Why arent Nintendo and MS at Gamescon?

Nintendo has a new console coming out in a couple of months, you would think they would be showing it off at every show they can? Especially after an unimpressive E3. Same with Microsoft.

Not worth the money investment, as they see it. Nintendo might have a reason to with Wii U, but I suppose that's an approach left to the marketing division; I assume they're going to let word of mouth run the campaign, plus Nintendo hasn't revealed either price or launch date, which may get be delayed for the region (current rumor).

And really, MS doesn't have anything to really show beyond Forza, Halo, and perhaps Gears. There just isn't enough to show to warrant the cost (besides, most of the big games being shown will be handled by the respective publishers who are attending).

yeah, thats why the PS2 is regarded by many as the best console ever made. If it was because of "popular choice" then the wii would be loved by the majority of the "core" market, something it isnt, while the PS2 is. PS2 was great, both in quality as in quantity and only a moron would deny that.

also what the fvck at the last remark... "terrible FP games"? Who cares if it had the best RPGs, Platformers, Hack'n'slash, puzzle games, adventure games etc etc? Also FPS sucks a55 so I couldnt give two fvcks if the PS2 had terrible FPS or not. The FPS craze only started this gen and, as you see, many gamers are tired of the genre already

If you had two inches of a brain you would notice I was talking about the softaware not hardware (games define a console. not its power). Also, dont know bout others but my phat PS2 still works fine.

to the "snes>PS2", subjective

If people jumped from the PS1 to the PS2 because "it was the popular choice" then why didnt they jump to the PS3 aswell?

And no, it also had the best overall RPGs cause last gen JRPGs>WRPGs

You'd think Nintendo would be there, oh well they like to keep everything internally,thats why they get cr@p third party support.

Nintendo wont be there but a few 3rd Party devs are going to be there with Wii U games. Supposedly Ubisoft is going to be showing off a new build of Zombi U too, so thats something atleast

Nintendo doesn't go to all of the conferences, you just have to wait for a Nintendo Direct for them.

Microsoft really probably has nothing to show.
