It is actually coming to ps3. For proof, it is at the end of the 360 trailer. ;)
meatgrinderz
nothing has been confirmed for ps3.
So, 99% of chance it will happen. I call that confirmation. :)This topic is locked from further discussion.

because the forum is called system wars. the pc is fair game no matter what. a ps3 person could potentially be able to play the game without needing a 360.
CaseyWegner
Hi Casey! Anyways, I don't agree with you at all.
The PS3 and the 360 are the most similar when it comes to price, game libraries, functionality etc so they are going to be compared the most of all the systems out there. With that in mind, people are gonna wanna compare the games in the PS3 and 360 constantly, the term "console exclusive" makes complete sense here. If I wanted to point out that the Witcher 2 was available on 360 but not on PS3 then should I come up with a new term? "PS3 elusive", how does that sound? not very good imo.
how about the upcoming Shadows of the Damned being a "PC elusive"?
It's ultimately just a silly disagreement on names.
it's like saying germany won the war if you don't count the us and ussr.
uhm... no?
us and ussr were part of the allied forced while germany of the axis. there is only two sides, one wins the other loses. It's quite simple and completely different form this. Here, we have three systems (PC, 360, PS3) and we want to focus on comparing two of them (360, PS3) so we use a label, not "exclusive" but "console exclusive".
We are not ignoring a particular system either (in this case the PC), however, we would be ignoring it if we just used "exclusive" instead of "console exclusive", we are adding "console" at the begining particularly because we don't want to ignore PC.
Again, it just a silly argument about names. But in terms of meaning it makes complete sense too, console exclusive: game that is exclusive to a console.

I think you will find that the British Empire won the war! ;)
Who would want to play it on the Xbox anyways? :PStevo_the_gamerMe? :| I have a mac so I can't play on my computer and the game looks great.

Yup, the Mac was a college going-away gift. I'd like to get a gaming PC, but definitely don't have the money for it, at the moment.

they were on the winning side. that's about it. i'm making a point. this forum is about pc vs 360 vs wii vs ps3. there's no "exclusive if you ignore one or more systems" argument here.

I know dude, just messing about.
Good for you, but there's millions of other gamers that are affected by having The Witcher 2 on the 360.[QUOTE="Karnage108"][QUOTE="GameShtopper"]
I no longer own an Xbox 360, yet I have therequirements to play The Witcher 2.
GameShtopper
Witcher fans have already picked it up.
Or do you honestly think the 360 version will surpass the PC version in sales? If that's the case, then lol.
I was on the fence about The Witcher games as a whole, but I finally decided to finish the first game (4 years later) and bought the 2nd game almost immediately.I'd call myself a Witcher fan now.
Specifically cows. This great game will be coming to Xbox 360 this year but there is NO WORD it is coming to the PS3. I am very excited about this game and I wonder why some people "choose" to forget it in the upcoming line up! THOUGHTS???

Because it doesn't conform the the popular "Xbox has no games" narrative sweeping this forum.
How so cause of graphics? Everything else looked exactly the same. It's multiplat and 100x better on PC.

1. Because this is system wars
2. Idk what cd projekt's plans are, but I get the feeling that this is just a timed exclusive.

Poncho_Hachacha
shouldn't the fact that it was first released on the pc and then announced to be coming out for the 360 tell you that it's a timed exclusive? :?
It's because every PS3 comes packed with a new gaming PC.KalEl370
Don't mention Dust 514 to EVE Online fans ;)
its coming to the ps3[QUOTE="meatgrinderz"]
YEa but so far it's a console exclusive for the xbox360, right??

