I nver see ME is a bad game, it's just that it flopped and ME 2 can also flop. ND had all the time in the world to polish UC2 while Bioware is wworking on many many projects at a time so ME 2 flopping isn't that much of a stretch.

didnt ME sell like 2 million on 360 alone? then prolly another 1-2 mill PC

Apparently you don't know anything about game development then, Bioware is split up into teams, one is working DA:O another on ME2 etc. etc. and since you don't view it as bad game, why do you think it will flop then?, the first one was nothing close to a flop at all, nor was Uncharted 1, both sold millions of copies, both won numerous amounts of awards, and both has a good metacritic rating, the only reason a very small amount of people says it flopped is because they are incarnated fanboys of another system who hate the game simply for being exclusive.

Any game can flop, just as long at they fix the Mako's turret,I just hate the way you can't aim up or down :P, I am sure it will do great.

One thing (of the many) that TC gets wrong is that Mass Effect is aniche title, and how he goes on to say that there is a chance that Mass Effect 2 mayhave lessquality than Mass Effect 1 without anything to back it up.

There's absolute no way it will flop, even if it doesn't end up being half the game first one was.

Reasons why it will be a flop and ME3 will never happen:

1. EA is the publisher and many people still hate EA. Given their current practices, they force devs to rush their games leading to mediocre games like LOTR: Conquest.

2. The recession. People are buying games that are well-known only right now and the publishers know this. Mass Effect isn't a well established IP, next year it might even get lost in all of the great upcoming titles just like many games in 2008

3. Bioware is spread too thin. With Dragon Age origins, SW: TOR, Mass Effect DLC, chacnes are Bioware will not have put as much effort into ME2 as they would have liked. Not enough manpower. Making ME2's quality to be less and thereofre get less sales.

4. Mass Effect doesn't have a huge fanbase. It's a very niche title and those fans expect greatness from ME2, but chances are it will be of less quality than ME1 which is why it will flop. This will lead to a smaller fanbase, less sales and the ME franchise will be abandoned.

Don't agree on that analogy mate and here is why:

1. EA is not what is use to be, it's true- they were going down-hill with many crappy game releases and quality title declined in past, however that changed few years ago. Dead Space, Burnout are great titles for example.

2. Mass Effect is a very well known new I.P. In fact it's one of the titles I wish I could play on my PS3 and I'm considering Xbox 360 this Christmas to experience both titles. I only had chance to play the original title at my friends house - fantastic game. It's true that next year is crowded with power-titles but rest assured- there is more then enough room for ME2.

3. KOTOR is quite far away, I'd be very, very surprised to see it in 2010, Dragon Age already came out - superb game. There is more then enough people to support all of their games, Bioware is not one company anymore, not to mention - they have grown quite a bit. This allows for extra man-power to make more quality games.

4. Speaking of quality, all Bioware games since Baldur's Gate II to Dragon Age: Origins are phenomenal quality games, I have no fear ME2 will follow the quality Bioware is known for.

If anything Mass Effect fan base is going to grow and it should. ;)

The Mako turret is fixed in the PC and Platinum Hits version. I have the Platinum Hits version and can aim up and down whenever.

I assume by now that your baseless and factually unsupported arguments have been highlighted as such. So I'll just redirect attention to a much more important matter; that of the fearsome catduck. Or if it's a duckcat. The world may never know before it devours us all.

It can see into your soul. It both likes and dislikes water. It can fly and always land on its feet. How do we attack that which is unattackable? Pray we come up with an answer before it's too late. In the meantime we can only hope it realizes that it is the ultimate paradox and scares itself away.

8.5 is still a very reasonable score. plus we all know gamespot is a little generus with some titles and not so with others. To declare a games flop before release is to take away all your credability. Hell i played games that recieved 7.5 and found them better than thte 9.5 streak. the only way a gmae can truly flop is to score 6.5 or lower. anything higher should be called a success. thte review sites and magazines have a tenency to overt rate games no matter how bad they really are, that is fact.
