Why doesn't Sony get credit for anything in SW?

I mean everything Sony does with PS3 it's always discredited and slander with bias talk.

Blu-ray: "It's a format that force on consumers. Sony is ripping us off"

Multi-media funtions: "I just want a gaming machine. If I wanted all the other stuff I'll buy them (optional)"

PS Network: "It's not as good as XBL. Why should I pay $600 for a lower version online service?"

RPGs: "Now that games like Blue Dragon and Lost Odessey coming to the 360, PS no longer have the great RPGs."

PS Home: "It's a Second life rip-off. No one cares about playing Barbie and Doll house on a console"

PS Games: "They only release rehashed games that are played out and should be retired from the Sony library."

Sony: "All they do is copy ideas from other companies. They're not innovative at all. Then, have the nerve to charge High Price for it."

It's seems no matter what Sony does, it's not good enough. I say, Sony has no choice but to become arrogant to the haters, and just worry about the people who purchase their products.

However, as much as I dislike Microsoft as a console gaming company, we give credit to them without bashing out everything.

Microsoft: Has the best shooters on a console.

Microsoft: XBL is the best online service you can get on a console at the moment.

Microsoft: Has great customer service when it comes to their faulty hardware issue. Lifetime warranty is very nice.

Just something to think about, when the next time you bash systems fanboys...

You brings up some decent points TC. I too think that Sony is under alot of scrutiny, however I think alot of it is a result of their arrogance towards the media, its competitors, and the consumer. Kestastrophe

The problem there is denial. You(as a general term) is denying the good idea Sony brought to the table just because they're arrogant of the way the present it. Wanting a good image is for the people who have image problems themselves. Their not here to impress you with a coke and a smile. They're here to give you the best for gaming.

The problem is that no one really knows if the PS3 was a good idea or not, at this point in time. It is having moderate success right now, but there really hasen't been any software out for the system that can justify the steep price. If Sony were less arrogant, the meida might have given them a break with the PS3.  

I want games. Sony isn't delivering me games. That's why they get no credit with PS3 imo. They are doing everything but releasing good games. They have nothing that is appealing to the Japanese demographic that is why they are getting outsold so badly there.

I grew tired of PS3. I had it from February until May and didn't buy one game for it. So I sold it to my brother. But you can be damn sure I will still be buying games like MGS4 and FFXIII and playing it on my brothers system.

Well you do have to agree that blue ray was and still is forced upon anyone who buys the PS3....they should have at least waited for it to be a success then offered it as an add on for those who wanted it, otherwise if blue ray fails then your 600$ goes down the drain with it because it probably would lack massive support. Choices are the way to go.

That is exactly the reason why I have not purchase one yet. The day Ratchet and Clank comes out is the day I get a PS3.

- well you are right on that, people do get upset over something they were never going to buy in the first place, but it has turned potential customers and some Sony fans to look elsewhere, and whats more is they found better most of the time.

- Both sides can be right, some features are better and more useful than others, I happen to like the "buy it later" aproach by MS

- Actually thats subject to opinion, but if its one type of statement I dislike, its the "why should i buy [some playstation related product] for $600/£425?" when the only thing worth that much is the ps3.

- The 360s RPGs are targeted at japanese gamers mainly, so technically (aside from Oblivion) none are system sellers.

- that is true, you see, even when they have more development time they play worse and look worse most of the time.

- One idea i havent seen anywhere else is analogue buttons (minus the triggers), it doesnt get mensioned enough but sonys controllers have presure sensative d-pads and command buttons, which is one of the reasons saints row was stupid, because you are either racing down the street or parked. A ballance between the two results in your car chugging down the road. So yeah they have done something by themselves.

My overall opinion, the PS3 overpowers some aspects and neglects others. Meaning that as a general whole, its games arent shining, But its features are good.