this isn't console wars. it's system wars.
CaseyWegner
So what?? It's still a + for the Xbox 360's library when compared to the ps3's library, which are the two most often compared systems here. Just because it's also on pc doesn't make that irrelevent.
you asked why. i told you why. this is not consolewars. you can't simply ignore the pc. you don't need an xbox 360 to play the game.
A particularly interesting argument given that it isn't the PC version of this great game that's in any danger of being ignored, now is it?
Just like the other 50+ PC-360 multi-plats, its the 360 version that almost always gets ignored, denying that system its clear strength as the most supported multi-platform system by far, with well over a hundred more multi-plats than the PC and Wii and nearly a hundred more than the PS3 on the GS spreadsheet.
It's a good summer game. Competing with Dark Souls and Skyrim it's aight but nah no contest. Id rather play it on PC cheaper with better graphics. I just beat it for $40 using a 360 controller too. Why would I get an inferior version months from now for $60?
Oh look, it's that same old " if it's also on PC then it don't count!!!" nonsense again.
This is system war so let's make a war analogy.
Let's pretend systems are countries, and games are the weapons they use in the war.
If World war 3 break out tomorrow, and China is fighting Japan. Chinese's PLA intelligence come up with the idea...
"Japan has some F15 fighters, but so dose USA so F15 is not exclusive therefore let's ignoreit and pretend they don't exist."
Dose this make sense at all??????
I really don't see a problem with the term "console exclusive". When I see this it tells me right off the bat that the game in question is available for PC and only available for one of the consoles. It's that simple.
I understand what you are saying Casey that this is system wars but to me PC gaming is just an entirely different culture altogether from the console culture of gaming. Whether or not someone has the potential to play a game on his or her rig is irrelevant if that same gamer does not want to game on a PC. So for this gamer the term "console exclusive" speaks volumes.
The problem I see with this PC/360 multiplat argument is that there seems to be the general false assumption that the PS3-only console owner will simply play the game on his or her PC. Even if that's true here in SW do you really think that this is reflective of what's happening in the general public outside of SW? I could be wrong but i'm willing to bet no.
Again to me the console gaming culture is quite different from the PC gaming culture and because of that it isn't crazy to think that a ps3-only console gamer just wants to stay in the console world and/or just feels that it simply isn't worth it for that one game to dive into the PC gaming world.
I just think that that the general public and/or the casual crowd want things quick and easy. PC is not the first thing that comes to my mind when the words "quick" and "easy" are mentioned in the gaming world. So for these people the console is a viable option and enough reason to avoid PC gaming and hence why the term "console exclusive" is perfectly acceptable and has meaning.

this forum was designed and intended for the pc to count just as much as any console and there is zero reason to treat it as a seperate entity. there are a lot of people out there who play video games and don't choose sides or limit themselves.
this forum was designed and intended for the pc to count just as much as any console and there is zero reason to treat it as a seperate entity.
CaseyWegner
1. All the systems are separate entities or this forum wouldn't exist in the first place.
2. PCs should count just as much when it comes to being welcome within the conversation, but it is inappropriate to say it must count just as much within the minds and hearts of the forum residents and that the denial can't be registered by dismissive language or deliberate omissions, which are directed at all systems on this board. All rival systems are discounted to one degree or another. You have posted this train of thought often in defense of the PC, but rarely if ever in defense of the Wii, which is very often left out of comparison threads.
3. How does acknowledging console exclusivity is a plus equate to ignoring the PC in the minds of anyone but an over-sensitive hermit? Ignoring the PC in this case would be saying "The Witcher 2 is a 360 exclusive" and no one said that. If someone posted a thread raving about how the 360 has the Witcher and the PS3 doesn't we would see at least a half a dozen posts reminding people that some PS3 owners can and do play on the PC.There is a balance of truths there, despite people trying to make this black & white. Most of those posts would take a tone of "doesn't count, on the PC" or simply say "on the PC" as if all PS3 owners were PC owners (rather than saying "some PS3 owners can play..."), which of course is misinformation and a denial of a genuine advantage of console exclusivity for the 360, but that kind of ignoring doesn't seem to bother you AT ALL. You seem to believe its all in the opposite direction, contrary to most of the evidence I have seen.
