Agreed. This game needs Snake. I don't care if it's Boss Snake, I like him too. But it wouldn't be a PlayStation Party Fighter without Snake. He is 3rd party but still is an iconic character for the PlayStation brand.

PlayStation has the strongest set of characters than any other companies. Deal with it.

Not sure how many people here have actually played PSASBR, but being one who has (Private Beta), I have some reservations but generally it feels solid. My current hype is AA, 8.0, since some of the music, characters, and stages don't quite inspire the some nostalgia that SSB does and the overall frenzy seems a bit tame sometimes (this may be because of the music, item drops not quite being as interesting or useful as I had hoped they'd be, or that I'm a shameless nitpicker).

Otherwise, the gameplay is solid and the cast is fantastic (the idea of supers takes take a bit of getting used to and it does drive the gameplay decisions players make. Some may like it, others won't, but it doesn't mean that it's a poor design model).

One concern I have is how many characters becomes too many? And online matchmaking at the time was a bit slow to arrange games, but once a game was set up there was no noticeable lag in my experiences.

Do you have any links to evidence supporting the rumors? I've looked but have only found threads and anonymous source claims.

Actually, I take that back: I did see two screenshot leaks for Kat (Gravity Rush) and Crash Bandicoot, but I've seen nothing on the others. And 40 is a MOTHERLOAD of characters, but I would excuse it as long as there were an Assassin character, Spyro, and some sort of FF representation.

I have played it at PAX this year and I can confirm it's garbage. There is nothing wrong with the core idea of making a smash bros. style brawler with PS characters; in fact I love the idea. The dreadful irony is that the game is terrible precisely because it doesn't want to be a Smash clone. If it just manned up and copied the best party fighter out there, we'd have a new fantastic party fighter coming up.

The current KO system being based around soley charging up attacks is lame as it gives no real incentive to doge attacks. Sure getting hit can charge an oppenents meter, but it would if he hit someone else anyways. So in the gameplay, it makes no difference weather you get hit or some other oponent gets hit in a free for all. This encourages everyone to just rush at each other with no defensive strategy. I really hope they switch it to a Smash Bros. style weight/ring out system as that works fantastically.

The game will be good not great.

Legit concern, and I partially agree. I do think the idea of the "ring-out" does detract from each bout since only other players can cause your downfall while in SSB if you aren't careful about how you manuever you could end up screwing yourself by falling off the stage.

I don't entirely agree about the clusterfights that occur, because the key to getting mana or charge or whatever the hell it's called is attack strings. Stringing successful strikes is what boosts your meter and if it gets disrupted, you don't gather enough super charge to really lay waste to your opponents. It's a risk/reward that I think works well. You simply have to understand each character's moveset and if you don't, then yeah, you might as well end up just rushing the area where all the brawling is going on. I'm sure at this point most people who've played have no clue whatsup with character movesets. Same kind of idea with people who play fighters and button mash to win.

This is a twitter response from Activision that was taken down not long after it was posted. It generally exudes that Crash is likely a character, plus there is this image (below) reportedly snapped showing Crash in the game. Possibly fake, but it's enough smoke to suggest he's in it rather than saying Cloud or an AC character is present. I believe most of those hopes stem from the "Michael" ad Sony ran last year.

I can hardly wait to play a 4-way match between Evil Cole, Good Cole, a car from GT5, and the sack boy wearing the blue hat....

Give this game a chance people. You might be pleasently surprised. Also the combat is NOT like Smash Bros, people are in for a shock. It's pretty complex actually.

Yes you caught me. I am crying over this thread. I cry just as much as you do over you watching the PS3 get better and better games while all you get stuck with is another Halo and Gears again.

I am just excited about this game and wish to share it with other people and discuss it. I do not care if people buy it or not. I personally am going to wait for reviews just to be safe, as I like SP and this game might not have a good one. But from what I played in the private beta it was a good solid game.

People that are going to buy it are going to buy it, people who are not will not. That's just how it goes. What would be the point of convincing people? I don't get a paycheck from Sony, unlike you who get's a paycheck from MS for loving that Kinect and defending it's crap 1st party line up.

Too bad they are just going to out source your job to India soon....

But seriously Black Ops 2 looks really good. It takes place in 2 different time periods, will have expanded zombie mode with 8 players on large maps, and is making several new changes to the series.

But seriously Black Ops 2 looks really good. It takes place in 2 different time periods, will have expanded zombie mode with 8 players on large maps, and is making several new changes to the series.
