I don't cringe. If it wasn't for the failure rate, I'd probably get one. BUt I meet to many people who says they're on their 5th Xbox.GKinnelthey had older systems and MS just keeps fixing the older the systems. The newer ones don't have that type issue.
[QUOTE="sakura_Ex"]The same reason 360 owners cringe at the thought of buying a PS3,see it works both ways.Andrew_Xavier
You do realize there is a huge difference between 360 owners and lemmings right?
just as there is a difference between cows and PS3 owners, sheep and Wii owners, and hermits and PC gamers.
He has an old model obviously that is why I am saying you overblowing it. The newer models don't have that many problems, if any problems at all. Also like I said they are still improving. Since you don't have one if you bought one, you might not have any issues at all.too_much_eslim
What proof do you have that shows the newer 360s have better realiability. Do you think they would have bothered offering a 3 year warranty for all their systems if they could easily fix the problem with the newer systems, of course not. They took a billion dollar hit there, if it was only the older consoles with the problem they would just give a warranty to the older consoles.
When RROD is not a problem a more, you will know because MS will be the first to toot their own horn.

Overblown hardware problems.
Scratching disks, disc tray problems, RROD, freezes, black screen with white dots, pieces falling apart in the system, overheating, etc.
You just overblown the hardware problems. MS made great strides in improving the hardware reliabilty and is still doing so.Now listen there is no way I am saying it is okay for the sysetm to break down.
That gimmick 3 year warranty is almost up. Some customers warranty expire this winter. So what happens when 360s break and they have to pay additional for repairs.
Say they purchased a 360 at $399, and have to pay for repairs, that alone jacks up the price beyond the PS3.
I am not overblowing it. My cousin, the only 360 owner in the family is on his 4th 360 already.
It should be a Lifetime Warranty. 3 years? Many people plan to play their console alot longer than that. MS is just gonna piss off people when they have to pay for their own repairs.

He are wondering how long it will last.
Got a 360 Christmas of 2006-It broke by March 2007, so he gets a new one through Best Buy replacement plan. Now his second one breaks around May, gets a new one. It lasted up until April 2008, so now he is on his 4th one.
MS have done this SKU and new models before. Wait for the Jasper, Wait for the Falcon, Wait for the Birdman, Wait for whatever chip name they give them.
I don't cringe. If it wasn't for the failure rate, I'd probably get one. BUt I meet to many people who says they're on their 5th Xbox.GKinnel
Mine died after 1.5 years of hard gaming. My refurb (same console) has been getting even more use then before and I haven't had a single problem now for 4 months.
I'm not worried at all.
[QUOTE="Javy03"]Yes the 360 has made great strides in the JRPG department but its far from a reason to buy the system. So far the JRPGs that are exclusive to the 360 that have released have been far from stellar.
Andrew_Xavier
Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey disagree with that statement...
I haven't tried ES yet, but I just started playing Lost Odyssey and it's VERY good. Surprisingly so considering the tepid reaction it gets. It's an excellent JRPG. I thought the lead character was the usual JRPG brooding chump and them boom! they throw in a major curve that really made me like him..Kaim is a great character. And the dream stories are REALLY good.Cows are more afraid people and lacks courage. They really fear the rrod. These people are more likely to fall for fear propaganda. I just hope they'll open their eyes and see the better video gaming console. Jump in.
[QUOTE="too_much_eslim"] link? Only Eternal Sonata is going to the PS3 and that is Japan only. If TOV goes that is Japan Only. IU, SO4, LO, and many more is 360 exclusive. While FFXII is big it is only one game. What JRPG fan only plays FF?Javy03
And what JRPG fan plays the majority of their JRPGs from mainly one company. Mistwalker is the company contributing most of the 360s JRPGs. I can buy a game from Japan and play it on my PS3 because the games are region free. SO4 has yet to prove if it will remain "exclusive", it wont come out till 09 and they arent ruling out a PS3 version.

