Because noone really can possibly like playing games on a desk and tiny screen and paying an arm and a leg for that too
Yes,because you're forced playing on a tiny screen on your desk and it costs a fortune to build a PC.

This is amazing. No one has still answered the question, you all just jump around. Talk about insecurity. I love gaming on my PC and all, but wow PC fanboys are just ridiculous.
Some of us actually answered the question, but then again... Many of you are showing a very short attention span or selective reading
If they liked - or even capable of - reading, they wouldn't be such console fanboys :o )
@MonsieurX:
Still waiting for an answer.
I'll give you an answer.
Because GOTY's are an opinion and if you need someone else's opinion to validate your own then you are a moron, sir/madame/twit.
A GOTY isn't a standard, it's an award given by some dude(s) on a gaming site that says "I liked this game more than all of the rest this year". So what?
There is more variety in games on a PC than found on all of the consoles combined. And that is what is more important.
I was thinking about the odds and probabilities. Since the pc has "the most games," you'd think it would stand the chance of snatching the most goty awards. But they didn't even nail one. Does this mean that pc, while having the largest library of games, has also the largest library of non goty worthy games?
PC - 0
360 - 1 (at the time of winning, Gears was exclusive)
Wii - 1
PS3 - 3
PC - 0 yet League of Legends , a totally free game making hunderds of millions per year as we speak and more than 30M unique players login monthly to play ( and thats a statistic like almost 2 years ago ).
I dont give a crap if some people voting something as GOTY when PC has such hidden diamonds that i play almost every day with friends , having fun while its FREE. Only on PC. Everything else is just ... history. ( who still playing those GOTY games as we speak because im still playing League of Legends and having fun)
Keep your GOTY , i keep non GOTY all happy.
Because PC has a weak exclusive library for the type of games that gets the vast majority of GOTYs. Singleplayer, storydriven, third/first-person, high production values, RPG/Action-adventure types of games.
PC is more about MP, strategy, MMO, top down view, indie and so on.
What the heck are you talking about !! DAAAMN!! hahaha! I cant even take you seriously after that ... Its eithe you are too young into video gaming or if not ... clearly you never been a PC gamer ... I would suggest you to go educate yourself about video gaming history and what PC achieved then we can talk again.

If you need to move your PC in the living room just for gaming and happen to have a job that requires working on one, then you need to buy another for work
That brings us to your argument #2, which is totally defeated by the fact that you need a gaming PC above PS4 (1200$+) and a work PC (600-2000+) depending on the work, which is the price of 5 PS4
Unless you happen to have the superhuman ability to actually work on the living room where you watch movies, play games and the whole family is running around all day, which is cool for you
Plus PS4 will last 5-7 years and PC is old after 2-3 or less
People say the PC has higher standards. I don't understand their point. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have higher standards than the 3DS, but didn't a handheld Zelda game win last year.
It beat out Grand Theft Auto 5 and The Last Of Us.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 have higher standards than the Wii, but it still won a GOTY. So I don't get what standards have to do with anything.
PC is strong platform on it's own, but has nothing quite unique or fantastic to show off. It had that chance with Rome 2 and blew it. I am honestly bored with PC gaming at the moment.

All dem excuses
@jhonMalcovich:
Why are you speculating on what might happen, instead of answering the thread title question? :-/
Sushiglutton is the only one who has given their thoughts on the topic at hand.
Well, you haven't even attempted to answer your own question. You made a bait thread, and then wonder why people react negatively to it? If you want to start a discussion, include your own thoughts on the matter, rather than making a bait thread and then being a dick.
OT: Since PC is an open platform, exclusive games receive no substantial backing from any platform holder. Without Sony or MS's backing, games like Demons Souls and Gears of War likely wouldn't have been published in their refined state.
PC gaming is an afterthought. Developers will not invest in a platform that is most prone to hacks and piracy. A lot of PC gamers do not appreciate honest work and feel the NEED to pirate if the game looks meh in their opinion but still interested. Console gamers are the master race for developers.
I think it's because it's financial suicide to make a high fidelity game exclusively to the PC, since most people run on computers no more powerful than the office workstation. While Valve's seasonal sales have helped PC gaming become something that's socially acceptable, it still doesn't change the fact that most of the computers sold are basic everyday use computers, as some people's budgets don't really allow for a gaming PC.

That would make sense if it wasn't because of the fact pre-built everyday use computers are not selling and they've been consistently dropping in sales last year while PC games just keep going up and more and more people are gaming on the PC
It didn't win one because Gamespot decided to not give it one? Why are these kinds of conversations limited to Gamespot? Plenty of other large sites gave PC games their GoTY awards.
The real question is who cares? You'd be lying to yourself if you didn't recognize the recent Total War, Dota2, Portal, and numerous other franchises as among the best in their genres ever created. Play games. Don't worry about the personal preferences and opinions of a single outlet. That's dumb.
@lostrib: Nope. Its the truth. PC doesnt get everything. It misses out on a lot in fact
You mean missing out on Dragon Commander, Starcraft II, Total War, Simcity 4, the Sims, X-universe games, Black and White, Sins of a Solar Empire, Crusader Kings, Supreme Commander, Dawn of War, Guild Wars, WoW, King's Bounty, and Civilization?
or do you mean Saint's Row, Tomb Raider, Dirt, Skyrim, Mass Effect, the Witcher, Borderlands, Max Payne, and XCOM?
Because we got those.
What are we missing out on that rabid greasy consolites on this board prefer? Solid games like Forza, Fight Night, and Soul Calibur?
No.
Games beloved for their "compelling narratives", "rich characterizations", 30 second learning curves, and almost 20 hours of gameplay before they end up used at GameStop. A lot of QTEs and cutscenes, oh dear.
