$400? r u kiddin me with a $500 sku out! the avg person wont pay that for lets say 3games? little big planet(if they like that kind of game) i like it but a lot of people probably wouldnt Metal Gear 4(AMAZING) but not enough 2 spend $400 and resistance 2 which wasnt as good as the 1st if u owned the 1st 1 and played it like i did, so that's y it's not selling well! but with the addition of Netflix, and better online features people are more drawn to the 360 and the wii also they are both drastically cheaper than the ps3

please don't post unless you know the facts and the truth about the economy in the USA.The PS3 costs $200 more than a console providing access to 95% of the same games, with the same (or better) graphics, and generally superior online play. A better question would be "why is it selling at all?".
main reason is PRICE. Sony needs to SHOW people why its more expensive. let people know that it has a built in HDD, bluray, and wireless adapter.bizzy420
I don't suppose you've considered the possibility that the general consumer already knows? People aren't idiots - they're bombarded with ads showing off Blu-Ray, showing off the PS3, etc. I've seen a thousand upon a thousand magazine ads, cost breakdowns, Blu-Ray / PS3 displays, in-store ads, sales reps, and "True HD" commercials.

Most of America, as well as the rest of the world, already knows. - The scary, dead-honest truth? They don't care. Sony guessed wrong - the majority people aren't willing to pay more for a console simply because of a few extra features. The market has spoken with their wallets. With stand-alone Blu-Ray players falling below $200, the PS3's "valuable features" are looking more-and-more like the liability they've been since launch. Hell, the Wii is the top-selling console by a furlong this generation - "True HD" or other such nonsense clearly isn't the key selling point to hit.