Well you do have to agree that blue ray was and still is forced upon anyone who buys the PS3....they should have at least waited for it to be a success then offered it as an add on for those who wanted it, otherwise if blue ray fails then your 600$ goes down the drain with it because it probably would lack massive support. Come back to me in 5-6 years when DVD is obsolete, HD-DVD is out of the market and Blu-ray is the only format. Then we can discuss how bad of a move it was for sony to implement blu ray

Its an abusive and testing move, sounds like a dirty business tactic, but its not like ms can even think about critising other companies locking down the monopoly.

That's crazy! Any smart man knows that you have to give credit to an enemy or foe for what he's good at. I'm not going to settle for "It's system wars". Just give credit where it's due. That's all I'm asking. Even if you disagree with the idea at least respect that it's a strong suit for that company.

As much as i dislike Sony, I'm willing to give them credit on the Eye Toy....i thought it was a dope idea.  And I really like the design structure of the PSP.  That's about where it stops for me.

Well let's start it here. I hate $600, but I love FF and NGS.  I'm not too fond of Blu-ray, but I love the idea of free online services.  I don't like being told that I'm cheap for not dropping said $600 on a PS3, but I'm not so dense as to let that stop me from picking one up when it's, say, $400.

Amen. Alot of people don't like the PSP, but I love mine. I got it for Valentine's day and I think the PSP platform will have a long life cycle. It just needs some more good games to come out (I'm looking at you GOW and Crisis Core).

IMO. I think Sony push gaming into HD better. Also, Homebrew will be even be bigger on PS3 due to Linux OS can be run on it. Sony vision for Home is so big, I think it's a gateway for outside gaming companies to enter the console market i.e. Nike, Chap, and Madden furniture to have a HOME set up on PS3. The real question is what is the stratergy for MS in the next 5 years. Just trying to get out of debt?

1. the 360 is the only console to upgrade last gen games in HD... and the first with HD standard.. but you want to give SONY credit?  no bias there..:roll:

2. Sony's vision does not pan out to reality usually...ie; AOL/SONY xbox live killer...

3. MS vision is to continue to innovate the online community while sony tries to keep up...  yet you want to give sony credit and not MS..when MS has made the most comprehensive online service ever...  wow...:roll:

The reason they're not getting credit for the things you mention because Sony has yet to really prove itself this generation. I think a lot of the statements against what Sony has is fanboy drivel, but it's fanboy drivel emboldened by Sony's lack of success thus far with the PS3.
Plus, things like Bluray and Home have yet to prove their worth, and PSN isn't as good as XBL.

Give it time, Shungo. Give Bluray time to prove itself, give Home time to come out and mature, give PSN time to mature, give time for the great games to come out.
I know it's kinda cliche with the PS3, but all that can really be done is wait for things to pan out.

Its been out for a half a year not a couple monthes. You fail to realize that people aren't patient. Otherwise the Wii wouldn't be selling the way it is. People want instant gratification from their purchase and the PS3 does not give that. You say 360 was in the same situation last year I say what were...

The PS3 can't even get quality above the 360's launch games let alone was has come out after it.

Games like GRAW, Oblivion, Saints Row, Lost Planet, Dead Rising. You act as if 360 had nothing up until Gear of War when it has plenty of AA games out that aren't on the Wii or the PS3.

It does support 1080i...I bought the cables for 20 bucks. Why does that even matters? It would just be 20 dollars more added to the $600 price tag you guys keep complaining about.

About the RPGs, for JRPGs anyway, Sony has more announced than the Xbox 360 right now. The 360 has Lost Oddysey, Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms, Cry on, Infinite Discovery, Eternal Sonata, and Last Remnant, while PS3 has FFXIII, FF Versus XIII, White Knight Story, Enchanted Arms, Disgaea PS3, Last Remnant, Shin Megami Tensei, and Monster Kingdom. FFXIII, VErsus and White Knight Story appeal to me more than any Xbox 360 game, and the previous Disgaea, and Shin Megami Tensei were great. Though the 360's RPGs look great, I prefer the PS3's.  

hoever says about PS games must not like the Wii's VC either because they are both for playing old games.
