Gamers are buying as well though. I think the wii is sorta the revival of the family system. People playing as families once more and having "game nights". It's a nice changeBecause non-gamers (a far, far bigger demographic than hardcore gamers) are buying it.

Because I made a huge rant thread and got out of control I will keep it rather simple. Do you actually do any research on Wii games and do you actually know whyyou bought the console? Also, as far as I've read the wii ties and/or suupasses the 360 in software sales.
It appeals to the casual (largest) demographic. It's cheap and has sort of become the next "in" thing to have.
1. Gimmick appeal and public conception of technology. People don't generally buy Wii for games, they buy it for Wii.
Once Sony and MS release their motion control peripherals it should curb the sales of the Wii simply because suddenly motion controls won't be "new" anymore once everyone's doing it.
2. Kids. Believe it or not, the Wii does have the best library for children.
It is different and cheap. Im a harcore gamer and I love my Ps3 and 360 (MAN THE PS3 IS FINALLY getting awsome!!) But To me the Ps3 and 360 are really just the same as the Ps2 and X-box one with extra pollys. The wii is different, and some games (See no more hero, Metriod Prime 3 to get what im saying) feel really new and interesting with the Wii. Im also a legacy gamer and ther are a tom of turbo graphix 16 games on there that are tough to find so the wii is great for that too. (get secret of mana and Phantasy Star 4 on virtual console they rock bigtime!)
Some of us like it when one of the 3 does something different and I for one would have been bored if Nintendo was just like Ps3 and 360 and the Ds was like a lame-sauce Psp (im a admitted Psp hater i will never get why anyone thinks that its any good at all)
Cause somehow Mario and Zelda are the only games I have played since I was a child and I can't move on from them. I grew out from Pokemon and Dragonball Z games but why not Mario and Zelda!?For the most part I agree with this thread, but why do you unfortunately like Mario and Zelda? :(

I disagree with your opinion TC, I believe the Wii rocks. I enjoy the many games that Nintendo made, For some reason I don't believe Nintendo has made very many family games as they have core titles... SMG, MP3:C, SSBB, LoZ: TP aren't really famr ily titles. But basiclyy, I disagree with your opinion.dotWithShoesU have an avatar based off of a Nintendo character! I'm gonna listen to u!?
Too embarrassed to play THAT.By the way I recomend little kings story if you want a really fun weird game its amazingly good :)

No, I was just questioning why it is an unfortunate thing that you like those games :P It should be fortunate that you like good games.

because grandma needs something to play 2 the wii is not a real gamers console.johnny27
Yep, you are right!
The so called "True-lagadagaaggaga, harda-corda, Real-lagadagamigalabugadagagagagag gamagagagdugalagaga" should only care about themselves at the expense of everyone else, they should only love the "Maturagalagabeganugabugagagagagag gamagagadugalagag"games, because only those games are for the "Real-lagadagamigalbugadagagagagaga gamagas!" The "Real-lagadagamigalbugadagagagaga gamagas" HATES the Wii because they are not for us, they are for "Them" and sense we only care about ouselves, teh Wii teh suxxxx!!!!! WA-AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
...Well, the TRUE REAL gamers play ALL games of ALL genres, ilks and kind, and learn to enjoy them all, kiddie, mature, min or blockbusters.......Any "REAL" gamers that hates a console just because it doesn't go up their alley is NOT a REAL gamer....They are....yep..."I'magalaga, a teh REAL-lagadagamigalabugadagaagagaga, harda corda, Matura-lagadedigagagaga gamagalagagagag!"

Wii's current attach ratio is around a 7 now with around 380 million units of software sold.....
Ohh wait, the so called "REALGA GAMAGA" reaction "WAHHHH....bu..bu...the Wii Fit.....Wahhh...teh Wii Sport........Wahhh......Wii Play....Wahhhh....bu....bu...buuu...my neighbor's son's wife's daughter's aunt's grandson's son's don't play teh Wii much...."
Face the facts....three years now....with a 50 million userbase....If that is true.....Then how de heck did Nintendo sold 380 million units of software? Now closing in (or is it even more) than the X360?
because its revolutionary it offers a very balanced variety of games it offers many exclusives and what else can i say since im not a fan of any kind i think you should own a wii and a ps3 or a wii and 360 ,,
either console is good,
because you get more to choose from heck go all 3 your cooler ,
its price is another thing its 50 cheaper then the ps3 and 360
and its games are 10 cheaper
take a recession into account , this is what happens

Stop it you are blinding people with your rational thinking. There is no place for you on SW lol.

