so new IP is system seller but the other one is not?
i will buy both games but i do not understand this LOGIC

I don't see neither being system sellers.
Mass Effect though has the right to be considered GOTY worthy simply on developer rep alone.
Uncharted is just an action adventure game that simply looks fun. I'll be getting both most likely but I don't see either of them as system sellers.
BioWare perhaps?Nagidarthere it is.
they make great games, where every one builds on the last (JE was great)
also, uncharted doesnt look like its anything new

Also bring the fact that Wrpgs never sold well on console. KOTOR sold nearly 1.2 million copies. Gundam for the PS3 only sold 200k less than that...
Both will sell systems. How many will they sell? That is yet to be determined. Mass Effect has a way more epic vibe though.
I am not going to call either one a system seller yet , but I think Mass Effect could get to that system seller status in my book if it can sell 3 million copies sold, whichI think it will sell at least a couple of million with the hype , anticipation , reviews , and history of wrpgs selling well on xbox consoles.
As good as Uncharted looks to me personally , I feel that it probably won't sell like it should. I don't even have faith that it will get to a million.
All we can do is wait.
Imo both are games worthy of buying a console for. Mass effect brings Bioware's track record of being a great WRPG maker with KOTOR and (Jade Empire...not really an RPG, but whatever)behind them on the XBOX. I personally think that Uncharted looks like a great game and should help push PS3's off store shelves this holiday season.
The difference is that the hype for these two games couldnt be more polar opposites. 360 fanboys are just salivating over what Mass Effect looks to offer. Based on what KOTOR did on the XBOX, I think it issafe to say that MassEffect will be a sure fire hit! While I just dont get the same sense of excitement form the Sony fans over Uncharted. I here far too many "Tomb Raider with a guy" comments!!! I think that once it gets reviewed and is in the hands of gamers, Uncharted will sell very well and will sell some PS3's as well!
there it is.[QUOTE="Nagidar"]BioWare perhaps?Awinagainov

Bioware does make great games....no doubt, but generally they sell far less then they should....
and before people throw out KOTOR unto me.....you have to rember that KOTAR was on 2 platforms (though I guess its likely mass effect will be on the PC eventually)...and most importantly that KOTAR was a starwars game...Im a positive that that had a huge effect on sales.
The difference is that Bioware is an established company at making good RPGs.

They still don't sell
Non are really system sellers, I dont see a casual playing Mass Effect, mabye some, casual gamers seem to have ADD when it comes to playing games for a long time. I see more casuals wanting to play somthing like Uncharted, but none of them know about it.
So yea, I dont think either will sell a whole lot of systems on there own.

I actually agree with him....They really dont sell as well as most people expect them to...KOTAR did sell well..but it had Starwars in its name....and that obviously would have had a large effect on Sales.
I think that Mass Effect is too niche to be a system seller.thinicer
Bioware have a much larger online community than even Gamespot. It's one of the largest gaming communities on the internet.

I could be wrong. I mean what are we comparing Bioware sales to? If you talking about blockbuster sales like Halo, GT, Mario, than I'm right. However, if we talking about Big Rigs, Gundam, and Monster Ranchers, than Bioware is awesome...
Both have the potential, but after seeing what MS's marketing machine did for Bioshock (an apparently "hardcore" game), god only knows what they can do with Mass Effect. Sony's marketing team (at least in my experience) isn't anywhere near as good. Plus I figure Mass Effect is going to turn out to be the better game. I'm not saying Uncharted will be bad, put I've got my money on Mass Effect winning GOTY.PBSnipes
people expected Bioshock to be a "hardcore" game because of SS2 and everything that was promissed for it....unfortunatly what ended up happining was one of the easiet games in recent memory, and gameplay that was fairly simple....the only thing the game trualy shined in was story, and enviroment.

Bioware games sell loads man. Neverwinter Nights has sold three million copies, which is a gargantuan amount for a PC game.
Because they're lemmings?GunnerVIII
Stop right there! Bioware have traditionally focused on PC development. It is only recently that they have shifted focus to Xbox development as well.
Whichever way you look at it, Mass Effect is a much bigger system seller than Uncharted.

Oh my bad, I thought we were talking about console gaming.
Because MS fanboys love to hype everything about the 360. If they stopped hyping their console for a second, they would realize that it wasn't perfect and that there are indeed problems with it.Zhengi
shouldn't you be telling cows this instead of lemmings?

i don't know what will sell more. but what i do know is that past ND console games have sold more than Bioware games.Â[QUOTE="Lilac_Benjie"][QUOTE="GunnerVIII"]Because they're lemmings?RedMarzBoy

PS2 - over 100 million consoles.
User base, man, user base.
[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]Aren't Naughty Dogs the devs with a better track record in having less flops? Even without that its just not smart to discredit one game because of who the developer may be.ToScA-
I don't think Naughty Dog has a legion of fans.
Crash is a bigger name than any Bioware game to the general public. its like the mario of the playstation world.
