Well thats fine by me, but I'm usually praising/defending the PS3 whenever something good happens; for instance GOW3 this march lol or whenever someone tries to bash it. I like the 360 too but usually the bashing goes with PS3. If this was cowspot, then you'd see me going 50/50.

i posted a poll a while back as far as what people think is the best console. i've done this a few times and most people vote for the ps3. Is this a case of fanboys wanting to justify their purchase because they spent so much money for it or is there another more logical nonbiased reason?

To be honest I've had a 360 this entire gen. I'm starting to find the games to be missing that extra something and if you have a good reason why i should spend that kind of money now is your chance. To be honest i've held off this long ebcause ps3 exclusives for the most part are pretty limited. I do think it has more potential but it's not really being taken advantage of like i would like.

those are my reasons for holding off.

this is what i dont understand you can only win in sales i could really like a rated 5 game and think its the best or i could play ME2 it got a 9 i think and feel like its a 7 really games is all subjective here and then when games is being talked about the rules become twisted as the conversation continues...although 300 aint bad for a ps3 i think you get a bang for your buck if you buy it but thats my opinion.

IMO there are no decent rpgs on the system, unless you like the Bethesda games and Dragon Age Origins.

I traded in the PS3 so I could finally see what Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey were like. The only regret is not doing it earlier.

All consoles and PC here, and I just enjoy the games on the PS3 the most. I love action/adventure games though and the 360 really is lacking there so it makes sense for me to spend more time on the other consoles.

Because those people actually like the PS3 the most? There's nothing wrong with that, I love my PS3. I personally think the DS is the best gaming system this gen, but I can understand why people would choose both the 360 and PS3. No point in actually trying to come with conspiratory conjecture. Everyone is different in their preferences.

well that's what i'm saying. A lot of people think the ps3 is the best. I posted a few polls over the last few weeks here. ASking what people thought the best console was. The PS3 won on like 65% of the votes out of like 500 votes. The 360 got like 25 percent and the wii got like 10 percent. It was backwards. That's why i asked.

Reason I ask this is because I'm kind of tired of the same games over and over and I can only take so much Halo and Gears. Neither game is that great or revolutionary imo. Cool games and groundbreaking in certain regards sure. Is the ps3 being more innovative with their games? To me I look at the 360 I see Alan Wake coming. Splinter Cell. Halo Reach. ME2 just came out. All good games. I see the PS3 and I see THe SHow, Heavy Rain, God of War, GT5 etc... I see games like uncharted, and mgsiv, demon souls and wipeout xl that i've played somewhat but not to any great length.

Well the thing about the PS3 is there exclusvies truley are exclusive. Not to bash on the 360 it does have some great titles but I own multiple platforms and some of the best titles on the 360 that are not on the Ps3 are also on the pc. Its kind of a slap in the face when what was previously a 360 exclusive comes out to the pc a year later with a host of new content and features.With the PS3 exclusvies you dont see that, you know as a Ps3 owner if you want to play that title the only way you can do it is if you get a ps3 and the quality of there exclusives is truely above and beyond anything I have on the 360. Rather that be becaue the PS3 is more powerful are the devs just spend so much more money and time on the projects the fact still remains I think I get a better expereince with the exclusives on my PS3 then my 360.

Then theres the sheer overal value. The PS3 is the only system currently on the market that is sold for less then what its worth and with all its multimedia features and BR player I dont really see how anyone couldnt think its the best choice of the 3 consoles.

And I don't have fanboy goggles either.

