Why do people insist on putting Alan Wake and ME2 up there with GOW3 and U2?

Its not even about PS3 being "the more powerful machine", its just that factually the 360 has no games that compare to Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, or GOW3, and lemmings are just so desperate for the 360 to have a game in the running for best graphics just to compete with cows on here. It is factual that the 360 doesnt have many high profile upcoming exclusives, and lemmings are just clinging to every one, even going as far as to call Halo: Reach graphics king. im just saying, GOW3 is an automatic AAA title and judging by Uncharted 2s critical acclaim so far, im pretty sure we can agree it is too, but alan wake? come on lemmings, I love the 360, hell im a cow and im still gonna get a 360 for of Splinter Cell: Conviction, and enjoy many 360 exclusives, but i just hate seeing people cling to the game just for the sake of saying "We have one too!". Not turning this into a 360 vs PS3 games catalog debate, but just stop with the unnecesarry hype already, your just setting yourself up for dissapointment. There is part of your answer right there. In my opinion, there hasnt been a better game this gen, than Mass Effect. Seeing as how you dont know anything about it, I would suggest trying the game out. Then you will see why its so great.

While popular opinion doesn't only measure popularity, but rather the popularity of a certain opinion, it remains a logical fallacy to try to use popular opinion as a measure of objective truth or quality.

ME:2 will be better on the PC just like the first one. Alan Wake is a pseudo-Silent-Hill rip-off, imo.

I love Naughty Dog, But U2 is way over hyped. The only thing i hear about U2 is the graphics. I decided to go check out a vid of it finally (because i never hear about the gameplay).I saw a couple acctually. The graphics were nice.However the gameplay made mehave a, been there done that feeling. I feel like i have seen the same gameplay in other games, and it doesn't seem to speacial.The game looks epic. Here's a little lesson in why TC; ME2 is being made by Bioware. Bioware are freaking awesome. Mass Effect Scored the SAME as Uncharted here at GS. It has a higher Metacritic score and Gamerankings score than Uncharted (how's that for consensus?). Mass Effect 2 has had some seriously good trailers. Mass Effect 2 has taken a very interesting Direction. Mass Effect 2 looks amazing graphics wise. BoloTheGreat

For your information, Mass Effect scored 8.5. Uncharted scored 8.0.

Well, imo Mass Effect 2>Uncharted 2>Alan Wake. Uncharted 1 was a great experience, very cinematic and well done. The story and characters were fantastic. The gameplay was good too, it felt like Gears on a tropical island which was a very good thing :lol: . Also, having played the Uncharted 2 beta, I can say that it posesses a fluidity of gameplay that few games have... indeed, I would take Uncharted 2 over Alan Wake anyday... but over Mass Effect 2? Come on! :P !

Mass Effect 2 will be amazing...

I meant "try graphically competing with the 360".

IMO ME2 has the most realistic facial modelling and and detaling. Uncharted 2 looks fantastic as well, especially the environments and lighting. To me, Alan Wake is hit or miss. Some trailers I see make the game look leaps and bounds ahead of the competition, while others look almost last-gen (especially some of the characters) I think that both systems, the PS3 and the 360, will enjoy the many fantastic games that are coming up, and both will enjoy graphical masterpieces.

OP, what are you talking about? GOW3 and ME2 aren't even aiming to be graphics kings, they are aiming to be grameplay kings.

There's no need to unanimously decide which gaming franchise is better than another and there's no way to unanimously decide as people will always have varying opinions. The only time we can come to a unanimous agreement is with things that are objectively measurable.
