What people don't really see is that the PC does have the best amount of games out of all platforms. The thing though is that PC is known to not really be in a System Wars.

Why? It doesn't play like any console nor does it sell like any console. Wii has been put in the same category because it isn't like a console.

Really the wars is 360 vs PS3 and which game is exclusive to those platforms. At least that is how I will about SW now.

I agree, I normally get the games that are 360/PC on the PC; however I may need to start getting the 360 games until I can upgrade my computer (waiting for the dual cores to go down in price more)

It may be a "Micorsoft Exclusive" but that doesn't mean it can be counted as a 360 Exclusive anymore, because it is on the PC. The PC isn't owned by MS, they may have the OS market locked up but they don't get any money from the sale of the game.

Just to play devil's advocate here. A "console exclusive" is obviously not as important as a full exclusive in the race, yes. However, there is a measure of importance for those games in the race, at least in my opinion. Why? Because it's a differentiation, in the same vein that a superior version of a multiplat helps the race.

This is because not everyone is both a PC and console player. Not everyone who plays with consoles is also an avid PC gamer, and I'd gather these people are a notable percentage of the gamer population. To these people, a "console exclusive" matters, as "best console versions" matter. It's not as important as a full exclusive (because a full exclusive matters to this segment and the PC/console gamer segment), but it's still "important".

Of course, under the definition you put of what this forum is all about, you pretty much kill this argument... and any discussion whatsoever of multiplats. So Madden shouldn't be discussed, or F.E.A.R., or Oblivion, or Haze, or UTIII or any others in a long list of games that have fueled the wars in this place, and degrades the point of even comparing consoles -since you're bluntly barring undebatable advantages of one console over the other.

Nope, you have missed the point.

It's not that PS3 owners NEED to buy a PC to play Xbox 360 games, but that option is available. It is the same for Wii owners. They can buy a PC and play Xbox 360 games without buying an Xbox 360.

That option however, is not available in reverse. Xbox 360 owners could spend a million dollars building the most powerful PC ever made, but they will never be able to play Wii or PS3 titles on it.

Therefore, each time an Xbox title hits the PC (Halo, Halo 2, KOTOR, KOTOR 2, Fable, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Gears of War) etc... Xbox players are "owned".

Pc graphics will looks better, more customisability, mods, any control system you want, and the pc can do countless more things than a 360, thats why it costs more.

Its the other way around, Microsoft needs more PC Titles to keep its OS alive ... Gaming is a good portion of Windows success, if that dwindles then MAC will eventually take over, seeing as they are all-ready better for work/Design industries...

The OS depends on the PC Gaming, while the Xbox franchise can just die-out with no significant loss, the Windows Gaming cannot, hence why we are seeing accelerated ammounts of Console franchise coming to the Pc (and vice-versa) to reinforce its dominance on gaming.

True, but it's particularly annoying if cows employ this tactic when any other day of the week they bag on the PC along with everything else. It's convenient, all because they feel the PS3 hasn't afforded them the bragging rights they've come to expect by now.

I'll have to say casuals don't upgrade pc's to play pc games. PC gamers are hardcore gamers. Casuals make up most of the market and if a game is on the 360 but not the ps3 or wii then i consider it exclusive. Casuals will see the games for 360 but not for ps3 and wii when they go into a game store like gamestop. They won't even look at the PC game section cause most won't use their pc for gaming. Thats why there are consoles. sirk1264

PC Gaming market is huge, while the Next-gen console amrket is moving slowly (Except the Wii), Gamestop is one bad example, most other gaming store's PC sections are much larger than the console sections, in some cases like:

Well thing is casuals wont spend money to upgrade their pc's. Like someone said earlier they aren't educated in pc gaming. They mostly only know about consoles. When they see games on the xbox 360 that aren't on the ps3 and wii what do you think is going to happen. I know the PC market is big never said it was tiny but the hiding behind pc thing is garbage when considering casuals that will mostly buy consoles to play their games and not upgrade their pc's.

I still think "Console exclusive" is a valid point simply because for the people who simply cannot afford to keep up with the blistering speed of PC gaming, a console is their only choice. Hence games being on one of those 3 consoles do matter in the grand scheme of making your choice to purchase one of the three.

games don't need to be played as soon as they come out. the pc has more than enough exclusives to stand on its own.
