I thought it was supposed to be as good as PC, especially considering many Cows spent $1100 on Sony hardware this gen (PS4+Pro+PSN).
I mean with $1100 I do not expect to still be playing at 30 fps or sub 4k.
Did they scam the Cows?

When did sony ever say all games would be 60 fps or native 4K? Even with the overclocking to the Jaguar core it will still need a bottleneck in the system. I only paid $400 because I never owned a PS4, and the vast majority of PC games game at 1080p with low-medium hardware.
Hear is a 700.00 pc to game at 1080p with no OS......now what about that 400.00 pro

That PC in the link is quite a bit more powerful than the PS4 Pro.
It can actually play some games at 4k resolution.
I'm still debating getting a slim at this point mainly racing and fighting games would benefit from the pro
It's called marketing. Try to notice the difference between the two sentences I put forth.
"It can deliver the same graphics as a good pc at 1080p!"
It can deliver the same graphics upscaled at lower framerates as a good low to mid range pc at 1080p!"
Sony is smart enough to know that a majority of gamers are still playing in 1080p, so that resolution should take priority over everything else.
so how much does it cost to build a PC that can do native 4k and 60 FPS?
if you can afford a 4K TV/Monitor , you won't be bothered with the price
Sony promised the world, not just an evolution, but a revolution. 4k, the fantastical world of tomorrow.
None of these claims came to fruition, masses of money reduced to tinder for a fire that profoundly refuses, and ultimately never will ignite.
Absolute garbage.

dumb logic. the ridiculous cost of native 4k/60 FPS isn't negated just because you can afford a 4k tv or monitor, and there are 4k TVs and monitors below $600 now.
just because you can afford a 4k display doesn't mean you're also willing to spend additional money on a PC that's close to $2000
CPU bottleneck, not enough memory bandwidth and GPU Teraflops.
Having said that its still a solid upgrade over vanilla PS4 and the price is more than acceptable.
This is pretty well summed up
Damn now I feel dumb for buying one seeing that it's so disliked........
Not really, I'm enjoying the Pro games looks great and was worth the money.
lol what is, "as good as PC" do you know how abstract and idiotic that sounds? PS4 pro is $400 or less and a complete system.
Can you build a complete PC for $400 that's much better than PS4 Pro if not then...yea I is "as good as PC" based on respective pricing.

what is dumb is that you think that a 2000$ PC is on the same level with PS4 Pro
im pretty sure the final dev kits arent out yet for the pro. but then again developers haven't had alot of time with the hardware

i was specifically referring to a PC that can do native 4k, which is the subject of OP's thread
I had low expectations, but at the end of the day I'm just a pragmatic PC gamer and the price of the Pro is a tiny drop in my pay cheque.
I personally don't really mind chipping a bit extra just to ensure the exclusive games that DO interest me are performing as best as they can. So far, only Nioh and Persona 5 appear interesting on the horizon, and only Nioh really benefits from Pro. That's fine I guess? It's not a great deal, but not bad enough for me to dismiss it.
I'm not too impressed with the pro at this point but I don't have a 4k tv yet.
No set of specs plays every game perfect forever on pc, I didn't expect 60 fps for every game.
Because they want to keep the frame rate consistent for online play since otherwise it's an arms race on who can get better framerate.
It's a way to keep people from running to the pc IMO. Yet if you buy a 4k HDR HDTV and the ps4 pro you clearly could have gotten a gaming pc. The real problem is the games on pro need to be patched to take advantage of the hardware.
This is also up to the game developer if and how to patch their games. This gives wildly unstable support if you get any at all. This makes it IMO a poor value.
