Why downgrade MGS4 for 360?

First: The 360GPU > PS3GPU myth is just that: A myth. I fpeople want to argue that the 360 has a more versatile structure that allows for more efficient RAM access between the CPU and GPU, that's fine since it's true. But just because it's difficult to get the RSX and Cell to work in tandem that doesn't mean the developers are incapable of pulling it off. Hideo Kojima, for example, explained this.

Second: It doesn't really matter that Oblivion got a year's worth of extra development time since it was such a simplistic game to begin with. The real thing that kept 360 developers from making it closer to the quality of the PS3 was disc space; 9 gigs just wasn't enough to do all they wanted. PS3 was going to upscale the game's graphics anyway, but space was the real problem.

Are you forgetting about the ps3 CPU? Sure, 360 has a slightly better GPU but there litterally around the same ground, but when you compare there CPU, PS3 demolishes the 360. ANd also, the games are comming, you know why cows are saying this, its because there system just came out. its been 6 months only. Lets compare the games 360 has when it was at 6 months? No Gears, No Forza.

 

One, the PS3's CPU is much more complicated to utilize. Two, despite CPU assistance, it's the GPU that has to do the final drawing onto the screen.

 

 

kojima has done it ,explained about it and eventually other devs will. True aboutg the gpu, but the ps3's cpu sure has heck makes up for the slight power in gpu 360 has over ps3.

the only reason i see the 360 MGS4 (we are assuming here it's coming :) ) watered down is if compressing data really gonna hurt it... which is really never that noticable

yes, Kojima did say that he might even need the 50 Gig Blu-ray. that's only cause they plan not to compress the movies and sound, which will need a great deal of space.

otherwise, it's not about processing power or what not...

MGS4 for 360 would be a huge UPGRADE! Achievements!!!! Better online support that won't disappear after a few months. Better textures and lighting (AS CONFIRMED BY UBI DEVS). Throw in the 360 controller with its superior ergonomics and suddenly MGS4 goes from a colorless blob on a dead end system to a high powered attack beast on the gamer's system of choice!

I mean...we all saw how 360 handled Oblivion...

Then we saw how PS3 handled it...

Point is...games like Resistance would NOT work on 360..they use faaar too many particle effects and rely heavily on the Cell architecture...

So why then take a game MADE for PS3 hardware from the gropund up...optimizng that hardware...and downgrade it to 360? You would literally have to remake the game for tricore...It would almost certainly lose a majority of particle effects and would also lose 7.1 surround sound...not to mention motion sensing...

The 360 hardware while strong just doesnt have the draw distance capabilities, particle effects or physics of PS3....plus with the PS3's abilities to generate faaar more polygons...we can have literally more characters and onscreen at once along with better clarity...360 fans know this cuz Oblivion looks muddy 50 feet infront of them and Gears sometimes takes 6 seconds to load textures....

Uh huh... so why os ot again that all of the PS3 exclusve games that were being BUILT with the PS3 in mind are all now being ported to the 360? Virtua Fighter 5, Ace Combat 6, Devil May Cry 4... shall I go on?
