I just played Bad Company 2 for the first time today on PS3. I did not realize how awful COD games look. BC2 on PS3 looks better than MW2 on PC. Especially the campaign.

I acutally agree with Brandon. Those pictures on the first couple of pages does prove his point. Battlefield fanboys need to take their fanboy glasses off. :?Well, at least Im talking about Bad Company 2. BF3 does look amazing though. ;)

On console BC2 definitely looks better. COD isn't even 720p. It's 608p or 544p, or some other weird sub-HD resolution.
600p, and PS3 version of Black Ops is 540p.[QUOTE="ActionRemix"]

Those are the rounded resolutions used for shorthand. They actually use the resolutions I gave for whatever reason.

http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241Reasons COD does that is due to what they do with the engine sadly.
You really can't bash BC2 for having a lot of the same looking buildings, because they're all destructible and it's on a much larger scale.
And there's Valparaiso
Wow seriously battlefield fanboys need to take their fanboy glasses off. COD looks way batter than BC2. However... not BF3 for chrissakes. BC2 looks ugly in those pictures....sethman410Yes in those pictures. You need to stop telling others what to do and learn those pictures look nothing like what it looks like on my pc.
BC2 doesn't look that great. But no one said it does.
BF3 does look good. Much better than CoD. It's the perks of using a new engine, bro.
I say it does and it does. It looks stunning on my pc.[QUOTE="sethman410"]Wow seriously battlefield fanboys need to take their fanboy glasses off. COD looks way batter than BC2. Post the PC pictures maxed out against those COD pictures being maxed out. I only played it on my ps3. So, you're right Idk what Im talking about unless you prove it. Otherwise, Im sticking to my stance.
Sure, but BC2 looks worse in those picture comparisons lol.Well, they do...I love COD,but I'm not blind.BF3 looks better.
Lto_thaG
I was in the Alpha test for BF3 and I can safely say that it looks better than any Call of Duty I've ever seen.
haha you silly kids and your drugs!! lol but seriously what are smoking to make COD look better? I think the BFBC2 didnt have the greatest graphics but still better then COD...and BF3 is on a whole new level
Yeah they are insanely similar in their game design and not much has changed in that regard. I don't think it's shallow or bad though. I love Halo as well, Halo 3 being my favourite.[QUOTE="brandontwb"][QUOTE="KSU-Wildcat"]
Am I the only one who thought that Call of Duty FOUR was incredibly shallow and just as bad as the rest of the Call of Dutys? Everyone on here seems to hate Call of Duty now that it's the big thing. It got popular, and now everyone hates it. I don't see how you could have loved CoD4 and hate the new ones, seeing how they are essentially the same thing. Granted, that could be a reason to get frustrated (the lack of progress), but Halo is largely the same gameplay wise and I still love it.
Yay for hypocrisy.
KSU-Wildcat
Bad was a bit harsh on my part, seeing how everyone likes different things. It's just never been for me, you know? I don't like how people loved CoD4 and now everyone hates the new Call of Dutys. The only thing I can understad, again, is them being potentially frustrated with the lack of percieved progress in the series, but I own them all (I can't bring myself not to, by brother is always deployed and he loves playing it, so I play it with him on occassion) and they all play essentially the same.
Between COD 4 and MW2 they added a lot of BS like death perks and infinite noob tube class and no recoil guns and ridiculous killstreaks (nuke). I think that is why people were frustrated with MW2 compared to COD 4, which was much better balanced
BC2 looks better to me granted there not as amazing as some people make them out to be some people called it a crysis killer  BF3 looks to be much more impressive graphically and a true crysis killer.
Settings are maxed out for the mw2 which pics are all from the sp campaign and a mix of medium high settings for bc2 with pics from both sp and mp. the diffrence between the 2 games is very clear cod looks alright but compared to bc2 at the higher settings its no contest let along bf3 which completly destroys it in every way possible.
And with these pics the thread should already end, and here's some of mine for good measure.BC2 looks better to me granted there not as amazing as some people make them out to be some people called it a crysis killer  BF3 looks to be much more impressive graphically and a true crysis killer.

BF3 and BC2 are running on different versions of a game engine. Call of Duty is running a completely different engine.
BC2 is the alpha version of Frostbite 2.
Your computer sucks (if your playing on PC).
Pick your answer.
Bad Company 2 is on Frostbite 1.5, there is a huge difference between 1.5 and 2.0BF3 and BC2 are running on different versions of a game engine. Call of Duty is running a completely different engine.

Really? The PC version doesn't look stunning at all. Environments, sure, but character models are a definite no-no.
I disagree.. Black Ops is much more detailed and colourful whilst BC2 is drenched in post processing effects and flashy animations. I think CoD on consoles doesn't really have a sharp picture it's around 600 pixels vertically lines of resolution I believe. On the PC BC2 looks much better than CoD. However on the consoles it's a different story. While I think BC2 looks better, it running at 30fps with some really crappy AA compared to CoD's 60fps and sharp picture, it's easy to say that CoD looks better.

I dont think they are. I know Bad Company 2's isnt. its got its moments, but overall, Blops is a far better looking game. I will say that COD graphics arent really improved over COD4 which shows how far ahead COD4's graphics were. I have yet to play BF3, but my friend was not that impressed by the alpha graphics. -ArchAngeL-777-How is an engine based off idtech3 ahead in 2007 :? "My friend was not that impressed by ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA graphics." I mean really? What a shocker

How so? Seriously. They are incredibly detailed and refined. In terms of visuals, there is just so much more information for your eyes to feed on.No I can't blame them, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it DOES make the game look worse. You really can't bash BC2 for having a lot of the same looking buildings, because they're all destructible and it's on a much larger scale.

Ok now you're just trolling. The one thing CoD does better than any other series is map design, which is why we don't have a bunch of copy pasted buildings in it like in BFBC2. Well, either that or you're so delusional that you're probably a danger to both yourself and people around you. I hate the maps in CoD as well. So he is not trolling, just stating his opinions, which I have to agree with. BC2 had some horrible maps as well, however BF2 has some of the best.Ok now you're just trolling. Sorry if I don't consider claustrophobic map design "good." Just because one room has a few more chairs than the other room with a few more posters and a desk, doesn't mean it's unique or good design.
Poor job on the insults though. Terribly chosen words and phrases.

BC2 had some horrible maps as well, however BF2 has some of the best. millerlight89It's partly opinion, but also party about fact. There is a reason why hardcore multiplayer gamers and tournament players exclusively play a select few games, or FPS in this case. I'm optimistic about BF3 and I did play the alpha, luckily they seem to be taking a page out of CoD's book with hardcore player friendly level design, although we'll see more of how good the level design is in the beta build. I'll be doing youtube commentaries of BF3 beta gameplays and I really hope it can be a competitive/tournament friendly game, and the fact that vehicles are better balanced now just might make the game more than just eye candy. I like being able to create foxholes/trenches with C4 mainly because for me, the last two BF games(BC1 and BC2) have been all about having fun with explosives or stomping people with OP builds and tactics. Not to mention, it's nice that it took FPS games 10 years to make a scripted version of RF1's terrain deformation, and in ARMA II we had to use mods just to get this...
As a PC gamer, I want BF3 to do well, but I want games like ARMA III, and RO2 to do well even more, since those are games that actually need support.
