There's your answer.
[QUOTE="martyr2k6"]they are STILL having serious issues with their firmware/software updates. Why the hell would I want a system like this. when I have every other gaming system to spend my money on? What is the REAL benefit here?
I love my XBox 360
Xolver
Lol.
But I guess others got it before me...
You are mad at sony about hardware failures but you got a 360?Blackification
Guess it was only a matter of time before someone quoted what most would want to see me say rather than what I actually said all together...
[QUOTE="martyr2k6"][QUOTE="excelR83"]I smell flamebait.
I doubt you had any intent of basing a buying purchase on what System Wars has to say. It sounds more like a "prove me wrong" argument, and those never go anywhere. Buy one, don't buy one, what's one purchase? Good luck.

Again, someone else who is jumping to conclusions. What if I am one of those customers who are just REALLY indecisive and want to make sure that their hard earned money is going towards something that they will truly benefit from. If it weren't for people like yourself and the poster that you are agreeing with, perhaps I would feel a bit safer in knowing that I really have nothing to worry about because I would be getting a quality product with equal quality experience.
So please, for one moment, don't assume that you know me or my motives. Again, I can see where YOU as well could make those assumptions, but that is all they are. False pretenses. I am a perfect stranger to you, and you have no reason to judge me as the stereotypical deviant who gets off on other's feuds or grievances.
Alright if thats the game you want to play then here:
The Ps3 offers some of the finest hardware out this gen. Not only because it doesnt break down every so often like the 360(which Im sure your on your 5th maybe 6th one) but also because it offers much more then just a gameing experience. with bluray being the format winner and as well as the power to download moive via Playstation Network its easy to see why the PS3 is something for the whole family to enjoy.
Now with that aside lets talk about the GAMES!!! obviouslly if you are interested in a PS3 you are a gamer looking for games to satisfy your craving. Well not only does the PS3 offer great hits like GTA4,CoD4, Assassians Creed, Orange Box and Bioshock, the PS3 also offers the criticlly aclaimed MGS4 exclusive to the PS3 and praised by sites like Gamespot and IGN alike. You might also enjoy some other popular exclusives like Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank as well as Motorstorm.
Now of course in this day and age gamers want online. While PSN is fresh and not as popular as live its a growing community ready to burst thanks to the upcoming HOME! PSN is also getting the exclusive Little Big Planet where players can create there own content and share it via online. Also recentlly announced trophies offer players the ability to show their skills much like live achivements on XBL, thus prooving to their friends they are number one!
The PS3 offers quality gameing and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy...
DID THAT WORK FOR YOU?
It almost did, and for a moment, I was thinking to myself "this guy should be a salesman" but after reading your whole comment, it in fact did NOT work for me, because you were still COMPARING it to the 360 directly... I don't really care about what people like you think, where you have to squeeze in an extra cheap shot here or there to better affirm your hatred of something. Now if you had approached it differently, perhaps told me about how easy it is to use, and what all opportunities it offers for me... hell maybe even told me something I didn't already know, then yeah, YOU YOURSELF, would have won me over, and I would be driving to work tomorrow on my day off to pick up the MGS4 edition (truly the best deal Sony has offered to date) and join the apparent legions of Sony gamers.
However... I leave you with only this bit of advice... what you did is the exact same thing Apple fans do to Windows users and vice versa... I ask you to tell me about the Mac, you tell me that it's better than Windows... I ask you what makes it so much better, you say that Microsft is an evil, money grubbing corporation hellbent on making people believe that they need anything and everything with their name on it. When all you really had to do, was show me how to use it and tell me what it does to simplify my experience.
At the end of the day it's about the games.
No one can make the decision but you.
Look at the libraries of confirmed exclusives and figure out which looks better to you.
Well, PS3s are pretty stable machines. That, and there are exclusives that I think are well worth the price of admission.gamefreakomega
A very good post, thank you for your time, and it's comments like this that make me feel there is hope out there for the universe of gamers.
[QUOTE="martyr2k6"]And people said that I was trying to prove people wrong and argue about things, and that I wouldn't even get the console regardless of my decision LMAO

