@Salt_The_Fries: You are asking a question like this, but I must ask anyone who would ask such a question about a movie, book, music artist, or in this case video game...Did you actually complete all three main Naughty Dog developed Uncharted games? That should answer your question, although at times it seems you are fixated on Sony games and/fans. In this case, you are accusing Sony's Uncharted as as series as a "messiah" and "darling" but you haven't bothered to COMPLETE those older games in question (although you mentioned you did at least play the first game somewhat). If I wondered about Mario, Zelda, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Fable, Uncharted, Infamous, Starcraft, Street Fighter, or God of War...I would just play them. Then, if I still had sincere (KEY WORD sincere) questions, I would pose them after completing the titles. This entire thread doesn't seem genuine or sincere in 2014 as you had ample time to play and complete these games before posing this question. Then, taking into consideration your particular fixation with Sony/Playstation products, it doesn't seem to add up to a discussion worth pursuing.
exempli gratia: I just don't understand why people talk about The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, or Joy Division? Why are they the darling bands commonly referred to by other bands and people? People's first response to you would be to ask if you even ever listened to an entire album? If you haven't, it's a waste of time discussing the pros and cons of The Beatles as you have no CONTEXT to refer to. The same could be said of various authors like Shakespeare or movie directors like Christopher Nolan.
Person 1: Why do people like Chris Nolan's or Quentin Tarantino's Movies?
Person 2: Have you watched any of their movies?
Person 1: No, but I saw a part of one of the movie Inception briefly at a friends house. I also saw a part of Pulp Fiction another day. I don't get why people consider these directors good or why these films are "darlings"...
Person 2: Uhhhh, I'm not going to discuss this until we find some common ground. You may discover after watching these movies you don't like them or you may find out you love them. Until that point, I can't answer your question as accurately as possible until I know you aren't wasting both of our time.
You can't go anywhere with this thread in the same vein. This Uncharted thread is the same case. You haven't done the proper research, you don't own a PS3 nor Naughty Dog's games, so discussing this in length really won't go anywhere. The trolls will be pleased I guess, but is that what you wanted to hear? You want validation from trolls and fanboys?
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems you only played 2007's Uncharted game at some point as you mentioned later in this thread to someone else. Pity. I'll add a follow up post instead.
