Because my PC doesn't run this gen games and I can play them in my 360 just fine.

I'm close to get a new PC though.

[QUOTE="DARKNESSxEAGLE"]PC gamers think all those game you listed above are garbage filler and they just cant understand why you would not rather play Civ 5 or WOW instead. I'm a PC gamer and I enjoyed all those game series, funny...Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, BlazBlue, Dark Souls, Uncharted , God of War, Gears of War, Disgaea, Little Big Planet, Dead or Alive and Metroid. But the real reason is that after buying the other 3 consoles there is pretty much no point in getting the PC, MMOs bore me and I don't care enough for the RTS genre that I'm willing to fish out £800 for a PC capable of playing modern ones. If I ever feel a desperate urge to play loads of FPS games then I'll get one of the multi platform titles. I don't feel the need for a PC to game on, I game on mine when I feel up to playing Touhou, so perhaps once a week or something like that.

The problem is that people use "preferences" AKA opinions to argue that PC isn't better, it is better, and you can't win a debate with opinions. OPINION DEBATE Guy 1: "A Ferrari is better for racing than a Ford Pinto." Guy 2: "But I like the Pinto better." Guy 1: "So? That doesn't prove anything. Doesn't change the fact that the Ferrari is better" Replace "pinto" with consoles, and "Ferrari" with PC, and "Racing" with gaming, and that's console gamer's argument. It is childish to use opinions to PROVE something. And know, PC's are still not more expensive like a Ferrari is. So it should be okay to have hateful stereotypes? "I just play games, and forget about whats best and whats worst and all that crap" so basicly, you are complacent, have no standards, and are contributing to the decline of quality games. But you are right, who cares? " I'd like to say for the 10 billionth time on this board is that games exist on console that don't on PC" Why do you think those games are on consoles? Because they are only technically possible on consoles? NOPE! Because they are higher quality on consoles? NOPE! Microsoft and Sony bribe companies for excusives? YES! Simply because the console market is larger? YES! And why are the console markets more popular? BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW GOOD PC IS, AND HAVE MISCONCEPTIONS!!!? YES!!!!! PC is better as stated, all games on console can be done better on PC (even fighters and the like because controllers are use able on PC), the only thing consoles do is hold back developers from improving, innovating, and taking risks to move forward due to out-dated, stagnant hardware, and money-hungry, all-powerful (control the consoles completely, since it solely their closed platform) companies like Sony/Microsoft wanting to make repetitive, low-risk sequels like Call of Duty instead of pushing, improving, taking risks, and innovating for quality (instead of shameless cash-cows) due to an open platform without an all-controlling corporation that also has unlimited hardware potential. So basicly whether it insults you or not, it is true that PC is superior and gaming would be better off if there were no consoles, this shouldn't insult you, bevause you CAN just buy a gaming PC, no one is stopping you, if you know these facts and still keep a console, THEN you are a fool.[QUOTE="Stalkerfieldsis"][QUOTE="NirdBerd"]Ok...why are you directing this post at me as if I've been saying all of this? PC gamers have a hard time accepting other peoples personal preferences, and that is really sad.Seriously? You only came up with one good game from that list of three split screen games (that require mods, devs didn't bother to put it in? that is MY point), along with Kane and Lynch, a mediocre game, and Left 4 Dead, an unsatisfying zombie shooter in which an 'AI Director' makes up for the lack of content...I play games on PC ASWELL since I was 13 and I have not adapted this mindset in which console gamers must be banished from gaming and go with PC because it is the ultimate platform and whatnot Maybe because I just play games, and forget about whats best and whats worst and all that crap, I just play a game, and have fun. I'm not surprised with the misconception of PC gamers/stereotypes created by console gamers. I'm really not. Another thing I'd like to say for the 10 billionth time on this board is that games exist on console that don't on PC NirdBerd
I am a stubborn fool who games on consoles (and PC, omg hurr durr), and I am contributing to the decline of quality games. Assuming that games are bad quality. Assuming that companies bribing developers into releasing games on console has anything to do with me and my choice to play a particular game that exists on a console and not on PC. If these games were on PC, maybe I would be a PC-only gamer. If the Tales, Metroid, Metal Gear, etc series were on PC I would be a PC-only gamer.
I love how you bring up Call of Duty of all games to represent 'companies like Sony/Microsoft wanting to make reptitive, low-risk sequels instead of taking risks'
Nintendo takes the big risks, and they are crapped on by the gaming community. Nintendo are about improving ways to play games, but they are crapped on for using very dated hardware.
A lot of PC games these days are consolized ports, what do you expect me to do? Sit at my PC, playing the bad version and cry about consoles getting all the attention ? Do you think it has ANYTHING to do with ME when it comes to BUSINESS between companies and what platform a game is on? A game I want to play is on a particular platform, therefore I buy get that platform and the game for it. I'm not going to steer away from it just because your attitude deems me ignorant or foolish just because I purchase inferior hardware.
