[QUOTE="Santesyu"]No cross chat= not better. Id much rather have 4 games a month then the ability to talk to ppl when Im busy playing a sp game. If I really wanna talk ill call them or start a xmb chat. OR I could start a text chat room or just message them. Im I the only one on system wars who texts ppl on my cell more then callhttp://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/06/24/why-playstation-plus-is-better-than-xbox-live/

Meh. I really don't like paying for any service. The only thing I really want is online play and PS3 has that for free anyways.
[QUOTE="Santesyu"]No cross chat= not better. whats so special about cross game chat? Anyway I hear the PS brand is gonna pick that up soon.http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/06/24/why-playstation-plus-is-better-than-xbox-live/

They start out buy giving a lbp download as a bonus for subscribing then allow the user to select there monthly games from a list.so are those 4 games a month free for ANY games of YOUR choosing (1 PSN game, 2 minis, and 1 PS one game) or do they choose the games?
if it's my choosing i might just drop the yearly fee just for that, lol

Cross game chat is severely over hyped. "Woohoo! Look at me! I can chat with people playing a different game! Woohoo!" Big deal. Why would you want to chat with people playing a different game anyway?

eh, i'll see what the starting list is then (already have LBP so that's meh for now) but if they ever start adding some good titles to the list then i'll drop the yearly fee on it
but yea, so far the only thing i'm interested in is the 4 free games and the 20-50% discounts
the 360 is my main console so i'd never really use any of that other stuff, most of which XBL already has anyways
article is stupid.... nobody is gonna switch from xbox live, because for the same price PSN+ offers some small perks.. if the prospect of free online gaming wasnt enough to get live subscribers to switch to PSN... a couple bonuses sure as hell wont do it.

The only reason you're saying that is because you don't even own a 360 so you have no experience with it. To me, parties are basically the blood and heart to the whole online experience, it keeps all of my friends together expecially when we don't have room for everyone in a game thanks to the 8 player total. If PSN got parties, I would absolutely adore PSN more than I do now and respect it more.Party chat is far from over hyped. That is unless you're the loner type. Being able to chat with a group of people with similar interests as you while playing a good ass game should be a welcome addition to all social gamers.i5750at4GhzYea, I'm starting to think Cows should be renamed Hermits on a count of all of the single-player games. I can't imagine how hard it is to play and talk to friends on something like MAG.

Its the single best feature on XBL. Whenever one of my friends comes online were straight into party chat. We use it to organise stuff like when were going out because in reality theres nothing else that offer real time talk with this much ease with the added bonus of playing a game also. Yeah if your a loner then party chat might be crappy othwerise it's simply amazing.

Yep, 99% of the time the first thing I see after signing in is a notification such as, "xxxxxxxx wants you to join a party". It is a feature that I do take for granted, I can't even remember what LIVE was like before it.

I personally do think PSN+ is better, but that article was a bit strange. PSN Plus exists solely to convince people who play online through PSN already to sign up for free games and exclusive content. Xbox Live Gold has nothing to do with it.

I can't imagine how hard it is to play and talk to friends on something like MAG. Your party goes in as a squad of 8, not to hard at all to communicate actually. Also I wonder how hard it is for someone on the 360 to communicate to 7 other people that are in a private chat session? Party chat is a game killer and a community killer.
There's no guarantee that they'll come through on what they promise. Qore has been a failure. Early beta access was promised, but the only early beta was ModNation Racers. As time went on, the quality of each show went down and down. Potential wise, sure PSN Plus sounds like it'll destroy Xbox Live. However, what if the free games you get are nothing worth getting? They haven't released their future lineup, so how do you know 3 extra months (NA) or LBP (EU) isn't just a ploy the get people to subscribe? They didn't come through on Qore so there's no reason to believe they would come through on this. Either way, someone loses, whether it be the free members or the Plus members. Sony hasn't done much with PSN as it is and yet they say they'll make sure both free members and Plus members get the best experience possible.BoricuaRobThrough Qore, I've had Socom beta, MAG beta, Mod Nation racers beta, Uncharted 2 beta, BC2 beta. And then I've had free psn games and themes. I mean really there is only so many games that come out and then only so many that even do a beta lol. Only thing wrong with Qore is it should just be streamed to your ps3 and not have to be downloaded.

Because nothing beats talking to my friends like we are in the same room having a party while we are playing different games in different locations, sometimes states away.
its seems like PSN plus has the better value. MS adds crap to make it look like LIVE is worth $50 yr but I feel it isnt. Stuff like FB, twtter, etc, you get elsewhere for free or better used on a PC. Same for the upcoming ESPN as well. Party chat was cool when I did have LIVE, I must admit, but no, its not worth $50. PSN continues to allow one to play online for Free too. Anyway, PSN plus > LIVE in terms of value. FuhgeddaboudittYou get deals on everything on xbox live even netflix. You have access to betas and unreleased demos.Really the only thing that helps psn plus be compared to live is the 4 free games that's all.

If anything, PSN Plus just accentuates the notion that Sony still doesn't "get" what makes XBL so appealing. It looks like they're trying to make up in content delivery what they really lack in community.
They still don't have active and vocal community managers that are more about community than they are about being PR mouthpieces. They still don't have community-based events that are easy to find. They still don't have a party system and cross-game invite system that are built from the OS level and are consistent through ALL games.
On top of that, MS is ahead of the game in addressing family-centric issues with the PlaySmart program and their proactive stance with cultural issues that can impact XBL users.
So yeah, content-wise, PSN Plus is definitely a step up. In terms of community, they really haven't made any headway.

The overhyping is merely based on the fact that it's the only distinguishing feature between the 50$ a year XBL and the free PSN. That's why lemmings go all holy grail on it.

It's a farcry from a rental service. It's not like OnLive, where you have to pay a monthly subscription AND an access fee for each game. And something like netflix or gamefly, you pay a monthly fee to get rentals, but you can only have a certain number out at a time, depending on how much you pay. $120 a year gives you access to one game. You can change that one game as many times as you want, but you can only have one at a time. With psn+, you get *at least* 4 games a month (on top of all the other stuff you get that you get to keep). At the end of your 15 months for $50, you've gotten access to more than 60 games, for no other cost than the 50 subscription. As long as you keep your subscription, you can continue to access every one of those, plusanother 4 or more new ones each month. If you ever quit, and rejoin, you get access back to all the ones you had, plus new ones every month.Really though, that's just one feature. I look at that as icing on the cake. Completely free. The $50 a year is for all the free content that you get to keep, and the discount. A 20-50% discount on everything in the store is easily worth $50 a year, if you regularly purchase content from the store.
