I'm curious why he listed PS1 twice (PSX is PS1) and also the cell and PSP GO. Go was an utter failure in every sense, and the cell is laughable to your average Hermit when it comes to power.

It has the most momentum right now, that's why. If the 360 has the same success this year like the PS3 did last year roles will reverse.

There will always be fanboys but the popular ones were guys like General MLD, Saolin, Red Cloak, Yellow, Dan the man, and many more, etc. Those guys were very, very Xbox oriented, which was fine, and they had a lot of influence. Overtime (2006-2007ish?) they left, and here we are today. MGS4 (mid 2008 ) market a turning point for the PS3. It wasn't until later that year in 2008 with LBP and R2 adding two more AAA's to the PS3 did this place start to begin to balance out.

We all saw how 2009 went, so obviously that has pushed the PS3 into a more popular status, which is where we are today.

The Sheep were strong going into this gen...but overime there strength has dwindled.

As far as the notion there are more cows than any other faction, that's not the case. What has happened is there are more PS3 owners. They aren't cows, as they still have 360's or Wii's, but they exist now. The PS3 fanboy populace has increased of course, but not to any level where this is cowspot.Cows are just more numorous as the PS3 is affordable now ($299). PS3 does have momentum right now, that can't be argued, and does of course affect SW as well.

You guys remember accusations of Lemspot, correct? 2004-mid 2008? I think it's funny how temporary memories are here sometimes. Polls are all over the place here, and the populace changes at any given time.

In the end, some days it is cowspot, some days it is lemspot, but I haven't seen a sheepspot in quite a while. It doesn't help the Wii has had an AAAE drought since early 2008. That didn't help matters. I'm looking forward to Sheep day 2010...I'm sure the AAAE drought will end this year for the Wii, and I look forward to visiting SW that day. :P

Remember too guys, it's also about PERCEPTION. If you like a system, you may be more sensitive to comments against that system, you know? That's a heavy role here in SW, and we tend to forget it.

while I personally think everyone should play what they enjoy and not bash other systems I don't understand this topic.

in my five plus years here I have noticed a definite bias towards the 360 on Gamespot and especially in System Wars.

Not by the mods or the site itself but by the community.

it has equalized out some and there are more visible fans for each system but there are is still more pro 360 than anything else.

The favored system on system wars is never constant, from when 360 launch untill about last year imo. 360 reigned heavily. It was hilarious how much cows got bashed on, that was when the whole "Just wait" started, because there were threads everyday made by cows telling everyone how ps3 was going to make a comback with a certain game. I didnt notice ps3 becoming the favored console untill last year, 2008 was a good year for ps3, but it didnt get any actual love untill 2009 with the constant stream of great titles.

The Playstation brand has been going for about 15 years. PS2 sold 100 million. There has to be a certain amount of brand loyalty built up with those sort of numbers.

I started off as an XBOX guy because the PS3 launched at such a high price with no games. Then my 360 broke. Then it broke again. Now they want another $100 to fix it and I'm just fed up with M$!

The PS3 is also waaaaaay more quiet than the 360, which goes a long way for me in my quiet house. Also, the PS3 game library has really gotten better, though I do wanna play Fable 3 and Alan Wake. Its just the thought of paying for them to fix a faulty product makes me sick to my stomach...

It does seem to me that a lot of people are enjoying their ps3's these days moreso. At least from what I read. For example if I ask people right now what their favorite console is right now more people are going to say the ps3. I was just wondering why. Is it the people who have ps3's just want to like it more, or do they really like it more?

i posted a poll a while back as far as what people think is the best console. i've done this a few times and most people vote for the ps3. Is this a case of fanboys wanting to justify their purchase because they spent so much money for it or is there another more logical nonbiased reason?

To be honest I've had a 360 this entire gen. I'm starting to find the games to be missing that extra something and if you have a good reason why i should spend that kind of money now is your chance. To be honest i've held off this long ebcause ps3 exclusives for the most part are pretty limited. I do think it has more potential but it's not really being taken advantage of like i would like.

those are my reasons for holding off.

huge edge is relative. Compared to past gens that list is pretty limited compared to what hte ps2 had is what i'm saying due to the dent that MS has made. Most games this gen are clearly multiplat between platforms. In the past it was a pretty clear choice on certain things. If you wanted to play GTA last gen, Final Fantasy, EAsports games the gen before you clearly went sony. This gen it's split down the middle and the 360 has the edge in certain regards as well. Multiplats and DLC being two big ones.

well that's what i'm saying. A lot of people think the ps3 is the best. I posted a few polls over the last few weeks here. ASking what people thought the best console was. The PS3 won on like 65% of the votes out of like 500 votes. The 360 got like 25 percent and the wii got like 10 percent. It was backwards. That's why i asked.

Do people that have the ps3 think it's exclusives are more interesting or something?

Reason I ask this is because I'm kind of tired of the same games over and over and I can only take so much Halo and Gears. Neither game is that great or revolutionary imo. Cool games and groundbreaking in certain regards sure. Is the ps3 being more innovative with their games? To me I look at the 360 I see Alan Wake coming. Splinter Cell. Halo Reach. ME2 just came out. All good games. I see the PS3 and I see THe SHow, Heavy Rain, God of War, GT5 etc... I see games like uncharted, and mgsiv, demon souls and wipeout xl that i've played somewhat but not to any great length.

Wrong, multiplatform games that are devolped (For example) on the 360 first, will look better on the 360 first due to the rendering purposes off it, which then has to be transferred onto the ps3 rendering system. - more games WERE rendered on xbox 360first in 2006 - 2007 . now there MAINLY being renderred on the ps3 firstto get the full potintial the game has.;) times have changed.

Well, it's an easy answer, guys...

1. Brand Loyalty. The PS2 was incredibly popular. Lots of people became Sony fans because of that. So that carried over to the PS3.

2. There may be more cows here. That, or cows are more vocal. For God's sake, I think people voted R&C over the 360's entire 2009 library.

3. Backlash. TBH, the PS3 wasn't really woth owning until 2008/2009. And it got the hell bashed out of it for it. Now, with 2009's excellent year, it's actually competitive with the 360. Cows are never gonna let people forget that.

4. The sheep are dead, for all intents and purposes. They'll come out of the woodwork when someone attacks Nintendo, but that's about it. And hermits only come around to show off "teh graphics", and other PC related things like KB-mouse.

5. Maybe we don't notice other fanboys as much. :P

This!!! This site has turned into the HAlo Reach fanboy hive. Anyone saying one bad thing about halo gets a 1000x crazy lemmings and even some cows and sheep telling them their wrong and that halo reach is best game ever...lol... the game isn't even out.