Because I hate microsoft and the way they are buying themselves into the gaming industry and how they strive for monopoly and forcing the consumers to chose their product like with their operative system. The only thing they are really good at is business and dominating their competition by stealing ideas and marketing. No reliable MS source has confirmed that these new chips and improvements help the realiability. Its all been speculation. The truth is we dont even 100% know what causes RROD because MS wont release that info, all we have are a few guesses from people who gutted their 360s.
The truth is that all devs do these changing of chip sizes, etc. and its not to increase reliability but to make it cheaper to produce for the manufacterer. Trust me when MS fixes the RROD problem THEY will announce its fix.

You just overblown the hardware problems. MS made great strides in improving the hardware reliabilty and is still doing so.Now listen there is no way I am saying it is okay for the sysetm to break down.
Which improvement worked..........thank you and plez come again!
[QUOTE="GARRYTH"]Once again if money is a major issue then gaming should be the last thing you should be worrying about. If your on such a tight budget then instead of gaming you should find ways to make extra money. This is for people who make it sound like they are just barely making it and that is never a good thing.who ever said to stop gaming because you can't affort 2 systems is a stupid comment. when you have a wife and two children and bills. so my wife said pick one console and i chose the ps 3 because of the falty hardware of the 360. no need to baby sit my system. i also don't need to watch the clock to see how long i have been playing ect.
if i have extra money this year i will buy it for fable 2 because that game looks great. i rather have a few less games to chioce from than having a dead system and sending it in for repairs.
i don't gringe i just don't have the money i rather spend my money on more games.

Also i don't babysit my 360. I have left it on for more than 24 hours a lot of times.
To say someone shouldn't game because they can't afford every system is absurd. Infact it's very rude. I know we all have our biases, but to tell someone they shouldn't "game" because they dont' have your system of choice, that's pretty low. Infact there are a lot of people that are still buying the PS2, you know why?? Because they like video games but can't afford a PS3, X360, or even a Wii. You should feel very fortunate for what you have, it can change in a moment.

Smaller chips mean less heat and less power.
Heat is the issue the 360 has a problem with due to the solder and clamps.
Shrinking the CPU and GPU will relieve this problem. The added heat sink to the GPU also helps this problem.
I provide you links and you still don't believe. the publishers which is SE said no.too_much_eslim
[UPDATE] But while The Last Hope is currently 360-only, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagish told reporters in Tokyo that a PlayStation 3 version might be possible further down the line. "We can't really say anything yet," he said during a post-announcement press conference. "The answer to that is that, there's really nothing set at the moment. We can't say right now that it will or won't come out. It could go either way. The only thing that we can confirm right now is that it's coming out first on the Xbox 360."

Then that is why they shouldn't be gaming. Gaming is probaly one of teh most expensive hobbies. If it isn't finacially sound how on earth did you afford a $600, $500, or $400 system.[QUOTE="too_much_eslim"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]Could be a money thing? Perhaps a lot of people in here are fanboys because they simply can't afford the console. CubanBlunt
Who are you to be tell someone that they shouldnt be gaming (in general). You DO NOT have to have all 6 system to be a gamer. I work, I can buy whatever I want and when I want. Money is a issue for some people. Its a difference between needs and wants, you might want all 6, but dont need all 6.
6 systems: PS3, Wii, 360, PSP, DS, PC.......incase someone try and come out there mouth with summ'em slick.
If your having problems affording just one system why are you wasting your time playing games. Use that time to better yiourself and improve your finacial situation. That is only logical.[QUOTE="Javy03"][QUOTE="Truth_Hurts_U"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Best Buy PRP FTW! My Sony warranty was up, so I would've been royally ya know. I took it into Best Buy and swapped that crapper out for a new one. I ALWAYS get a warranty, because as much as sheep and cows wish; nothing is perfect.

Hope it wasn't a 60 GB. IF my 60 GB broke I would me majorly pee'd off.
Sony replaces your console with the same type of console. My friends 20GB broke and he payed for repairs and they gave him another 20GB PS3.
I don't go through companies. I get warranties at stores and get me a brand spankin' new console.
Thats cool but most of the time Warrantys are just a rip.

They no longer make 20 GB boards... Nor 60 GB boards. Once they run out of stock for repairs what am I going to get? I surly don't want a crappy 40 GB or 80 GB model.
