The last PC hyped exclusive was half life 2 and that was ages ago.
Why do we never see threads hyping PC exclusives?
@calvincfb: OK let me try again.
Would you hype anything after seeing what's happened with Star Citizen?
Better?
I remember a long line for Diablo 3 when it was exclusive and Starcraft 2 for people who wanted boxed copies, your an idiot

Wasn't there hype threads for Total War: Warhammer 1 & 2 and Divinity Original Sin 2?

Which reminds me, someone should make a hype thread for Battletech its coming out on the 23rd.

Its funny he says that nobody hypes for PC exclusives, we obviously get hyped but we don't have time to post because we are to busy playing the exclusives we have. Also we get definitive version of the cross platform games on the market. I am super excited for Battletech.
Imo there were PC exclusives hype before. Diablo 3 sold soloely on hype for example as PC exclusive, in fact made record sales. Other hyped PC exclusive games at the time were Path of Exile, Starcraft 2, League of Legends, Dota 2 and more.
And by hype i dont mean critic scores but gamers hype.
because there are too many exclusives, and so many great ones.
also, how is an indie developer going to advertise like CoD, Mass Effect, and so forth? Gotta tell people to hype your game for them to get hyped for it.
More importantly, we PC gamers are an elite society of mature adults with high standards. We don't debase ourselves by "hyping" so-called AAA games that don't warrant it.
1. PC games don't run off of hype and mass marketing, for the most part. It's more about word of mouth, high retention, and actually being good (Hence destroying consoles at MC and GS on an endless yearly basis.)
2. Huh? CiV, Total War, Divinity, XCOM2, etc. were hyped.
3. As mentioned in number #1, hype means little for PC. The most played games on the planet are a huge list of PC exclusives (LoL, Dota2, Legion,Hearthstone) or PC version of multiplats that were primarily built with PC in mind (CS, Overwatch, PubG, Fortnite). Some Single PC Exclusives alone have more users than XBL or PSN entirely. Hype doesn't matter with those kind of numbers.
Blizzard games get hyped to ridiculous levels. It makes some of the console game hype look tame by comparison. Diablo 3 wasn't even good, but still broke sales records due to the hype.
PC users have no need to brag or compete. There is no competition for the PC so we don’t hype shit. We just play it and move on knowing we have it good.

This. PC is the undisputed best gaming platform. There is no need to hype soemthing that's already known to be the best.
Because PC demographic is not comprised of (12 year old) fanboys who feel the need to validate their (weak) system by hyping (extremely) overrated (movie) games, because the PC has a (huge) abundance of games and not as (severely) limited as consoles, (or simply put: cows and lems hype their games because they don't have that many), does that answer your (obviously loaded) question OP?
PC has so many great games from so many years of gaming that there is no need to hype anything. The PC library is dozens of times larger than the competition. It would be like an adult hyping up how much stronger he is than a newborn. No need.
@calvincfb:
You're wrong my friend, the last game hermits hyped was Kingdom Come Deliverance because they thought it was PC exclusive.
Then the hype died a bit when they found that it was multiplat on consoles.
Then they went silent when the game released with no showers of praise because it was a mediocre title and nothing special.
Kingdom Come Deliverance
with only 56 critics reviews...and hermits were hyping this as the next coming lol

That said:
Generally the reason why PC fans don't hype PC exclusives isn't because they, "get so many amazing games" it's because most of their exclusives are low budget basement projects of 2d indies or some shabby attempt at AAA titles that are unfinished, full of glitches and defects and far below console exclusive quality.
When hermits hype games 98% of the time it bites them in the ass or the games just aren't worth talking about.
Even when Hermits hype exclusive PC games that do end up being good like Divinity Original Sin II or Xcom II....They end up multiplats on consoles shortly after.
lol and I think hermits are slowly beginning to realize that when Star Citizen does finaly release, it's also going to be a multiplat on consoles.
They were hyping Star Citizen as if it was ever going to come out.
They want so bad to have a graphically superior cinematic gameplay experience to call there own.
Will be funny when it releases on consoles, PS5 will be better than most current hermits rigs beta testing the game now.
Might be because PC gamers generally aren't 15 year olds who get off on trash talking other brands with how much better they are because they have this game or that game. They tend to spend their time discussing the games within their own community I find.
There's little doubt the average age of PC gamers is much higher than console gamers, and that maturity around here is very clear to see.

And 4. There are so many PC exclusive games and hyping them each and every one of them would be problematic.

For someone who calls themselves a Hermit when exactly was the last PC game you made a hype thread for???
For someone who calls themselves a Hermit when exactly was the last PC game you made a hype thread for???
Depends on what PC game I'm looking for. Some of them are not common knowledge to the average gamer let alone console gamers. Is there a PC exclusive game you like to see a hype thread?

Sad thing is, the only thing a hype thread achieves is those who don't like that particular system attempting to explain why it sucks. They achieve absolutely nothing.

There's nothing past tense about Star Citizen or Squadron 42, nor has it stopped growing having recently passed 2 million backers and over $183 million in funding. It now has the second highest development budget of any game, behind Star Wars the Old Republic (another PC exclusive).
