well if Nintendo is all about "fun", then they should use some of their creativity and combine it with a beautiful looking game. Something without mushrooms or silly little childish characters.ChiefFreeman1) Paper Mario series is an incredibly beautiful game with more style in its little pinky than the vast majority of HD, look how many unneccessary graphical effects i can pack into superfluous items, games on your big fancy 360. 2) your concept of beauty seems very limited to what you think the most powerful system can produce; because of this you think that for a game to be beautiful that it NEEDS to produce such graphical effects. But the fact is that there is beauty in pretty much EVERYTHING, and that includes a wide variety of games. There is beauty in Paper Mario, there is beauty in every individual, there is beauty in architecture, nature, design, intelligence and style. 3) What does mushorroms and "childish" (which is up for debate btw) characters have to do with anything? Why do those things make a game bad or less beautiful? Lets hear it, son.
yes, to me it is a big deal. Nintendo doesn't care about visuals at all.ChiefFreemanDespite it's GC roots, the game's graphics are gorgeous in an artistic sense. If you cannot understand this, it's just your arrogance showing. Paper Mario games aren't meant to push graphics, but rather use techonolgy and graphics to use an art style. Hand drawn visuals, and worlds that vary in style like a storybook, are what makes these games great and gorgeous looking.

Something without mushrooms or silly little childish characters.ChiefFreemanThat's the kiddy statement. Real adults with real responsibilities don't care about the image of a game. They just care about having fun.
You can have too much guns and mature themes in your life. I get plenty of it when I flip on the news.
why no Rainbow Six Wii?ChiefFreemanWhy don't you just stop, you're not even contributing. You're just posting random and stupid things to put down Nintendo and the Wii. BTW, Rainbow Six is developed by Ubisoft.
[QUOTE="ChiefFreeman"]why no Rainbow Six Wii?ShakeNBake1491Why no Resident Evil 4 Xbox? Why no giant robots used as vehicles on southern california freeways? Asking such questions is pointless and chances are the individual who asks such questions, like why there is no Rainbow six wii, is designed to undercut the legitimacy or quality of a certain system. But it doesnt.
Heavenly Sword started out as a Xbox game and nobody seems to care. Two Human started out as a PS1 game, then a gamecube game and nobody cares. So why are people complaining about Super Paper Mario going from gamecube to Wii. Hell it didn't stop Eternal Darkness from going AAA.BlackbondI agree 100% with this statement. Well said.
I like multiplayer games, preferably shooters where teamwork is involved. Nintendo doesnt offer that.ChiefFreemanFine, then you should have said that. Why are you complaining about a game that just isn't in a genre you like? This game will be amazingly fun and looks positively stunning! If you don't like platformers or RPGs or games that combine the two, then clearly this isn't for you. But don't go claiming the game doesn't look fun.
I like multiplayer games, preferably shooters where teamwork is involved. Nintendo doesnt offer that.ChiefFreemanGreat. Wasted everyone's time. I guess a lot of people assumed this. To be honest, this thread is pointless because the claims you made about Super Paper Mario and Nintendo in general were seriously flawed. If it's not to your liking then leave it at that. And there's no reason to focus on Nintendo, just don't buy a Wii. It doesn't seem like you want one anyways. Maybe you should writer a letter to developers instead of doing all of this for nothing.
This game might be okay, but my main gripe with Nintendo is their poor online. They goofed up with the cube, and now they only have a marginal online system. I have heard nothnig about player support for the Wii. Where is mention of 16 player online or 32 player online games? Even the weaker Ps2 did it with Socom. Nintendo doesn't try hard to create their own, or lobby for a developer to make a truly great shooter/strategy game for their consoles anymore, and that really burns me. They still don;t have enough variety. I still can't shed the kid image of Nintendo.ChiefFreemanIt's hard to believe that this is your main gripe seeing as how you bashed every other thing about Nintendo and then came to this... Nintendo has the most variety out of any system though, so you still aren't making any sense.

yes, the LAST game made for a Nintendo console that wowed me.

And not counting cross-genre games like SPM! I do agree though that their online is currently lacking. However, Virtual Console annihilates anything SONY and M$ can come up with along the same vein.

My complaint never varied. I stated I have a preferance for shooters, which happen to appeal to a more mature crowd. Nintendo lacks these types of games for their consoles. they also usually showcase their graphics, which also appeal to me. Nintendo doesn;t try to use their creativity, or sway a third party developer to use their own creativity to make both a unique playing, as well as gorgeous looking game for their consoles anymore.

Oh, trust me, your complaint varied plenty of times. Check your damn thread title. What the hell does creativity mean to you if you think Nintendo doesn't use any? Nintendo basically told developers to stop being lazy bastards and also to make games fun for consumers. Whether or not they come through is their issue to straighten out.[QUOTE="goblaa"][QUOTE="ChiefFreeman"]This game might be okay, but my main gripe with Nintendo is their poor online. Yes, your complaint varied. You went off topic about 3 or 4 times. You started at SPM and Nintendo's lack of new development, than went onto how they didn't have enough game variety, than said they were kiddy, then finally said you had problems with there online. Stop changing the subject when people own you into the ground.[QUOTE="goblaa"][QUOTE="ChiefFreeman"]This game might be okay, but my main gripe with Nintendo is their poor online. Mature is a strong word... I would argue that people who play adventure games like Zelda and are willing to experiment with new game-types are more Mature. Maybe shooters appeal to the M-rated crowd, but that doesn't necessarily make them more Mature than people who play games that anyone is allowed to enjoy. Creativity is not Nintendo's problem either, they are breaking new ground game-play wise with this game and SMG looks like it will easily be the best platformer of the generation with its incredibly innovative take on the genre. Unique playing games is not Nintendo's problem either - Wii Play, SPM, SMG, MP3 - all unique playing. Also SMG, SPM and MP3 look stunning!! Photo-realistic doesn't = better. My problem isn't that super paper mario doesn't look as good as a traditional wii game, its that the game graphics themselves look like it could be done on the ds. I mean, truely compare this game to super mario world. Ds games are 30-40$ and wii games are 50$. Oh well, hopefully it'll be a fun game anyways.hazukiAre you kidding? The game looks amazing!! It's intentionally nostalgic, but the crisp, clean lines and colourful 2D/3D world is lovely. The art design is flawless.

[QUOTE="ChiefFreeman"]Paper mario could be done on the Dreamcast.web966OK. I dont care,
Should we just ignore him and let him play in his shooter only world that for some reason does not include PC? The TC apparently jusct came here to stir up controversy and to try and challenge our ideas of a quality game with his opinion of how gaming should be.

And your perception of Nintendo is seriously flawed. Why are still going on about this anyways. How many different arguments are you going to direct negatively to the Wii? Stop jumping from one to the next and just stop completely.

You have most definitely broight up many different "gripes" with Nintendo, and all of them failed. To me it seems you're just interested in the graphical achievement (and even that isn't true since you still haven't acknowledged style among your previous posts) of games. Have you noticed that the Wii has caught interest of third party developers? Sure no major titles are announced YET but that's to be expected given that the console just launched. Please Log In to post.
