10 times the price? Consoles must cost between 30- 60 dollars then.

ROFLCOPTER603
What? You really believe a decent gaming PC costs $3000? You can max out anything on the market today with less than $1000. You can do a pretty good bit better than consoles for around $500 or less depending on how much of a difference you want to see.maybe because PC is expensive. its almost 10 times the price of a console. sure the graphics are better on PCs but not 10 times better.

[QUOTE="firefluff3"]Have fun with your voice chat on ps3 lol. Is there a problem with voice chat on Ps3? I don't think so. As long as you're all playing the same game its fine. PS3 still needs cross game chat, though.[QUOTE="ROFLCOPTER603"]

Cross game chat would be nice, no doubt about that.
So tell me, what about friends playing other things make it better?
Ask yourself that question first.
For me, I like the social part of it. It's the same game (minus the graphics) whether it's on PC or 360, but if I play on 360 I get to talk to my friends.
ROFLCOPTER603
Because the same game on PC is a completely different experience.
Consolite logic at its finest, people. Do no try this at home, irreparable collateral brain damage may be likely.
I guess if my friends listened to lady gaga, that automatically makes her better than anyone else I listen to.
Didn't we already throw away the "jump off a bridge" argument?
ROFLCOPTER603
We never used it, it's you that still clinges on to it because there is no other straw to claw on.

Again, consolite logic at its finest. No logic or coherence, just throw out anything that comes in mind and act like it's true.
And you wonder why PC gamers are called elitists

I agree 100% that PCs are better than consoles. Better graphics, larger lobbies, mods, more precision on shooters, etc. But the only problem is that a good gaming PC costs a lot. And you may need to keep upgrading it with memory and the such.
Edit: Spelling mistake

ok. i admit i over-exaggerated on that. maybe just 4 times the price of a console. i have a pc which i built last year cost me around $1400 (with i7-860, radeon 5850, win7home). i compared Mass effect 2 on my pc and ps3. and based on my observation, pc has sharper graphics than ps3. but its not 4 times better than ps3.

You could have easily built say a 600 dollar computer and been able to get Mass Effect 2 to play with way better graphics of a Ps3.

Well if your concern is to max out ME2 the last thing you need is a i7 and a 5850. My friend had an anthon x4 or whatever that is with a 5770 and it ran it through the roof.Did you put any though into that post whatsoever?[QUOTE="gmaster456"][QUOTE="boybrushdred"]

Its different on a game by game basis. Some games looks more than 4x better. Some games only look 2-3x better. But in the end, a gaming PC is always worth it. Besides, spending $1400 wasn't necessary unless you were including the monitor. A kickass PC can be had for $700-800 which is only 2-2.5x the cost of a console and its even less if you factor in 2 years of XBL Gold or PSN+ ($120) which you'll have to pay for in order to get stuff thats included in steam for free. That and games a dirt cheap even when they're not on sale (with only a few exceptions). In the end PC gaming can actually be cheaper. Especially when you consider the fact that PC gamers don't upgrade their PC's anywhere near as often as people think they do.Most of my friends don't own any systems so they come to my house to play. Does PC have local multiplayer games?
Bigboi500
Yes. I will just dwell with splitscreen for you though local muliplayer also means Lan which is 1000's of Pc games.
Games I have that me and friends play coop off my PC onto my hdtv.
I could go on but thats what I have on my computer at the moment. Nothing better then using SNES, 360, ps2, ps3 controllers to play with friends. Everyone gets to use their favorite controller.
Of course :). Ever hear of a LAN party? Most of my friends don't own any systems so they come to my house to play. Does PC have local multiplayer games?

Haha. Great sig. I love that game. Yet another joyous experience not happening (and certainly not possible) on consoles. :P$400 for a brand new machine

With a 700-800 PC you're laughing. Especially if you live in the US, you can get parts way cheaper then most countries.
That doesnn't include all the money you save with Steam.MrSelf-Destruct

I remember folks saying this alot last year in SW then a Steam big sale hit and folks got really quiet... Regardless, I use all services.. Nothing better then picking up Shogun 2 a week before release for 40 dollars with rome total war thrown in by buying on D2d and activating on steam.

Steam alone PWNS the consoles. Nothing beats the great service and the INSANE deals that Steam have. I mean for crying out loud, for Xbox Live you have to pay $50 each year, so for 6 years you would have spent $300 just for Xbox Live service which is FREE through PC's Steam. $300? That's half the cost of descent gaming rig and that doesn't even include the price of the Xbox 360 itself. LOL. So, in essence for the price of a Xbox 360 + Xbox Live you could have brought a gaming rig that will run games at higher resolutions and settings, have MOD support, and the great deals for games through Steam and it's services.
Sound's like a PC is a win-win situation to me.

Amazon has those games on sale (hint: slash mark through list price. Offered price in red.). Now watch how much cheaper they'll be when Steam puts them on sale. Bioshock 2 was going for $5 recently. And please tell me where I can find Portal 2 for less than $45 and releasing 2 days early?[QUOTE="MrSelf-Destruct"]