You might have been able to spot the differences at launch, but if a game has any difference now, its a small framerate drop which your eyes won't notice. Bayonetta was just an example of lazy devs, not a testiment to anything pertaining to the ps3's hardware. And any delays in multiplats now is typically our xbox LIVE dollars at work. take away the subscription fee, and everyone gets games and DLC at the same time (save the lazy devs). Given a very select few examples, multiplats are exactly the same as far as anyone can tell. I think the price drop in the ps3 and the fact that bluray won the HD war gave the Sony side a lot to gloat about. As far as the PC goes, it matters for a select few. I'm starting to find the 360 games i like are also on my PC, so if my 360 goes out i don't know that i'll replace it. The PC gets most 360 exclusives and their own exclusives (KillingFloor is best deal ever), while the ps3 gets their exclusives "exclusively". I will say i enjoy playing on LIVE and PSN more than on PC, PC players are just a different crowd. much less casual. but keep in mind, most people with a 360 or ps3 don't have a gaming PC. thats the reason for consoles.

I've been here years and some of you might have heard of me :P, and even longer than my account suggests. Gamespot was a PC only site, and when it went to consoles, there wasn't a lot of fanboy's for Nintendo, and especially Sony machines. The Xbox had Sega and Micro fans from the get go here, and it was very interesting. I liked coming to SW because this place was one of the few places on the net that the PS2 was heavily hated on (I'm talking about the SW community). It was most interesting to see that here. IGN's community for instance, was the opposite, it seemed. Of course, there has always been fanboys for all the machines GC, Xbox, and PS2. I'm not suggesting that it was that lopsided.

Have you guys ever really looked at the fanboy names and thought about them...Lemming, Sheep, Cow, Hermit? C'mon, which ones are the most derogatory? It's obvious.

Over time, more fans came on board for all the machines, but the Xbox 1 was far more popular in SW than you would see in reality. I don't know if that has to do with Xbox management being so well versed in the net, GS's history as a PC site, but created an interesting place.

Wii60 was even a hugely popular notion, that all here are quick to forget. Wii60 Unions were going proud, banners, and of course, a there are still unions here today at GS that are still infested Wii60 styIe, they just keep that quiet these days.

The PS3 had some love before the $599 pricepoint, at the point, until about mid 2008, it was tough to be a PS3 owner. There will always be fanboys but the popular ones were guys like General MLD, Saolin, Red Cloak, Yellow, Dan the man, and many more, etc. Those guys were very, very Xbox oriented, which was fine, and they had a lot of influence. Overtime (2006-2007ish?) they left, and here we are today. MGS4 (mid 2008 ) market a turning point for the PS3. It wasn't until later that year in 2008 with LBP and R2 adding two more AAA's to the PS3 did this place start to begin to balance out.

We all saw how 2009 went, so obviously that has pushed the PS3 into a more popular status, which is where we are today.

The Sheep were strong going into this gen...but overime there strength has dwindled.

As far as the notion there are more cows than any other faction, that's not the case. What has happened is there are more PS3 owners. They aren't cows, as they still have 360's or Wii's, but they exist now. The PS3 fanboy populace has increased of course, but not to any level where this is cowspot.Cows are just more numorous as the PS3 is affordable now ($299). PS3 does have momentum right now, that can't be argued, and does of course affect SW as well.

You guys remember accusations of Lemspot, correct? 2004-mid 2008? I think it's funny how temporary memories are here sometimes. Polls are all over the place here, and the populace changes at any given time.

In the end, some days it is cowspot, some days it is lemspot, but I haven't seen a sheepspot in quite a while. It doesn't help the Wii has had an AAAE drought since early 2008. That didn't help matters. I'm looking forward to Sheep day 2010...I'm sure the AAAE drought will end this year for the Wii, and I look forward to visiting SW that day. :P

Remember too guys, it's also about PERCEPTION. If you like a system, you may be more sensitive to comments against that system, you know? That's a heavy role here in SW, and we tend to forget it.

I have been visiting gamespot since they bought out gamecenter; however, I have not joined the fun in the forums until recently. It has definitely been a ride.

I don't even know when the ps3 got so popular (must have been around 2009 sometime). I still remember the days when the xbox fanboys were in abundance. It's weird how things change around here so quickly. :(. It is kind of understandable why the ps3 got so much hate in the beginning though. Sony just wasn't doing what they needed to do and came off as being arrogant.
