But that's just it, they're coming out. Those are all games that will only give the 360 a boost in sales if anything. I don't see a whole lot in the future that will boost sales for the PS3 other than a price cut, which the 360 will be getting soon anyways. A price cut on the 360 will almost put it in the Wii's price range, which is a runaway success due to its affordability and games. The 360, as I just mentioned, has games and when a price cut comes along, affordability. The PS3 isn't affordable for the mainstream market and it doesn't have any high-profile games to warrant that price tag....

Sales are slowing down for the 360 and its selling terribly in Japan and Asia as a whole, and you know why that is? Because of competition, the 360 may have a years head start but now that the PS3 and Wii are out, people are getting more of a selection of consoles to choose from and the fanbase for systems is still there, regardless of pricepoints, people are loyal to the brands they trust and will purchase the consoles they want. Nintendo is serving up a nice helping of innovation this gen and the PS3, while expensive is pushing Blu Ray as the new storage medium and people want new experiences in gaming. There may not be phenominal games out for both the PS3 and Wii but there are games on the way that will no doubt move some units, and the Wii will be like the PS2 last gen and going for a more casual audience with games like No More Heroes, GTA (rumored), Sadness and Resident Evil: UC even though it has considerably weaker hardware then the competition. Remember when the PS2 came out, it cost like 500 dollars in some places even though it was clearly already out of date hardware wise compared to PC's, yet it was inferior to the GC and Xbox by a huge margain? It still wound up selling the most units, so dont think that just because the Wii is weaker then the 360 or PS3 doesnt mean that it wont sell the most units, its pushing more then just the controller as a new gaming experience, its also going for a more affordable price tag with great games. The 360 has the lead right now, but sales are slowing and the competition is underway, dont count out the PS3 because of its price tag or the weaker hardware of the Wii.DSgamer64

Well, the X360 will continue with shooters but the genere is slowing down. MS has more than shooters and it's showing. Mass Effect looks amazing and has put a hell of a spin on RPGs, they've also been fortunate enough to get some other tiles that were once exclusive, the online features are second to none. The Wii is awesome and definitely has the potential to win, but the Wii is still lacking games. The X360 has a quite a few titles that are yet to be released that are poised for GOY, within their respective generes. For example: Fable 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect, DMC4, Dirt, GTA4, Lost Oddessey, and Blue Dragon. Mind you, 4 of those titles are RPGs. Those games will be able to make a few welts on the Asian market. I think those are great enough reasons on why the X360 is poised to win this generation over, at least for right now.

The 360 first off had a huge supply problem the demand was there; just wasnt any supply. And that was for about 4-5 months after launch. That supply issue hurt MS; nothing you can do about that I suppose. The PS3 is not outselling the 360 here just look at last times numbers the PS3 got outsold by the damn GBA. It may have outsold the 360 for the launch but the numbers still say the PS3 lags behind both the Wii and 360 in terms of sales.

1: 360 has been out for over a year. Most people with gaming interests have already bought the 360. PS3 is newer so it obviously would receive a bit of more attention (at first). It's like saying: HEY LOOK! HALO 2 is selling Faster than Halo 1 right now!

2: Total numbers of consoles sold show a different result: 10+ million > 1+million

Dude, the PS3 doesnt even have Europe or Aussie let alone NA.

In Europe maybe, but Aussie and NA? I highly doubt it.

The PS3 is consistently selling less than the Xbox 360 in the US, and has yet to outsell the 360 in one month, let alone the whole year.

I don't think I need to remind you how badly the PS3's launch flopped in Australia. When the Xbox 360 launched there, it became the fastest selling console in Australian history. Can't say the same for the PS3.

And somebody is forgetting the fact that 360's were in massive shortage through the end of March, which is when they finally came into supply. If the PS3 (which has been in supply on store shelves since December) is barely outselling the 360 at the five month life cycle, that is pretty pathetic.

It doesn't change the fact, but my point still stands.