I'm 23, now we have all 3 current gen systems in our house. I own 33 Wii games, 3 PS3 games and 42 360 games. With all the titles currently out and the ones coming out I think the Wii has the best gaming libary. I play games for fun and I judge them on that. But the 360 and PS3 got all the AAA titles and the multiplats...I play games not ******* scores. I don't give a rats *** what GS gave game a over game b. I'll judge my own games, and for the multiplats yes the Wii misses out on some great games but that why I'm glad I have my 360 (I know I have a PS3 also but I like the 360 controller better).
The Wii complements your 360 and/or PS3. I have all three and if I had to get rid of one console it would defnitely NOT be the Wii. The 360 and PS3 are too similar. There ARE good games on the Wii, amidst all the other junk that's out there. You just have to be selective in what you buy. LKS is awesome. Zack and Wiki is one of the best. I could list all the usual stuff MKW, SMG, Zelda, RE4, etc. but you get my point. The VC has some old legacy games that I love re-living (I'm 29 and grew up on the NES/SNES/Genesis era). But you're right--I'd never only have the Wii. It doesn't offer enough for single player gaming.
The Wii is good for parties and for the family. It's a way to pass time with your loved ones--and sometimes I do like pick 'em up, brainless, casual games. It's fun to just play some WSR with your wife/gf. It's hilarious when you have your friends over playing WSR. I'd never play that game by myself because it gets boring, but for the interaction with family and friends, I like it way better than the 360/PS3.
My sister has one. My aunty bought one for my 5 yr old nephew. A family friend bought one for her 4yr old son. My mate bought one for his sister. 3 family friends have them for their children all aged under 12. i only know one person over 18 who has one who is my mate and thats because he loves the nintendo originals. So thats 7 people under 12 who have one and 1 over 18
I just don't enjoy most of the games at all. I never even found one thing "revolutionary" about the Wii and the games. Either u waggle the remote like a moron or its just unresponsive sometimes. Not only that, I understand if the games are "good" but they look so cutesy for someone like me to be seen playing. The Wii complements your 360 and/or PS3. Okay?
When it comes to personal opinion, I think that GS scores overinflate the Wii's library.
I think I need an idea of what Wii owners play. What games actually appeal to you? You say you love your Wii and then give no examples......what gives? Give me a list?
CoreoVII
Dude its simple
Mario something
Zelda something
metroid something
Because Nintendo is like, the McDonald's of the gaming industry (Heck, McDonald's has always been popular).

Well, I'm sure it's different for each person, But I've been playing...
Wii sports resort, Mario kart, Mario galaxy, zedla, metroid, zack and wiki, lost winds, world of goo, smash bros, boomblox, madworld, deblob, tiger woods, and call of duty to name a few. I'm also really really looking forward to silent hill, NSMB, and red steel 2.

I can help this is what I own on it and why.
Before i start I will note that I have 5 best friends that all love video games and we all hang out and play stuff so this instantly makes the wii awome. (extention point we are over 21 and this makes the wii the best party system ever and if you do not get what im saying good for you do not ever change!)
Koolaid party = party where people come over that are over 21 years of age and take small portions of koolaid in the face every time they loose at a game.
My collection:
1. No more Heroes! ( Amazing game and Bloody and Crazy and SO SO SO FUNNY!!)
2. Mad world (see No more heroes for why)
3. Deadly Creatures (Who would not want to be a awsome deadly bug creature that has mad tanking capabilities?!?! hello?
4. Final Fantasy CC my life as the Darklord (amazingly awsome Tower Defence game that you get to be the bad guy!)
5. Metroid Prime 3 (no need to explain just go play it)
6. Little Kings story (looks really imature untill you acutally play it. AWSOME GAME!!)
7. Super Smash Bros Brawl. (Awsome for what i will call koolaide drinking parties!)
8. Mario Kart Wii (see Koolaid drinking)
9. Wii Play (koolaid!)
10. Brain age ( cause my friends like to mak eachohter feel stupid)
11. SMG (Beat it love it, beat it with Luigi after loved it again)
12. Zelda TWP. (go go Spinner!!)
13. Super Paper Mario (awsome game weird but awsome)
14. Wario ware (See koolaid party)
15. Okami (loved it then love it more on the wii!!)
16. Dragon Quest swords (who doesnt love to wave thier sword at people?)
I own all the systems and I really think the wii is the most fun if you have real life friends. Even if you do not it is still fun. I hope this helps you understand the mind of the Wii gamer! Ok now im off to play Shadow Complex on the 360 i hope my wii will forgive me lol
curb the sales of the WiihakanakumonoWii sales have dropped off considerably in recent months. It only outsold the 360 by about 50k units I believe whereas the 360 remained static year-over-year. I conclude that the PS3 and 360 will be the two consoles to get this holiday season - Wii will still outsell them but not by the margin that we've been seeing. I foresee Nintendo pinching their supply channels to evoke demand again.
