With the recent change in CEO's seems like the new CEO is already starting things as Bungie currently is sending emails to all its players asking them what they look for in the future from Destiny as well as asking those who havent logged in for a while on the reason why they stopped playing Destiny

So SW members why have you stopped playing Destiny?

http://n4g.com/news/1859490/bungie-asks-why-you-havent-been-playing-destiny

To me? i ran out of things to do, only come back for the PvP then log out

The better question is: "How did you fall for our PR and buy the game in the first place?"

Never played it in the first place because

a) It didn't appeal to me

b) The business model for the game looked like a milking shed.

Despite their lies about the game before launch it still ended up being a fun game with friends, PvP is also very fun but unlike games like Call of Duty, in destiny there are literally like 5 modes when CoD has 20+....

It was just a boring ass experience. Played about 40 hours of it then decided I had other games I would enjoy more. Only put that many hours in because my friends all had it.

Well I got in with the Taken King. Played through the story, enjoyed it quite a bit. I even grinded a little to get some cool stuff. And then I reached the point where I had to either PVP, go on very lengthy raids, or repeat the same content over and over and over again. I started losing interest. The thing that killed it in the end was that, the festival (I think it was Halloween) and the micro transactions. The festival was a little too grindy for me, and with that and micro transactions you introduce content that I probably can't ever get, which is killer.

Also, why wasn't it on PC. Every game plays differently on PC than on a console. I don't get why or how that would be a problem. You could have even restricted it to be controller only if balancing the game for mouse and keyboard would be the problem.

It would have flopped on PC and died quickly, there are far more and better MMO's and Activision know it better than most publishers, they're partnered with the MMO king (Blizzard) after all . Consoles don't have the same options.

That and in general we're an entitled bunch that expect developers to deliver the content they promise, usually for free.

Because of The Taken King. It's not DLC, it's blackmail to coerce you to re-buy the game you already paid for, to keep it playable.

Hmm. I guess it would have died off quickly. And competition on PC is fierce. Well I would have bought it on PC. Spent considerably more on Warframe through the years, but I was kind of done with that.

I still play it every now and then but however, I done all that I did for The Taken King, I'm a Destiny Veteran since launch. I'm pretty much running out of steam as it is, I rarely play Destiny as it is, I had fun, I met some really cool players during my play with Destiny but now, I found myself a new girlfriend to play it, her name is The Division. Yep I'm moving out of my old girl for a new girl. Sorry but that life sweetheart.

Quit playing it a month or so after it came out. Seems like people are still complaining about the same problems. Grinding through the same dungeons ad nauseum for gear upgrades just isn't fun. Game needs far more content than it does.

Because they basically deleted all our gear and weapons from year one, because there's no new DLC or content and because PVP is still a laggy mess.

PC community wouldnt get along too well i feel with a game like this as its a game that require working with randoms a lot of times and being nice to one another.

i've had one experience with PC gaming once back when steam offered a free MW3 multiplayer gaming weekend, so i downloaded it and started my very first match of MW3 on PC, noticed that people were typing and doing conversations with one another on the screen (which i still think is very neat!) so my first thing i wrote was "Hey guys! first time gaming on PC, i play mw3 so much on PS3 so im a complete noob with mouse and keyboard lol" you know what the replied i got? some were saying go back console noob, some were like lol 10 year old console gamer or lol controller kid.. garbage community, deleted the game and steam that day lol

Cause it was never a good game. If they want me to buy their games they're gonna have to make something that isn't Destiny and doesn't copy all the boring grinding.

