Why are Sony games so successful?

They just can't get enough of this. lol :P

Because they're all about games and game development and delivering on it. This is what Nintendo and Sony will continue to have over Microsoft. Who has some good games, but their priorities are always wildly different with GaaS and constant hype and marketing of hardware.

I just finished playing TLoU2, and it's a MASSIVE single player undertaking that's tremendous both gameplay and storywise. I hope this gen MS lets these studios attempt a masterpiece instead of trying to enforce deadlines and shoe-in multiplayer and GaaS elements.

I'd say they're the equivalent of Marvel movies.

On the flip side, Sony Pictures is starting to take cues from Sony Interactive Entertainment. The biggest movie franchise from Sony Pictures in recent years, Jumani, is a movie series based on video games.

Sony's plan might be for multi-media franchises between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Interactive Entertainment. We're already starting to see this with Spider-Man, spread across SPE movies and SIE games. And there are plans for an Uncharted movie and Last of Us show from SPE.

I'd say it has to do with most of them being highly praised single player offerings you can only get on PS. A large chunk of PS4's massive market share (myself included) prefer single player games and new IPs. Sony delivers that, plus almost all multi-player shooters are still on the console if you like to mix up genres.

On the flip side, it's also easier for Sony to tout game sales numbers when they aren't giving new 1st party games for a buck on a streaming service.

Because they make really, really good games. God of War won more GOTY awards than RDR2 which tells you it could win GOTY in any year.

The first part of TLOU2 is enough to call it the greatest game of the decade, merely 6 months in. We might not get a better game in 9.5 years.

The Last of Us - Game of the decade for sure.

Then you have all the extras like Uncharted 4, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn , Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, FFVII:R etc. All superb games.

It's the quality of the games and, the IP.

there not. only teraflops makes good games and so does raytracing.

besides every sony game can be played on utube.

movie games, casual games, no game play in a 30 or more game

you guys need to go back and play your teraflops and raytracing games and think of new crap to say.

I will let you rest that question was to much for you. shhhh it's ok I will tuck you in and put sonys movie game on utube so you can watch days gone or god war or horizon zero dawn. it will take 30 hours to watch those movie games but thats ok your use to 30 hour movies.

remember guys movies are 30 hours long.

then you dream about raytracing and teraflops.
