It is better to own for 8 than to resell for 5

if you had the choice you would pick owning everytime

So please compare libraries of games not some rentals

@dynamitecop

there is no police for what kind of PC one gets

In the past PC was MUCH MORE expensive because consoles were sold at huge loss

Especially the 360 in 2005...a PC at that time required at least $1000 machine to match it

The Xbone this gen proved to be a crappy pos that is sold at huge profit

PCs popularity can be attributed to the fact that one can enjoy all console games (multiplats and Xbone games) plus PC exclusives at $500 real world cost...

Hermits are as delusional as ever, claiming that only PC gamers are core players, dismissing console and handheld gamers as being all casual, and that the hardware you buy is what makes you a certain kind of gamer. I've been gaming as long, or longer than some of the people in this thread claiming to be the Jesus of hardcore gamers because they game on PC, and I prefer handhelds and consoles.

I know PC has more quality games, but even so there are more than enough quality titles on consoles and handheld to keep dedicated gamers busy, depending on the genres they prefer. It all comes down to personal preference, and anyone telling you different is being unconditionally biased and/or trolling.

Well said.

Except he is on system wars..... and that same lame-ass argument can be said about literally everything said in this forum.

Lol, whatever you say man... but his point is 100% correct. But I'm sure you'll try to bullsh** your way around it just for sh**s & giggles.

1- You don't need to spend $5000 to enjoy current gen games

2- You don't need to upgrade every 6 months

3- No viruses

4- Game settings aren't a hassle

5- You don't have to update your drivers on a weekly basis

Is that enough for you?

1. $1200 PC I built nearly four years ago now, plays current gen games radically superior to consoles

2. haven't upgraded anything in two years

3. uhhhh viruses are not guaranteed, try looking at less free porn pages

4. game settings being able to be changed is one of the biggest strengths of pc gaming and one of the biggest weaknesses of console gaming

5. upgrade graphics card driver like once every few months and it's an automated procedure that requires about three mouse clicks and 2 minutes, and it lets me know when it needs to be done

Try again.

Troll detected.

Why I game on console? NHL series. If it was on PC, I would go PC only without hesitation.

@True_Gamer_: you can't even answer my questions. And no, I don't prefer owning games forever, I play them once through and never touch it again. Guess I'm just a different kind of gamer. I never said I rent games. I buy them, so I own them. It's just that I resell them because I don't need it anymore.

1. Good gaming PC costs around $700-1000. Nobody needs Titan X's with Xeon processors and liquid cooling to enjoy a game

2. You really don't need to. Plus you will need to upgrade your xbone soon enough anyway according to M$

3. Viruses don't come in from playing video games but from when you browse unsafely on internet. And this is going to happen anyway with your computer and you are going to use a computer in your life

4. Neither on PC. Most games come with default settings which are automatically adjusted as per hardware

5. Companies release stable drivers every few months.

Atleast give me a challenge

Try convincing a GTA buyer to finish it...By the time one is done with the game it will sell for pennies

Same for loads of other genres that are not movie 8 hour joke games

So any respectable gamer will purchase and keep 5-10 games per year...

Thats 50-60 euros per game...

Oh and as for that price...its called offline mode learn to use it. (btw having friends never hurt anyone)

Convenience. Simple as that.

Edit: I would like to clarify that it is a pro to owning a console over a PC. I would always recommend getting a PC over a console. From my experience, however, they have been known to be a pain in the ass sometimes, in terms of maintenance and such.

I'll only speak for my self :
I've been a Console gamer before I start working and get money . simply because I didn't have money to buy my Ideal gaming PC . I could only convince family to buy me a Xbox for my gaming needs .
but now that I have money of course I play on a decent PC . it's not about power or graphics , I simply like Strategy ,MMO and RPG games that are only on PC , games are cheaper , Multiplayer is free , so in the long term PC gaming is actually cheaper . and also you have control over you hardware and your game . you can install mods , you can delete some files ... . so yeah , I really don't see a reason to get Console over PC beside Money .

who gives a hoot about online?

Its beyond crap on most games

I enjoy my library of games with my 2 buddies

Offline mode works wonders

Espesially on games like Just cause and Tomb raider

If the only console offering was Xbox One, I'd chose PC, but Sony and Nintendo exist.

To say pc gaming is more expensive is wrong. I personally do it because its cheaper because. I buy brand new gaming computer (500 if I just need it to run all games 800 if you care about graphics 1500 if you care about graphics and want to do vr multiple monitors ect). Anyways then inbetween steam sales humble bundle and serial sites you can get games for normally about 1/2 to 2/3 off. No monthly subscription to allow me to play games online. Cheaper peripherals like mics headsets 5-10 bucks vs 50-150.

So assuming I buy a game a month instead of paying 60 I pay 30 over 12 months I save 360 bucks. I have computer for 2-3 yrs so total that savings at 700-1100 plus I save the yearly cost of paying to have access to multiplayer for the games you bought. So the price difference 300 with another 100-200 in peripherals for console vs 800 dollar computer. Now heres where real savings come when you finally get rid of console to buy a new one. You bundle it all yours games controllers everything and get 200-300. I get to keep all my games and last 800 dollar computer I sold it was actually after 4yrs of owning it and I got 600. Meaning next computer was only a couple hundred.

The intial investment is more but the long term savings is DRASTIC and as for exclusives there are tons for pc literally more than all available games for xbox and ps combined. Many are great space engineers fortnite dreadnaught portal knights. Pretty much all the biggest mmos and strategy games.

Have a ps4 and a switch/new 3ds xl for exclusives.

Ps4's 2017 is kind of disgustingly good and it's strong this year as well with games like ratchet and clank, world of final fantasy, the tomorrow children (if you're of that niche who like the resource grind), the last guardian, the king of fighters xiv, alienation, etc etc

3ds/switch has pokemon, mario, super smash bros, mario kart, likely luigi's mansion, probably a digital store for switch for wii u games like bayonetta 2, monster hunter, etc etc

I'm deciding if i want a switch or new 3ds xl, i already have a ps4 (for exclusives really), and I game on pc. I just bought 13 games + that 1.99 bundle on bundlestars.

Console gaming is just more fun, unless you're into point n click strategy games. They both have their positives and negatives, neither one is perfect. I'm in the UK and can get a PS4, FIFA 17 and Uncharted 4 for £199. Noway can I buy a PC with brand new games for £199 that does the same thing.

I know IF I buy a the PS4, when I go home, I can just plug and play and it will work. So not only is it cheaper, it will be reliable, it's easier, it's more accessible. This is just a fact.

some people just don't want the hassle of PC. I get it. Don't get me wrong PC is definitely way more accessible than in the past but people are lazy. Also exclusives. Me I like PC and consoles. I never saw the need to draw a line in the sand.

Agreed. So many of my friends are on console and I like playing or chatting with them. I never bitched about what amounts to $5/month for Live/PSN+. I have spent more money in a year on bottled water.

@unrealgunner:

Why don't you keep taking cheap shots of other nationalities?

I mean clearly you're Superior to us Americans. Who else are you Superior too?

Back on topic.

A console is cheaper than an equal PC, Consoles are far more power efficient than PC's. and they take up less space underneath the tv. Gaming isn't important enough for most people to drop serious money on a descent rig not to mention raising your electric bill.

Incoming all the build your own PC stories that don't include the price of the OS, keyboard, mouse and controller which are already included in the console. Right now you can get an Xbox One S for $250 with a game, controller and UHD player.

I would like for someone to Show me a Pre built PC with a comparable GPU with all the value of an Xbox One S for $250.
