My thoughts exactly LOL
100% agree with this, i would rather have a lower resolution with a higher framerate, i hate controller latency.Easy! It's because the lower the frame-rate the more detail you lose while moving. So at the end, higher resolution means nothing unless you're going to play something like Tetris or maybe GOW which has a fixed camera (only during gameplay because the camera moves with you during QTEs and stuff).
But is not just that, high frame-rate comes with other perks too like: less latency in the gameplay and almost unnoticeable dejudder effect.
Â
But what's the dejudder effect you ask? Well, if you play games or watch movies on a flat-screen then you already know what this ultra annoying thing that makes your eyes hurt real bad is, especially when playing first person games. This is the reason why scams like 120hz clear motion exist (to raise the price of the TV) but in reality that sh1t doesn't work very well and when it comes to games is even worse. Yes it fixes the dejudder but at the cost of insane latency and it still causes some artifacts that ruin the consistency of the overall image.
The Wikipedia definition of this phenomenon: "Normally, when a fixed framerate display such as an LCD screen is used to display a video source whose framerate is less than that of the screen, frames are often simply duplicated as necessary (e.g. 3:2 pulldown) to match the video refresh, which may introduce a visual artifact known as judder, perceived as "jumpiness" in the picture."
Now, what are the benefits of higher resolution? Slightly clearer text and sharper picture (but only when the camera is not moving). -Frame-Rate wins because it gives us better picture and less latency. So 720p/60fps > 1080p/30fps all day.
Â
------------other details
How do game developers combat the dejudder effect? With camera-based motion blur but even then on games like Uncharted and Assassins Creed is still persistently noticeable even with all the effects working on trying to soften this annoyingness.
Â
Now what you mothafukas think? You still think that Resolution is more important? Because I'm telling you, at least for gaming, Frame-Rate > Resolution. Â :)

It's a minor difference. People act like 30 fps is comletely unplayable, and yet I don't see it. It's a bit smoother yes, but nothing ground breaking. Give me 1080p 30fps over 720 60fps.
Expecially since my favorite genre is RPG's, and 30 fps is completely playable. I just got done finishing Bioshock Infiinite on PS3, and 30 fps didn't hamper anything by it. In fact some game engines even look wierd running in 60 fps, like they are in fast forward mode. Movies are 24fps by the way and when they are put into the new 48 fps mode, they look wierd as if fast fowarding has been applied too. When you get frame rate drops it's also more annoying, which is why bioshock infinite on PC bugs me, it goes getting 60 fps the whole time, then it bogs down immediately to 30 fps whenever actual lighting comes into the scene and that constant jumping from 60 to 30 to 60 is ultimately annoying. I would MUCH rather have a solid 30 FPS that maybe only dip to 27fps occasionally.Â
PC gamers still cant play Crysis 3 on ultra at 60 and i dont see them complaining. They instead say KZ SF 1080/30 is not good lol at least KZ SF never drops to 29 while their framerates are all over the place xD

Owned? Hardly. I merely asked a question. You taking it upon yourself to only respond to that part of the post, instead of the argument in which this thread is based upon, is affirmation enough that 1) your original comment was bunk and 2) you are clearly insecure about something and/or in need of validation of being a PC gamer.
Not like your steam is some kind of alpha portrayal anyways. According to your XBL account, you've played more games there than what you have played on STEAM. I know, there are other ways to get games on the PC, but I haven't even counted what games you may have played on the the PS3 or Wii...assuming you have one. Not exactly screaming hermit.Â
Claiming ownage on me asking for your steam (which I never doubted you had or insuniated any doubt) was cute though.
The difference is more noticeable if you use a mouse rather than a controller. And if it's jumping between 30 and 60 you are using vsync without triple buffering, which is your fault. It's a minor difference. It depends on there video card. If you want very high settings at 1920x1200 or under then 60FPS is easily possible with a mid range card (assuming the rest of the rig is decent). If you all the extra settings on (FXAA, AF) then you simply turn motion blur (preference setting) and shading (not even noticeable with very high shadows) both down to medium and you should get near 60FPS with a 660/7950 or higher graphics cardPC gamers still cant play Crysis 3 on ultra at 60 and i dont see them complainingKillzoneSnake

Keep backtracking all you want. You claimed lower framerates make games look better. Demanded I prove to you I'm a PC gamer and otherwise called me a lemming without any evidence. After providing with proof you showed either you don't know how to use the internet to do a simple search or used photoshop. You acknowledge there are games that can be played on PC through other services or methods but try to make a comparison between my Steam account and XBL account.Should I go on?

Also, when I seen public enemies in theaters, it looked like the whole movie was being speed up. Depends on the game engine and how it's animations are designed along with a framerate. Play Dead Space on PC and see what I mean, it's looks unnaturally speed up when you take off the lock to 30 fps.Â
Hermits really are just an elitist bunch grasping at staws at why their 1k + PCs barely beat out a console on 90% of games. 30 fps is fine for gaming, just as 24fps is fine for movies.
In both Far Cry 3 and Bioshock Infinite I've sacrificed 60 FPS for almost maxed out settings. I'd much rather have better visuals than a higher framerate.

24 fps is fine for movies because they're not interactive. At higher framerates, it starts to become more about the feel than the appearance. If a game has good animations, and it stays steady, sure, it will look plenty smooth at 30 fps. If that's what you're used to, 60 fps might even seem weird, but I love how smooth everything looks at 40-60, or even more. And the  feel  is what really makes it. I played Dead Space on PC. All three of them. They don't look bad at 30 fps. But they look even better at 50-60, and the feel, and responsiveness of the controls is unmatched. I couldn't possibly play Dead Space at 30 fps again, after figuring out that the vsync was broken, and turning it off gave me 60+ most of the time.

I've played Dead Space 1 and 2 at 60fps and neither looked sped up. Dont compare movies to games when it comes to framerate. Oh and if the opposite was happening and films had been 48fps all along and then switched to 24 people would hate on that. Its all about what your used to with film. Grasping at straws? No, no it's not :|.Â
It's as simple and logical as can be. You can say it "performs" better or "runs" better at 60 FPS, but what you will physically be looking at will be a better looking picture with lower frames. Not having to push 60 frames = better looking/more shit on screen.
senses_fail_06
That's not really true. Â It is possible to maitain 60 frames at max settings
Do I look like a fool to you, or perhaps, are you just not quite sure what you are talking about? :|
Let me know before I address your comment.Â
No, he's right. Not all devs fully push a console to their limits, and they limit FPS to 30 because of maybe only getting 45 or 55 FPS and not hitting 60, could be due to poor optimization or laziness. Dropping something like AA could give full 60FPS without dropping any graphics settings (but perhaps more jaggies on screen). Still, the problem with 30 fps is that frames tend to smear together in fast paced sequences, and as we all know, many games have fast paced sequences. I'd rather have the 60 FPS over a slightly deeper shadow look like HBAO (for example) and have crisp animations.I currently have a 24" 1080p TV and a 15" 1024x768 LCD monitor hooked up to my PC. Between the two, I've tried a myriad of resolutions between 800x600 and 1080p. I'll pick 1080p and 30fps (up to 60fps) over a lower res with 60fps everytime.

that is the funny thinga bout the cows argument. Â Crysis 3 on high still looks as good as or better than KZSF and my rig runs it on high at no lower than 50fps. Â Crysis 3 was designed to make GPUs bleed so yes if you turn it all the way up your GPU will buckle.