...well you did avoide my comment. Proving you arent interested in the positives of what we have to say but rather, your just out to flame
Nope, still not out to flame... and tell me this, how can I be avoiding your comment, when every time I reply or quote something someone said, there are easily 5-10 posts while I am writing that. It's only a matter of time before I reply, so do be patient. And also, I do appreciate your input, but whenever it crosses over from advice to blatant bashing of one thing or another, it tends to get... "overlooked"

Now Now, I never punched MS in the GUT and called them evil, When talking about the PS3 you have to compare it to its competiter. I tried not to say anything negitive, aside from hardware and if I were a salesman you would state that. I just glorafied the PS3 in a positive manner. I dont know what your intentions are but my only advise(from a peers pov) if you are interested in the PS3 and some of its games, then why not. if you arent, then whatever its your money
[QUOTE="L1qu1dSword"]Saying 360 has better games is a matter of opinion( although lets face it most agree it does), however, what I said about the hardware is a fact.
sparkypants
A persons taste in gameing is a matter of opinion. I could just as easly say the 360 has a weak library but that is my opinion alone.
Your right though, the 360 is substancially weaker then the PS3 in terms of hardware(and the TC is a hypicrit for saying sony has faulty hardware yet he supports the 360).articles of RROD are all over the internet, and forum pages about this have been spawned all over then net, to the point were I shouldnt need a link. As for a cheaper blu-ray player...got a link? Your making random claims without anyback up...
Hmmm....cheaper blu ray player... doesn't exist does it? Now where would I find proof of one's existance... let's see, the cheapest PS3 is about, oh say $399 for the 40 gig model... and where do I work? Best Buy? oh yeah, so I might have a retort like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8777344&type=product&id=1204332499513

You can get a blu-ray drive as cheap as 120$ right now.
299$ is good for a stand alone though.
Personally I would just throw a drive in my htpc if I really wanted one.
From reading some post you stated you do infact want it but don't trust Sony. The failure rate of a PS3 is in the range of an average failure rate for a system like the Wii. If anything you can cough up some extra cash for an extended warranty. The PS3 is also getting some great exclusive like LBP, Resistance 2, and hopefully Killzone 2 (if it doesn't flop) You said that you wouldn't hope to get flamed for saying something to praise the 360 while online on the PSN. Honestly most people wouldn't care about that but of course there is always a knucklehead online. If everything goes bad just press the Mute button on the bluetooth headset. Plain and simple. I hope this gave you some insight on the PS3 because I actually tried lol:PDanteSuikoden
FINALLY!!!!!!!!! Jesus, you other guys, was it really that hard? Granted, some of you were defending me, and others were actually offering some good advice, but this one took the cake... You saw through what others see as "flaming" and understood what I was trying to say. You COMPLETELY got everything that I was asking for and nailed it in one go. Yes you did try, and you succeeded where others didn't do so well. Not a bit of bias towards Sony nor any ill-will towards their competitors, TRULY you are a shining example of what a member of the gaming community should aspire to be.
GOD. Now that I have almost snapped completely with the majority of the other posters, is navigating the XMB (cross media bar) really that difficult? Because at first glimpse, it seems a bit cluttered and sometimes a bid disorganized... And as far as the online multiplayer features that PS3 offers... Do you experience connection drops often, or is there a fair bit of lag, or what? How does it perform? I have heard alot of my customers talk about how their wireless works great wherever they are, but in some cases, when even in the same room as the wireless router, the signal isn't as stable as it could or should be?
Can you further help me out here? :D

Amen on that one, hell we sell the HP Pavillion DV5 series laptops which all come with blu ray, and even the $899 retail ($749 in the forseeable future on sale) the DV5-1003nr is a nice addition to anyone wanting a powerful laptop to play most games, and watch blu ray movies on the go :D

Lol while I don't own a PS3 I played it at my friends house fairly often. The XMB is not that hard at all really, at first it takes sometime but after around 4 or 5 times on the PS3 you kind of get the feel to where most of the options are like hdd settings or bluetooth settings. Now with the online it depends on your own connection. My friend has Optimum so the play doesn't really lag that much but of all the times I played Resistance it lagged to the extent of pissing me off about 3 times >_>"
