I am big fan of the PS3 exclusives, but this one just seem very meh to me. The character rooster seems to be alright, not great, to me. I feel it could be much stronger. But thats not what concerns me, the gameplay so far to me don't feel all the great.

Game mechanics of that game are awful.

I agree, with most of your points, this game looks to be of high quality, I have played the beta, and I am mostly satisfied with the roster, though I think the lack of Crash is disheartening, but having played the beta, I am still not sold of point system, I wish you could KO without the use of a special, but I will be buying this game. Do I think it will be better than Smash, no, but I at the moment prefer the point system in Smash, but I completely agree, if anything Sheep should be happy Smash inspired what could be a great game, and it will be a great game to enjoy during the wait for the next smash.layton2012

It is ironic.. but..... the Character in Smash freaking suck.. like almost all of them are bad... and boring and not really interesting...... however the mechanics of that game are superb..... This game though it still has some bad characters seem to have a better roster than Smash bro's by a long shot.. however the game mechanics are completely awful.. They really shouldn't have bothered making this game if they couldn't have come up with a better way to win a fight. If anything it would have been a health bar that regenerates 1/2 the damage you do to your opponent

Yes exactly. I can tell who has played it and who hasn't, people who haven't say it's a Smash Rip Off, which when you actually play it you find out it is not. It may be a party fighter but it plays very differently.

I disliked the KO system at first as well, but it's still fun regardless. In some ways I think this is better than Smash and others no. The online will be better than Smash I'm sure, so will the move set. But it will also be harder to pick up and play like Smash.

And do not count Crash out just yet, there was a leak of him earlier, but it may have been fake. But the devs got it removed fast so it may have been important. I wonder who keeps leaking this stuff out for this game lol.

Plus the next Smash is not due out for at least another 4-5 years according to Nintendo. It will be a LONG wait. They haven't even started to develop for it yet. Why not pass the time with this instead?

Still I would like to see more SP details for this game and some specials seem over powered. Also the roster is far from finished. 20 main charaters, plus 20 secret one's according to dev. That means 40 total characters. I just hope some Final Fantasy characters are in there. I want Cloud now! :P

It does have bad characters... most of them are bad... Donkey kong is good..... Mario is good... but why the hell is Peach there ? why is diddy kong there ? and why for god's sake does ganondorf have Capt' falcons Move set ? Most of the characters are bad and their move set is boring. Luigi and mario have the same move set... Marth and Ike are similar.. Fox falco and wolf have the same.. why is there a young link ? and some abilities are baddly thought off... like shiek's chain.. wth is that? why does mario have a water pump ? the characters are mostly bad...

Nariko was a dumb choice, but I do not see what was wrong with the others. They do need more female characters though, some FF ones like Tifa or Yuna would be great for this. Or Lightning even though FF13 was garbage.

My biggest issue is the lack of characters that were truly important to Sony like Lara Croft or indeed Tifa, but i have to admit that Sir Daniel was a step in the right direction, however characters like Cole, Nariko, Big Daddy or that lame, lame coloner Radec (seriously....who?) are kind of meh for me...and still no Crash?

I wish it was more like Super Smash Bros, as in you had to be knocked off the ledge. I remember watching an interview a few days ago and one of the developers was talking about it and said something like "In SSB your damage percentage could be 200% plus, but you could stay alive if you were good enough". With four players on screen I would think having to stay in on the map is a good way to stay alive instead of a health bar. When things get chaotic and you're being attacked by 2-3 different people you're going take damage. The difference between SSB and PSASBR is that in the former this unavoidable damage simply puts you at a disadvantage you can overcome. In the latter this unavoidable damage is going to directly cost you a life or the battle.

I'll still probably buy it though unless it really tanks.

when you grow up from high school, maybe you could find a reason why this game will appeal to certain group of gamers. This is a game that groups up a bunch of characters that they might enjoy for one. This game is a fighter that is similar to super smash brothers is another. Only crazy fanboys have vandetta out for this game.