Yes, all games on console can be done better on PC, but they aren't always. Like I said, what do you expect me to do? Sit at my PC and whine about the console market?
GOD FORBID A GAME BEING RELEASED ON A CONSOLE THAT.. I WANT TO PLAY! Don't do it NirdBerd!! You are contributing to the decline of quality games and you are a foolish man!!!
a Ferrari is better for racing than a Ford Pinto? What kind of example is that towards 'PC is better for gaming than a console'?
You are implying that the console market and developers who develop for console are simply cash cows. Right.. ok lolololol. You can say that about ANY company in existence.
I play games on PC, but I don't want to upgrade because I am satisfied playing a game where I am restricted to mod or upscale it- on my console. I play games on my PC but they are older games. I am happy with those games? So what am I? Ignorant? Foolish? I don't want to upgrade my pc because in the long run it WILL cost more money, I will be using more power
Let's go, AGAIN!!! 1. Huh? Yeah, that's the problem, the only reason you have to play those games on a console is because of bribing exclusivity deals, not because those consoles are the best platform to play them on, anti-quality money-grubbing. 2.Uncharted, Gears of War, Halo, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, all these franchises and many more did in their sequels was just play it very safe, adding mostly minimal improvements. Not like, say, Half Life 1 to Half Life 2. The developing mindset there is lazy, and not concerned with quality, JUST money, obviously you have to make money, but that doesn't mean you can be cheap and cut corners and bring crap products to your customers. 3. HAHAHA! Nintendo? Risk taker? I'll admit the wiimote is an innovation, but it was too lazy to be fully realized, the majority of their big games are re-hashes of DECADES old franchises like Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, all trying to recapture the glory days of the older games (not unlike MW2, Blops, and MW3 trying to rehash CoD4's glory). 4. Lol at PC console ports being the "bad version". Lol, games like Batman Arkham City are ports and they are the best versions, any exception is because the lazy developer treated the PC version as an afterthought. 5.Yeah, maybe there are games you want to play on console, but like I said there is no reason for that game to be restricted on console, it could be done EVEN better. 6. How is the Ferrari/Pinto METAPHOR invalid? It's not an "example" genius, it's a metaphor for that logic. 7. All companies are cash-cows? A company has to be concerned with profit, I understand that, but that doesn't mean they can put in no effort, cut corners, and try to shameless milk you and rip you off, or unfairly bribe things to their favor. 8.You should upgrade your PC BECAUSE IT IS CHEAPER!! I's an all in one device cheaper than a separate computer and console, you spend much less on actual games, and in 4-5 years when another console is coming out anyway, you can buy a $200-400 or so upgrade instead of a $400-600 next gen console. I can tell, you are one of those people who think you have to upgrade every 2 years or EVEN 1 YEAR to keep playing good games. And no, having one device will save you on power, especially because PC parts are becoming rapidly more efficient with power than the 5-6 year old parts in consoles. 7.My couch is way more comforable then my computer chair. Plus I hate using the keybaord for games I just like using a simple controller.
I game on both my PC and xbox 360/wii. I used to play on my PC a lot, especially games like MW2 and MMOs. But now I've realised that there are just so many quality games on consoles which are not on the PC. I would have missed out on Dark Souls, Bayonetta and FF13 if I only played on PC. The consoles have a lot of games the PC doesnt have and many of these are actually very good. I still play on my PC but not as often, and I only play BF3 and TW: Shogun 2 on it.
Pc gaming is too expensive, if I want a PC I might as well go for the top of the end graphics instead of just getting slightly better than consoles. That makes no sense with the Wii U coming out to be honest.AppleJudgementSlightly better? My $700 GTX 470 rig runs BF3 on MAX and Crysis 2 with graphics mods. A normal console gamer paid $400 for a console and 4-$500 for a separate non-gaming computer, and spend at least $10 more per game. Your point is?
No money for a gaming PC.........too expensive.I mean....you need 1000euro for a good gaming PC.AtariKidXHorrible lies, it's about 7-800 USD.
Seeing as controllers and couch setups are impossible on PC...oh wait!! They are not, and are easy to setup too!! Once again, someones reason to not PC Game is a misconception and/or ignorance. My couch is way more comforable then my computer chair. Plus I hate using the keybaord for games I just like using a simple controller.

Well there is always the option to build your own or just upgrade instead of buying a new machine altogether.
The price tag associated with gaming PC's is troubling, as it is not very expensive at all to create a rig that can run most games maxed with good performance.

Console gamers are not ignorant. There are games offered on the consoles not available on the PC. Its simple as that.

