in reality Sony isn't for me, and hasn't been for years. More than anything else though, I don't appreciate 50% of the gaming consumer base (mostly Sony fans) shitting on one of my consoles of choice because it doesn't suit their own personal needs. But I'm only one person, and I'm sure there are plenty of "Xbots" who are douches and go around shitting on Sony products and fans.

In closing, Sony doesn't have the "best" games objectively, and isn't the "best" console, but it does have a lot of great games, and they do make great consoles. That is just a fact.
