[QUOTE="gamerdude27"]Thank you! Someone with an education! :D Reading Rainbow! It's in a book. Just take a look. Reading Rainbowwwwww![QUOTE="2largeadults"][QUOTE="Javy03"]If you went to the link you will see they are comparing the 360 and the PS3 at the same stage, the 5 month life cycle so they are comparing the 360s sales when it was new to the PS3s sales when it was new.2largeadults
And somebody is forgetting the fact that 360's were in massive shortage through the end of March, which is when they finally came into supply. If the PS3 (which has been in supply on store shelves since December) is barely outselling the 360 at the five month life cycle, that is pretty pathetic.
Doesn't change the fact that the PS3 is just as healthy as the 360 was at the same time. Reports of a "flop" were very premature.Initially it sold pretty good for like the first couple months. The 360 has supply issues but I will give you that. Now its sales are pretty sad in my opinion especially for a console that is suppose to have this "100 million user base" and suppose to be in such high demand right now. The PS3 is a mediocre system with mediocre games and mediocre sales. Take a look at its recent launches (EU and Aussie) and watch Sony put a major spin cycle on it.
Heard it from me Wii will pass the 360 in September 2007, and PS3 will pass 360 in January 2008. 360 is a great system, but they need to stay in it's place, and that's dead last. Shooters don't make the gaming industry.[QUOTE="shungokustasu"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"]Sales are slowing down for the 360 and its selling terribly in Japan and Asia as a whole, and you know why that is? Because of competition, the 360 may have a years head start but now that the PS3 and Wii are out, people are getting more of a selection of consoles to choose from and the fanbase for systems is still there, regardless of pricepoints, people are loyal to the brands they trust and will purchase the consoles they want. Nintendo is serving up a nice helping of innovation this gen and the PS3, while expensive is pushing Blu Ray as the new storage medium and people want new experiences in gaming. There may not be phenominal games out for both the PS3 and Wii but there are games on the way that will no doubt move some units, and the Wii will be like the PS2 last gen and going for a more casual audience with games like No More Heroes, GTA (rumored), Sadness and Resident Evil: UC even though it has considerably weaker hardware then the competition. Remember when the PS2 came out, it cost like 500 dollars in some places even though it was clearly already out of date hardware wise compared to PC's, yet it was inferior to the GC and Xbox by a huge margain? It still wound up selling the most units, so dont think that just because the Wii is weaker then the 360 or PS3 doesnt mean that it wont sell the most units, its pushing more then just the controller as a new gaming experience, its also going for a more affordable price tag with great games. The 360 has the lead right now, but sales are slowing and the competition is underway, dont count out the PS3 because of its price tag or the weaker hardware of the Wii.The_Game21x
Another fanboy comment from Shungokustasu, geez, it's really getting tiring reading this crap from you. As you always do, you overgeneralize about the 360. It's library DOES NOT solely consist of shooters as you always say. But then again, you overgeneralize because that's all you have. You conveniently gloss over the Xbox 360's other games because they destroy your argument.
I hate to break it to you but no one cares that you dislike shooters so much. They will continue to sell because they're good games. As of right now, your treasured PS3's best game is an FPS. A fact that you must hate coming to grips with.
First of all, I don't gloss over the 360 games. I've stated many time they have other genre on it's console, but the FOCUS of the console is just shooters. People like what i say ost of the time. Yeah, I may write a few fanboy comment just to break the mood, but I'm still the most logical Sony FanMan on here. No, if PS3 been out for a year and the majority of it's top selling games are shooters, then the PS3 will be label a shooter (I would be higly piss too). Top selling games on Xbox was Halo and Halo 2. Top selling games so far on 360 is GeoW and Lost Planet. sound like you're trying to convince yourself more than anything...
the 360 is #1....
keep your silly predictions about the ps3 to yourself... EVERY ps3 prediction has fallen flat...
so why should we think any different? ;)
ps... the poor ps3 sales must really be bugging you....
I really dont care about sales figures right now. The PS3 is selling and thats what matters, as long as it gains a fanbase is what matters, people are waiting for more games and thats the absolute truth. Sales are picking up for the PS3 with the impending releases of Lair and Heavenly Sword as well as current good titles like Motorstorm and Resistance which are fantastic titles regardless of what stupid reviewers think. The Wii has sold over half of what the 360 has in 5 months, just goes to show you how pathetic the 360 really is if it cant even keep selling more then a console that is substantially weaker, it just means there is very little demand now for the 360 and that the demand for the Wii is increasing and PS3 sales stay stead enough, slowly but surely things will get rolling for Sony. The sales of the 360 are grinding down to a halt, in Japan there is such a massive sales drought that there is no hope for the 360 to win the console market if they cant outsell one cheap console and another that costs a lot more in one country.