PC's come in a variety of hardware configurations, %99 of which, as sold in stores, are not capable of gaming in any capacity.
More like consoles are the Ferraris (or Pintos if you prefer.)
Gaming PC's are hotrods you build in the garage, and have to keep dumping money into.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Consoles = 1 hobby : Gaming
PC Gaming = 2 hobbies : PC tech + Gaming
If you are not interested in PC tech at all, don't have the inclination to pull one apart and put it back together, install the OS, tweak it, and understand every aspect of it, then you will not have a good experience as a "PC gamer."
You cannot simply "buy one" without knowing what you are doing.

Nope that be a terrible idea which would hurt the potential sales of their game by dividing PC gamerd just for using another brand of hardware.

You still need Steam running and need to be logged in to play the game. It's a minor thing, especially in our day of cheap perpetual internet.
Anyone who complains about having to be logged into Steam in order to start up a game better not play a good amount of multiplayer games on Xbox or PS3. Otherwise, you're just a complete hypocrite.

Yep
Sadly PC games on disk these days won't work without an internet connection.
Everybody seems to think that's hunky dory and praise Steam for having the nicest DRM in the business.
But at the end of the day it's still a legal computer virus.
Some console games won't run without an online update either.
Instead of collectively banding together to throw molotov cocktails and hang devs from streetlights, the whole "gaming scene" thinks everything is great, as long as Crysis 2 is in hi-rez, nobody cares about the overnight rape of their consumer and civil rights, just like people at the airport happily submitting to a full body cavity search as long as they can make it to Aunt Doris' house for pumpkin pie.
Crooks, thieves and hustlers get the best of everything, and the honest working man's a sucker.

Yep, a lot of console games need an update first time you play them on a console too. Steam is not the only thing that does this. A guy at work wasn't able to play MW3 or BF3 on his 360 console for the first time without connecting to the internet and doing an update for both games.[QUOTE="VanDammFan"]
I know you can run games offline when using steam "or so Im pretty sure"....but..tried to install skyrim on my sons pc just to see if it would work"I know it wont but he wants it to:)"...and it said I have to dl steam before going any further..I DONT LIKE THIS...so its telling me that in order to play a game on my pc,I have to have internet and dl a program? This is something that will not go well with most people.

this i totally agree with..SO..you have to have internet to play a game OR at least get it working on pc?? sounds a lot like MS LIVE to me OR worse..at least most games dont require internet on consoles..Im wondering "and this is whats great about PC gaming OR console gaming"..I like to share. In this house we have nearly 20 consoles and 4 pcs..we share lots of games..So im wondering if I can even get Skyrim to work on another pc in this house..CAN I?? WIll it work if its already on MY pc??without using anything illegal to make it work??
I'm trying. I made the mistake of recently purchasing a AMD 5640 HD 1gb video card, which I found out later on , after the fact, that those cards aren't really built for gaming. I was looking for a good card that I don't have to replace the power supply with, which will run games at a decent, to medium settings. Well these 5450 cards have trouble running almost anything. I can run The Killing Floor, but games like the Witcher 2 run horribly. So I plan on getting the 6450 and replacing the power supply, then maybe I can finally game on a pc.

At this point in gaming history we're not really arguing about which platform is the best.
We're arguing about which one sucks the least, and which company will use the most vaseline when they bend us over.
What PC gamers don't understand yet is their main enemy is the same company that made their OS.
Just like Playstation gamers don't understand that online won't be "free" forever.
And I think 360 and Ninty gamers just enjoy getting screwed, they think it's romantic.

Power supply is the first thing you need to buy for PC gaming. Remember that.
Don't try to skimp on the PSU and think you'll use some "HTPC" card because they're garbage and won't run hardly anything acceptably.

Read the thread, I'm not going to repeat myself for every 40 year old virgin that walks thru the door.

Ok. Thanks. I plan on buying one or two this weekend. I have a Compaq Presario, which I upgraded to 4gb ram, and it does have a dual core AMD processor, so I'm hoping it can run the games at medium settings when I install a good video card. Not the best cpu, but It's run good for me so far, and not to mention my twin sons enjoy gaming on PCs more than on the 360, or PS3.I'm trying to upgrade both the Compaq and HP Slimline s3200n. Not killer machines by far but I'm hoping they will work. Is it tough to install those power supplies? Do I have to mess with the Bios settings?[QUOTE="vtoshkatur"]

While I agree how today all platforms including PC have a good share of problems,rip-offs and crap,as a PC gamer,I don't understand what you mean by MS destroying PC gaming.Could you clarify what are you thinking exactly?

I don't know what he means by this either. If they didn't want you to game on Window's based systems why are they adding Xbox 360 compatibliity with Window's 8?
