[QUOTE="ChiefFreeman"]Nintendo rides the coattails of its past success. Do something new like Microsoft did when they created a great new franchise (Gears of War). Or like Sony with the upcoming Heavenly Sword. ShakeNBake1491I think Nintendo's continued use of their legendary franchises might have something to due with their ability to consistently deliver, and they have been giving us new franchises every year. Is there some other Nintendo you're talking about, because you seem to be wrong about who I'm talking about every time....That's true. They all deliver and have the brand to generate the hype. Not to mention they do actually reinvent through Mario. and there are other series that Nintendo has made. Upon the early days of last-gen Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Geist and other titles that are underrated or just single titles like Geist.
No, I'm speaking about the same old boring Nintendo. I give them credit for Ninja gaiden Ds though. That game looks really cool.ChiefFreemanThey have nothing to do with that game. Do you know what you're talking about at all?
yes, to me it is a big deal. Nintendo doesn't care about visuals at all.
Not this gen, but last gen SMS, WW, Z:TP, SSBM, MP 1 + 2, etc. were some of the best looking games. Now with the Wii, it doesn't matter if they chose to do HD graphics or not, the variaty of games this time makes up for it.
To answer your original question "Why get excited over another Paper Mario game that was made for the Gamecube?"
The answer: The last Paper Mario game that was made for Gamecube was an amazing game even by today standards; simple, no?
I won't be bothered with explaining why this game isn't a rehash at all, read any preview of the game and you'll find out why.
In the visual department, well the visuals are apparently "stellar and showcase a striking mix of style and tech." (Gamespot)
In short: We need more Paper Mario and less money for public schools
.

Yeat you have a RE4 icon which looks great on GC and better then the ps2 version.
Rehashed? Tell me one other game where you switch from 2D to 3D to solve different kind of puzzles which are related to platforming and RPG elements in the game, because the game is a... :o 2D/3D platformer/RPG! Something unique!!!Hungry_Homer111Agreed! The game is one of a kind!!
honestly, i found my self wondering the same thing :?
why did they have so many articles on the individual chapters before even reviewing it?
what happened to games like Goldeneye or Perfect Dark? Both considered to be 2 of the greatest shooters ever. i want to see something liek that that wil wow me now, like those titles did 7-10 years ago. ChiefFreemanAgain, neither of which had anything to do with Nintendo, outside of the games being on a Ninetendo console. Seriously, do you know what you're talking about?
They obviously felt it was worth writing about in detail, as there are many people who are very interested in the game.honestly, i found my self wondering the same thing :?

No, I'm speaking about the same old boring Nintendo. I give them credit for Ninja gaiden Ds though. That game looks really cool.ChiefFreemanPut it like this... You have a game like Gundam, and it doesn't sell very well at all. Wouldn't you be pretty reluctant to try to release a sequel to the game? Then you have a game like Grand Theft Auto, and it sells 11 million. I think you would want to build on that and try to release another game that could possibly sell the same or more, based on its reputation. Nintendo's done that, they released new franchises as well, confident that their brand name can carry the game. Seems to be working so far.

Plus, Metroid Prime 3 is coming out if you're only interested in shooters. I can't believe you are insulting the graphics of one of the moist stunning games this generation has yet seen (SPM)... that's just weird. And in terms of gameplay, this game is utterly unlike anything that has ever come before - it is the very definition of next-gen!

ChiefFreemanPlease stop drooling over your keyboard. Those are not made by MS or Sony. They're just on the system.
I fail to understand why Gamespot has devoted so much coverage to another Gamecube title that was converted to the Wii. Big deal. A Mario rpg with lackluster graphics, and this time you wave around a wiimote to control him. Wow. Nintendo is just knocking my socks off with these rehashed Gamecube titles. I'm glad I own an Xbox 360.ChiefFreemanBecause its a good game, who cares where the game started

It doesn't seem like especially because he seems to be jumping subjects in the thread from Paper Mario to Nintendo and now GoldenEye and Perfect. And he hasn't even acknowledged those that are essentially OWNING him. History lesson, Microsoft bought Rare which developed both of those games.
The whole individual chapter thing didn't make sense. They kinda ruined some of the game, so I'd rather not read it. But, it still doesn't stop me from being pumped for this game.honestly, i found my self wondering the same thing :?

Yet they don't update the visuals considerably. There's nothing groundbreaking about using a wiimote for this game either. It's totally not suited for it. Why would you need to wave a wiimote around to make a 2-d character do something? That isn't immersive. They're just trying to stock their library with filler.

None of the Nintendo made games are filler. Almost all of them are quality games. Stop posting your flawed opnions. Just because you don't like the idea of the game, doesn't make it "filler."Put it like this... You have a game like Gundam, and it doesn't sell very well at all. You don't know anything about the game. Period. You don't move the Wiimote to control the character, you hold it sideways, like an NES controller. Also, what does updating visuals have to do with anything? As long as the gameplay is updated and new, that's all that matters. Are you trying to tell me that you want a game like this...Yet they don't update the visuals considerably. That's what I was thinking too. I think we can expect SPM to get a 9.5+ if not a full 10....it sure has been a while.

Have you played it yet? No, none of us have. Furthermore, why the hell are you doing all of this, you're certainly not succeeding and it doesn't seem like you have any interest in the game and the Wii in general. Stop claiming things you know little about and trying to make your opinion seem like fact.I think we can expect SPM to get a 9.5+ if not a full 10....it sure has been a while.goblaaLet's not go crazy. well if Nintendo is all about "fun", then they should use some of their creativity and combine it with a beautiful looking game. Something without mushrooms or silly little childish characters.ChiefFreemanlittle do you know I Paper mario is a much more beautiful game than gears. I mean do you honestly find Marcus beautiful ( well if you do have a crush on marcus thats your right its a free country) sure he photorealistic but I wouldnt call it beautiful

I wasn't aware that Nintendo's sole buisness was to make games that appeal to you personally and no one else. You should send them an email so they can get right on that.
well if Nintendo is all about "fun", then they should use some of their creativity and combine it with a beautiful looking game. They've been around too long and appeal too children only.

Something without mushrooms or silly little childish characters.ChiefFreemanOh, shut up already. Just leave now. If you've actually played a game from Nintendo then you'll know that each and every game they develop is of top quality and loaded with fun. Haven't you eve played a Mario game? The world is called Mushroom Kingdom, it's what makes it Mario. Would you rather Mario be some random gun wielding guy with no personality placed in a huge hi-tech city full of no names to blast away?

Besides they don't need to make a game with great graphics, if u haven't noticed millions of people like how the graphics are. Nintendo is focusing on how fun the game is so they won't be modifying the game to impress the likes of you.
