30fps is not silky smooth

lol a 400$ PC will get the same performance or better on multiplats
You should have been tipped off when he said the R&D for the chip costed hundreds of billions of dollars. Sony never had that much money in its entire history.
If it were any other company, the R&D would have exceeded $100 billion. Microsoft had to spend $10-15 billion on the Xbone R&D and it's far weaker than the PS4 while being far more expensive.
The PS4 SoC is a lot cheaper to manufacture than the Xbone SoC, it has no major bottlenecks, and it is much stronger. It would cost about $350 billion in R&D if any other company designed it. The PS4 SoC is perfection. Hundreds of years from now, the PS4 SoC will be shown in tech museums around the world. It will be taught as the chip that revolutionized computing.
You remind me of the Church of Atom people from Fallout 3 lol

I'll bite. Show me a $400 PC (that includes OS, Blu-ray, and a wireless controller) with the same or better performance.
Digital Foundry have done this test with games in the past, it was more like $500 though and it did beat the console versions. I don't think anyone includes OS cost it's kind of like including a TV cost for a console......and wasn't Windows10 free?

It can't function without an OS (Windows 10 upgrades are free. You have to already own a qualifying licence).
It would be disingenuous to submit a solution that isn't whole.
I am still waiting for a $400 PC that provides all the features and performance of a PS4.

You can get a wireless controller for 20$ anywhere and a legit Windows license on reddit for 20$
I mean it's a Soul's game, I remember bloodborne was not so great with frames when it was launched although I think they releases a patch afterwards if I remember correctly to fix it.

You can't see those huge frame drops? It's definitely not 30 FPS.

It's pretty close to single digits and yes it was sarcasm

You gotta love how no one is making threads about this and ignoring it entirely, picture has been up for hours.
@MonsieurX: Your source of controller and OS are dubious. A Logitech F710, which doesn't have all the features of DS4, is $40. Still more than $400 and doesn't include the cost of assembly. Try again.
"Features of the DS4"
Besides the useless touchpad, what else makes it special?

It's wider than a DualShock 3 lol?

that too, man the ds4 just keeps giving
but in all seriousness it has motion sensor

Probaly they are waiting for actual frame count from the usual sources DF and what not I guess. Or heck anybody who want to grab few multiple lossless video sample and do frame count. Its hard to look at that and make quick judgement. Is that your stream @howmakewood if so was that what you experienced or was that a stream lag? Difficult to make a call and stick my neck out lol. You can make a thread based on that if you want though @dynamitecop
@ellos: Nah wasn't my stream, but according to the streamer it was indeed the game choking, not his capture card/connection
DF should cover the ps4 version in few days, hope they use a bigger scope of areas as it seems only some have issues
@MonsieurX: tbh that's a shitty build for pc gaming on today's standards, 4gb or ram? A 7850 with no price available and a quadcore? That was my build 7 years ago but instead of 4 I had 6gb and not the 7850.

Not sure where you saw any of that in my build
Nothing wrong with 900p can anyone tell the difference between 900p an 1080p no . Just play the fucking game. True gamers will
Nope. The final output is 1080p. The internal is 900p. When sane person is playing a game they don't concern themselves with the resolution far less the resolution of the system they don't have. Its just system wars drivel.
@GoldenElementXL: We're not talking about it because, let's face it, there is no point. We know that every multi-plat is going to run better on PS4 and best on PC. X1 falls short of the others yet again, it still not going to stop those who prefer X1 over the other two from buying it their, so there is nothing to talk about.
Because all respectable gamers are getting it on PS4.
PC? 1440p+ and 60 fps?
No one online to summon
Amazing! Incredible!
SONY has designed an incredibly fast, strong and balanced SoC that's unrivaled by any high-end gaming PC gear. I am amazed daily by how SONY pulled it off. It's unbelievable! Genius, I say!
The PS4 SoC is worth hundreds of billions of dollars in R&D and I have no doubt that it will be shown in a history museum centuries from now depicting the start of a computing revolution.
lol a 400$ PC will get the same performance or better on multiplats
You forget individual game optimization since the ps4 and xbox one are specific hardware, meaning the dev knows exactly what to optimize for, meaning it can run better than the open hardware specs of pc.
He was joking but honestly you can't get ps4 quality at ps4 price
"As with Bloodborne, neither PS4 or Xbox One versions of Dark Souls 3 feel as smooth as they should do, even while running at the target 30fps on average. Frames are incorrectly ordered to produce a stuttering sensation, and our hopes of From Software addressing the issue are once again dashed."
Is anyone surprised?
@howmakewood: Nope its like the whole mark of their engine. You will find uneven frame delivery even at 60fps on pc. The annoying thing is they ain't gonna fix it for any version.
Ye the Dark souls 2 / Scholar were obviously better on PC but not w/o issues on these parts
they did manage to make it less terrible in Bloodborne so there is some hope.

'hundreds of billions of dollars in R&D'
It was only 98 million

'unrivaled by any high-end gaming PC gear.'
A console which launched with a mid range GPU and a CPU weaker than a core i3 can beat a top end PC?
You are obviously just trolling so jog on mate.
Neither the Xbone or Ps4 come even close to a top end PC in Power.
@cainetao11: biggest 8 year old on the block? That's a bad analogy considering most hardcore gamers play these kinds of games on console. It's not beating a dead horse to compare differences to see which console version is best and by what margin. Comparisons like these have been done since the Snes, Genesis days.
I see the logic these days is "Why waste time comparing consoles, compare consoles to PC". I don't care for PC and never will, it's just not for everyone. Console gamers who have both consoles would like to know what the better experience is and why. Just because fanboys turn it into a mudslinging show doesn't mean we shouldn't compare.
back in 2013: "every Xbox One game will be running in 1080p couple of years from now". In 2016 the console has trouble with a Souls game, a series known to look very outdated.
You thought it was possible to optimize a potato which was mainly created to stream movies and play your yearly Call of Dooty?
'In 2016 the console has trouble with a Souls game, a series known to look very outdated.'
Which has nothing to do with how well a console runs a game, take minecraft for example, it may not look like much in the graphics department but it is a VERY performance intensive game.
http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1183939-why-such-high-system-requirements-for-minecraft/
You lot clearly know Eff all about how games actually run on hardware, you could code a game with Block graphics from the 80's that could kill a high end PC dead in it's tracks.
You seem to forget that Souls games run on a modified propriety engine designed for the Ps3
Prime example being the Unreal engine, despite the PS3 being marginally more powerful then the 360 it still couldn't run the unreal engine anywhere near as well as the Xbox 360 which is why Unreal 3 on the 360 had upgraded graphics over the PS3 version.

The question posed wasn't why aren't we comparing DS3 between X1 and PS4, its why aren't we talking about the fact that X1 version runs at a lower resolution. I don't see much point in discussing that. The X1 is weaker. That is a moot point or dead horse.
Face-off article is up.http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-dark-souls-3-face-off
In shortly : PS4 even at higher res is more 30fps solid than Xbone version at lower res.
See that @ronvalencia but but but if the PS4 version is 1080p and the xbox one 900p the xbox one should be equal or faster..lol
Is a trend we are seeing in a more consistent way with each release.
