Ok lets summarize all the strong reasons :

1) Lack of 3rd party support in general , serious lack. So serious that console becoming a dust collector for few months till something great gets a release.

2) Not appealing AT ALL to graphic whores and the ones that want to keep up with eye candy games

3) Overused of same first party titles got people tired and/or even worse ... younger audiences not that interested .. their main audience that is.

4) Lack of any serious multiplayer game that people love to play for hours and hours ( COD / BF / Destiny / Diablo 3 and so many other successful MP games missing from system ) People often choose a console for MP , depends what their friends own so they can play together... Wii U is not one of those consoles.

5) Its not following in hardware tech the competition ( missing multimedia capabilities and so on ) , people finding it kinda overpriced as we speak considering its heading to its death and its overall specs

6) Currently in life support , waiting for 1-2 games worth mention to became officialy a dead system .... sooooo soon in this generation once more...

7) Nintendo DOESNT TRY new AAA ips at all so for people that dont like that much some or most of current Nintendo AAA 1st party titles having ZERO reasons to buy a Wii U while 3rd party missing also.

8) Nintendo 1st party games cost ALOT of $$ even after 2-3 years of their initial release. Thats epic fail

9) Nintendo in general focusing way more on Controllers and fancy/gimmicky stuff than hardware itself so they did with Wii U

10) The Wii U name sounds BAD ... Some people didnt even know Wii U was a new console

11) No consistency at all in software releases ... When you missing 3rd party titles thats what happens. Theres no consistency at all of what to play ... A strong , epic 2014 ... and an upsetting 2015...

12) Wii U tried to appeal to casuals ... once again ... it backfired

13) NX already announced that is coming ... making Wii U feel worse than it is as a future purchase

14) Its a secondary platform, called by ex-ceo himself .. and a secondary platform cant do much with hardcore/semihardcore gamers that is

Not one of their exclusives interested me and no third party support and the tablet controller and I hated the Wii....those are my reasons.

Then it's pretty obvious your not really a Nintendo fan, and shouldn't really reply to the thread.

What an idiotic response. So everyone should only reply to your recycled thread if they agree with you?

Well to me the Hardware isn't that weak, the graphics are superbe, very colorful, you can tell the different texture of everything and Nintendo games are very solid, never drops in frame rate, many are at 60fps and in 1080 ... Sony and Microsoft can't even do that and their consol doesn't have to stream to a second screen ...

are you implying the Wii U is more powerful? lol

Games look good for the most part but come on now you have to consider the game design...tons of PS4 games are 1080 60 that the WII U couldn't dream of running properly (Diablo 3)

@dino7c: No but at least they know the bounderies of the system and bring out the best out of it. Many developper ( even from Sony studios ) put out beautiful games but can hardly have a consistant frame rate ... just like BloodBorne and Until Dawn. Beautiful to look at and all but there is a lot of frame rate issue. Something that I never encountered on the WiiU.

Diablo III was also released on the PS3 and it doesn't run as smooth ... same with all the remaster that came out on the PS4

Nintendo 1st party does do the smart thing and go for the smoothest possible framerate. They deserve credit for that from the development side. However it really has nothing to do with the hardware, and most Nintendo games are not that demanding on hardware anyway. 3rd party games on Wii-U tended to suffer from the same issues as other consoles (if not worse than PS3/360 versions - let alone PS4/XB1).

The Wii U isn't terrible, it just caught onto 7th gen when 8th gen came out. Honestly, the graphics are better than PS3 and 360, but the games offered on it are darn near shovelware. It's literally the only console that doesn't get the yearly activision games, it doesn't get support from Ubisoft (even with AC being a tired franchise), and that says a load. Nintendo needs to start expanding it's vision of what gamers want. Gamers want good first party and 3rd party support, they shouldn't have to migrate to another console and get third party and that's the main problem.

When you also take into account the Wii U gamepad...it sucks for some games (FPS) and feels very awkward although it's great for platforming...you know, if Nintendo actually had more platforming games.
