Because it's Nintendo and people have nostalgia blinding them. Pokemon started out great but the lack of evolution is sad. They still sell so Nintendo only make minimal improvements like a high bashed series I.E. Call Of Duty.FlamesOfGrey
Pokemon in general is a conservative franchise even if B/W improved/changed it alot, but it hasn't declined in quality, while MW3 on PC is unplayable due to cheaters, the maps are mediocre, weapons are unbalanced and the SP is shorter than ever.
Pokemon is also a unique type of RPG, while there are tons of CoD clones/FPS games out there.

Pokemon is stale campaign wise and the only depth you'll get is if you're a competitive battler doing EV stat training, breeding etc... I've been playing the game since Red & Blue and it's the same thing over and over. Black & White shows Nintendo is trying to put in more effort into their story telling but it's still too childish to have a real impact. Gameplay wise the game is an endless cycle. You already know how it's going to end.You realize there is online play so you can trade with people whenver you want and get every pokemon easily?
God, Nintendo haters are so ignorant. First the Kid Icarus genre argument the other day and now this...

Doesn't mean the sequels are "bad". The latest CoD game is just that, bad.
I thought B/W was refreshing and one of the best games of the previous year.

You DONT NEED to buy both games. Nintendo made all the Pokemon available through trade which is part of the game. I didn't realize this was a hard concept to grasp. Oh well, shows how desperate some people are to take jabs at Nintendo.RyanShazamIts not the same. It couldve easily have been in the game. Why else do you think they make, Platinum, Emerald, yellow.

Pokemon has had it's fair share on hacked online battles and Pokemon themselves over the years (the latter still being done in high numbers today.) just like COD has problems with it. COD is just as stale and people enjoy it as much as Pokemon even though they're going through the same thing. Nintendo needs to do something (I don't care about FPS games in general so COD can die for all I care.) but what I don't know. Pokemon fans like the simplicity and charm of the game and Nintendo isn't going to change a selling formula. I still play every main Pokemon game that comes out and have a decent time with them when I want a simplistic RPG but I already know what to expect and that's exactly what I get.Because it's Nintendo and people have nostalgia blinding them.FlamesOfGreyOkay, if it's nostalgia as to why Nintendo franchises are still praised by critics and fans, then explain to me why these games from nostalgic series below are either heavily criticized by reviews, lambasted by fans, or perhaps both?
Hell, explain to me why even Nintendo fans disregard these games despite their nostalgia for past installments in their respective series?

Yeah, if Mass Effect or COD put out two versions with separate exclusive content, there would be an international moral outcry. Nintendo got a pass for doing it first.
I don't really care though.

[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]there's a difference, the two versions can link up with eachother and you can get the content from the other version into your game Theres no need for two. It should be in one. I'm sure they have two different versions to help increase sales, but the different versions helps with the multiplayer aspects as well, which I am perfectly fine with. I only buy one version of the games and get the Pokemon I don't have from friends or online sources. It adds to the thrill of Pokemon and it also adds a unique gameplay aspect to the game. I would be happy if they actually made more Pokemon exclusive to each game rather than just a handful. I find this to be the petiest thing to complain about.

I think it's been demonstrated that the internet will cry out whether it's needed or not.
No one cares because a rip off implies that you aren't getting your money's worth, when in fact you easily are with each game.
If I was getting my moneys worth Id be able to get the pokemon in the japanese only events and i wouldnt have to buy a complete editionNo one cares because a rip off implies that you aren't getting your money's worth, when in fact you easily are with each game.

Gamefreak is owned by Nintendo and Nintendo own the Pokemon IP. FlamesOfGreyGamefreak is a second-party developer. Nintendo actually owns a third of the Pokemon IP.

All franchises aren't created equal with Nostalgia some people will overlook staleness or reptitiion while others won't. Pokemon isn't terrible like Sonic 06 but it is stale formula. I know I pretty much play Pokemon out of Nostalgia. The main pokemon experience from game to game is more then similiar it's the same exact thing with slight tweaks (a battle tower here, some new pokegear there).FlamesOfGreyWAIT A MINUTE HERE!You call out Nintendo fans for playing and enjoying their favorite franchises out and you admit you still play one of those said franchises out of nostalgia?
Also, why do you still even BOTHER with Nintendo's stuff if you think they've gotten stale?
Besides, even if each long running franchise isn't made with the same amount of nostalgia, it's still a bad argument.
I haven't cared about Pokemon since the originals, I never liked any of the new ones. Tried to get into Pokemon Crystal or whatever it was and just couldn't take them seriously.
thats the point of pokemon, thats the way the game was built, you and your friend (or you find friends) have different versions which have different pokemons and you trade.
The objective of any industry is to make money. Way to go, Pokemon. NAPK1NSPokemon isn't even expanding, what money are they making> 4803 game son one system has shown they made less money for every single one than before (Except HG and SS which took almost know budget to make with straight recycling.) I have to give it to Pokemon though, they recycle so much that Captain Planet doesn't have any rings in the pokemon universe.
Cause it's Nintendo, whatever you do don't say anything bad about Nintendo or the Fans will attack you for having a opinion. Alittle double standard going on, yes the two versions are to promote sales, but I agree it feels alittle silly that they are able to withhold content and slap it on another almost exact version.Blake135That can be said about ANY fanbase :P
