Besides being the best RPG to be released in years, and the best this year? That'd be pretty heavy ammunition, but unfortunately it isn't exclusive so it doesn't count.
Or are lems finally realizing it doesn't count, so the game doesn't matter now? ;)
I really don't see a problem with the term "console exclusive". When I see this it tells me right off the bat that the game in question is available for PC and only available for one of the consoles. It's that simple.
I understand what you are saying Casey that this is system wars but to me PC gaming is just an entirely different culture altogether from the console culture of gaming. Whether or not someone has the potential to play a game on his or her rig is irrelevant if that same gamer does not want to game on a PC. So for this gamer the term "console exclusive" speaks volumes.
The problem I see with this PC/360 multiplat argument is that there seems to be the general false assumption that the PS3-only console owner will simply play the game on his or her PC. Even if that's true here in SW do you really think that this is reflective of what's happening in the general public outside of SW? I could be wrong but i'm willing to bet no.
Again to me the console gaming culture is quite different from the PC gaming culture and because of that it isn't crazy to think that a ps3-only console gamer just wants to stay in the console world and/or just feels that it simply isn't worth it for that one game to dive into the PC gaming world.
I just think that that the general public and/or the casual crowd want things quick and easy. PC is not the first thing that comes to my mind when the words "quick" and "easy" are mentioned in the gaming world. So for these people the console is a viable option and enough reason to avoid PC gaming and hence why the term "console exclusive" is perfectly acceptable and has meaning.

No. The term Console Exclusive refers to games like Final Fantasy 13, Red Dead Redemption, & Marvel vs Capcom 3. Why you ask? Well because those game are exclusivly on Consoles. They're not on Pc or the handhelds. Now saying a game like The Witcher 2 is console exclusive doesnt make any sense because its on the PC.
Also, im wondering, why do 360 fans always claim multiplats like left 4 dead, metro 2033, splinter cell conviction, gears of war, & the witcher 2 as exclusives but the PC camp doesn't? i never seen a pc owner claim those games as exclusives.

PC users know the word 'exclusive' cannot be used if a game is not exclusive.
Its like saying that a game that is only on the 360 is 'multiplat' it makes no sense.
But with a library as limited as the 360s people will try anything, including it seems changing the meaning of words in the english language in order to make it look better.

exactly, for 360 owners calling The witcher 2 & gears of war exclusives vs ps3 is like 360 owners calling red dead redemption & final fantasy 13 exclusives vs PC... it just doesn't work like that.

Yup, i dont hear PC users change definitions of words or make up terms like computer exclusive for games like Fable 3 in a PC vs PS3 discussion.

ME2 is still playable on the PC and 360 "this year".
Snugenz
Topic title: "Xbox 360's lineup this year". Is ME2 in 360's lineup for this year?
No but its still playable on the PC and 360 to people who still havnt played it this year, in other words it isnt a reason to go out and buy a PS3 if you already have a 360 or PC.
Yeah, I can also play MGS4 on PS3 this year if I haven't played it. But people in the topic are listing games that come out this year on each platform. Nobody is talking of MGS4, Halo 3 etc.

Xbox 360's library is limited, even though it has the largest library out of the 3 big consoles this gen, are you crazy yo?

People are discussing TW2 being an advantage for the 360 against the PS3, because TW2 isnt on the PS3 at all (and isnt planned to be yet). Gamers dont only play games from the current year, so when comparing systems, entire libraries count and ME2 is in no way an advantage for the PS3 against the 360 and PC no matter what.

it has the largest library this gen because it had a year head start in shovel ware
There's plenty of shovel-ware on the other consoles aswell.

The diference is that 360 share dozens of games with PC and some of them are amazing. Are you guys really trying to make it sound like a bad thing???
BECAUSE ITS WHAT COWS DO...focus in on forza 3 and gears 3 and ignore the 14 other exclusives 360 has coming between october 2011 and march 2012.
also its typical cow logic to ignore the fact that the main reason that PS3 is flooded with exclusives this year is because half of those games were delayed from 2010.
welcome to system wars.

Do you claim that loss of exclusives is not important? If MGS4 came on 360 in 2011 that wouldn't matter, is that what you say?

ME2 was ever exclusive?
But to answer your point, if MGS4 came out on the 360 in 2011 it would be no advantage over the already released PS3 version, altough it would be an advantage for both the PS3 and 360 vs. the PC or Wii library.

Best to be released in years? ME1/2 and DA1 says no. Best this year? that will obviously go to skyrim now (if that doesnt flop like DA2). TW2 turned out to be good, but not good as expected

[QUOTE="LandfillAO"]OK, this is my first post. I am a PS360 owner and I don't devote loyalty to a piece of plastic mass produced by multibillion dollar corporations. Here's my take: Do PS3 owners consider LBP, Mod Nation Racers etc exclusive? Yes. Ironically they are playable on a different platform. Fable, Fable 2, Fable 3, Halo, Halo 2, Gears Of War and Mass Effect. Who publishes them all? Microsoft. So why would Microsoft publish/first party develop games and put them on a different platform? Furthermore, why would XBL be playable on a PC and why would Microsoft develop first party exclusives for the PCif they had no stake in the platform? Like it or not, unless it's a Mac, it's Microsoft. Just like the PSP & Vita is Sony. So unless you start slashing them PS3 exclusives (especially when them PS3 launch titles show up on the Vita) with the double standards of a true, unbiased gamer; The Witcher 2 is a Microsoft exclusive this year. Though I do think it'll end up on PS3 next year (hopefully) Everyone bragging about the PS3's line up consider the cycle. Sony & Microsoft have had better years alternating for the last 4 years. Microsoft took 2010, Sony 2011. As it is 2011 consists of Infamous 2, LBP2 & Uncharted 3 Vs Gears 3, Forza 4 & The Witcher 2 for me. Even with quantity on Sony's side, it's dead even in games that I care about.F1ame_Shie1d
this is not company wars. it's system wars. the pc is not a microsoft platform. sony has published pc games. ms just makes an operating system.
Don't forget that both LBP and MNR are different games on PS3 then their Handheld counter parts while all the 360-PC multiplats he listed are direct ports and often superior on the PC.not sure what that has to do with anything.
Microsoft does make the operating system. The operating system required to run the games, unless it is available on Mac. Go to IGN's E3 predictions. IGN: "Microsoft needs to show off the other half of thier gaming empire: the PC" And I made my point about systems. We've established that - by your kind of logic - UC, KZ, LBP & MNR are not PS3 exclusive franchises because they have iterations on a different platform. Everything said about Windows PCs was relevant to the debate. LandfillAO
here's another quote..."the pc is not a microsoft platform. they just make the operating system. there's a lot more to the pc than that." -casey
okay, now that the quotes have cancelled eachother out we can focus on the rest. why wouldn't the uc, kz, lbp, and mnr franchise be exclusive to the ps3 when other games in the franchise are playable on something that's not the ps3. the games are certainly exclusive but the franchises aren't.
ms doesn't have any control over games made for windows. they don't make money off of pc game sales unless they publish the game. again, sony has published pc games.