Nope. It's all because the 360 sucks. As to Japan, please. Two Japanese companies outselling an American company whose lineup has yet to really appeal to them? DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN, I never saw that coming. Engage brain before operating mouth, please. -John

Shooters are fine in moderation, but there are far too many of them, same goes for RPG's. Not enough platformers and adventure games that are quality like Zelda and Oblivion. That is the absolute dumbest comment I've ever read. So if it had more sports games than shooters, it'd be a sports game console? You realize that now EVERY system must be shoehorned into a specific genre, because if there are more of one genre than of another, it is obviously only designed for that specific genre. Nevermind that of COURSE there will be a certain genre which is more popular than another on a specific console. -John[QUOTE="Mister_Bate"] Whats wrong with shooters? So video games killed people and not the automatic weapons and explosives the kids had? And I'm sure those kids didn't smoke any pot or doing any kind of drugs - oh no! it must of been the video games!
There was violence before video games and there will be violence if they were to disappear , stop posting uneducated garbage.
If you were so much against "so-called violence" caused by video games why did you buy a Ps3? derrrrrrrrrrrr. Buy a Wii and play Mario and shut your trap.Â

Oh, and to respond to the TC's question. Lemmings have hope of the 360 winning, just as Cows have hope that the PS3 will have a gigantic surge in hardware sales in the near future.

They need to, the system has good games, people realise that, and I know when they see the 360 drops 50 or more dollers they will realise the system is getting more and more worth it when more good games are coming out, and exclusives.

The 360 has the lead right now, but sales are slowing and the competition is underway, dont count out the PS3 because of its price tag or the weaker hardware of the Wii.bindip
i would of read that if it had paragraphsÂ
They havent tought him about paragraphs in his 1st grade class yet.
Because they're lemmings......lilrushHey, I'm a 360 fan myself, making fun of the grammar or spelling of others is less attached to a specific game system and more to a particular mentality. -John

You're all friggin' crazy.
The race will come down to the Commodore 64 and the Gizmondo, and the winner will be the one who gets the rights to "Ikari Warriors 27: geriatric badasses all up in your face with guns and pointy knives attached thereto."Â
[QUOTE="The_Game21x"][QUOTE="shungokustasu"][QUOTE="The_Game21x"]Heard it from me Wii will pass the 360 in September 2007, and PS3 will pass 360 in January 2008. 360 is a great system, but they need to stay in it's place, and that's dead last. Shooters don't make the gaming industry.[QUOTE="shungokustasu"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"]Sales are slowing down for the 360 and its selling terribly in Japan and Asia as a whole, and you know why that is?
When I make a claim it pretty much thought out and question many times before posting. I always look at the big picture. So don't hate on my post. And btw your PDZ sig is proving my point about the 360, lol.The Xbox 360's focus is not shooters, it's just what sells the most on the system. So since the PS3's top selling game is a shooter, should I automatically assume it's a shooter console? No, because that's broken logic. While you may claim to be the most logical sony fanboy, I have yet to see you prove that. "Looking at the big picture" is basically another way of dodging the argument that's right in front of your face.
I never said I didn't like Shooters. The FPS genre is my favorite in all of gaming. I've been playing them since my dad let me play Doom on his PC all those years ago.
Oh and FYI, my PD sig is an homage to Joanna Dark, the main protagonist in my favorite game of all time, Perfect Dark for the N64, not Perfect Dark Zero.
No, if PS3 been out for a year and the majority of it's top selling games are shooters, then the PS3 will be label a shooter (I would be higly piss too). Top selling games on Xbox was Halo and Halo 2. Top selling games so far on 360 is GeoW and Lost Planet. I see a trend... And if the shooters on that platform are actually good games, what's so bad about that? If the PS3 had nothing but RPG's, and most of em, or even all of em, were good, would that be bad? If the Wii had nothing but Zelda games, and they were all good, would that be bad? If you dislike shooters, and prefer other genre's, then fine. But at least wait until those other potentially good games from other genres come out on the 360, and determine whether they're any good or not, before giving the shooter label to another console just because the previous console had that label. If FFXIII, MGS4, and at least a couple other titles for the PS3 end up being high-quality games, I'm 90% sure I'll get the PS3 sometime late this year or next year. And it won't matter to me what "type" of games they are.