The first two months of taken kind were so much fun.. then the repetitiveness came to place lol

if you check the bungie forums right now the very first topic which has many likes is footage of fallout 4 making fun of destiny, theres a small scene in fallout 4 where one guy mentioned something about a change of .04% which is something that bungie has done last year in regards to weapon balanes where they lied to the fanbase saying weapons will change by 4% but when the update dropped it was actually .04% which means no change LOL

the bungie forums are filled with posts of people making fun of bungie (they literally became the clowns of devs this generation :P)

Im sure there are, i was only talking about my first impressions and how from that first impression destiny dosent seem like a game right for the PC world as this is a game that requires working with players no matter what their skill level is then again that was one game and a single match so dosent mean everyone are like that on the platform

I just want a new story or reason to to do what a game asks. Granted many of the game I play employ killing enemies whether by melee, hac n slash, or some form of shooting, defending the "traveler" just isn't all that gripping. I bought taken king when it was finally heavily discounted but I'd rather play halo 5 campaign repeatedly or warzone; rise of theTR and now Baba Yaga, and fallout4.

Not to mention mgs5.

  • Gutted story, which you bastards turned into a stupid card system
  • No third person camera setting (seriously you give us armor to customize our avatars, yet we can only view it in the tower or during a 3 sec special)
  • Xur
  • I'm gonna mention story again cause after reading what was suppose to be in Destiny I just wanna look at the window lickers who decided to cut that content and tell them how much of a pos they are and the only jobs they are suited for are flipping fries, cause they honestly suck at making choices for the amount of money they make.
  • Garbage PR, I can't remember his name but holy shit did that guy suck arse, literally would say one thing and a week later change what he said

The only way I would buy Destiny 2/go back to Destiny is if Bungie walks their happy ass back to MS, admit they fraked up leaving cause they suck ass w/o MS, then I might consider playing Destiny/buying Destiny 2

" It's a fun game as long as you have friends that play with you" is a common excuse/reason/saying to why people still play this game. This is a misconception. 80% of the time it's fun to play any game with a bunch of friends. Destiny was just well marketed and probably sucked in a whole bunch of people on your friends list when it came out. The fact that a person has at least one friend playing the game only increases the chances of you playing the game more. The game is popular because it revolves around having friends play with each other. It's popularity was gained through wonderful PR and friends recommending others to get the game. Destiny is a bad game. In terms of co-op shooters, there are way better games out there. Destiny is just a milk machine. A loot sytem that has been broken since day one and hasn't been fixed. Bad netcoding during PvP. The game is amateur in it's execution of some of it's important components. The gunplay is good but I expect no less from Bungie and I wouldn't be surprised if they used a hybrid of Halo shooting mechanics. The rest is just very average. Oh not to mention the game is ridiculously high in production values which adds to the PR.

Lol Destiny.

That's my answer to Bungie. If they'd make a good game sometime, I'd gladly play it.

1st rule of playing online on PC. never ever open chat.

I saw this on YouTube last night, or maybe on Twitter... anyhow, I never got an email and it's been several months since I last touched it. I'd of loved to explain what I thought was wrong. It wasn't the microtransactions, I've a feeling lots of people will say that even though they probably stopped playing long before that otherwise they'd have something more constructive to say. For me, it's the MP mode that caters to pre-assembled fireteams rather than having matchmaking options for every co-op mission. Plus they failed in their scaling up of certain activities like Prison of Elders after the level cap was lifted. Overall I absolutely hate the Taken as a race, love the Hive, Cabal, the Fallen, Vex, but I just hate the Taken, they seem to add a way too paranormal theme to the game and undermine the sci-fi setting. And given the Taken King was $40 and didn't add nearly enough, I won't be getting the two other expansions they have planned this year.

I'm less angry at Bungie though, more upset at the gaming press that gave us the reassurance this was a solid update. The update that Destiny desperately needed so they said. What a crock of shit.

I bought it at launch, played it for a month and sold the game. Here were my reasons:

- Lack of transparency from Bungie (the game fails at basically everything promised)

- Lack of content (3 or 4 planets with linear paths)

- Maps are blocked by invisible walls

- Ridiculously long loadings

- Repeated environments

- Lack of activities

- Lack of incentive to explore (no interesting landmarks, diverse loot, etc.)

- Weak story, characters and lore

- Lack of interactivity and destruction in the scenarios

- Multiplayer with up to 12 players in 8th generation. Bungie should look at games like Battlefield 4 and Planetside 2 to get an idea of how it's done ...

In its favor, as we expect from any Bungie game, the gameplay is excellent.
