great looking games just not as much as Uncharted.... i dont understand why its hard for non PS3 owners to admit uncharted is the best looking game on consoles...

Uncharted? I'm not sure. Those offscreen shots sure look much better than what I see on my 57" 1080p tv. It's great looking, to be sure, but going so far as calling it the king?

It's too bad that's not in-game, nice try though. Assassins Creed looks great but it doesn't have much variety, if you've seen one of the cities you've seen them all, albiet a few extra buildings thrown in, everything in the game is either white or light-brown with hints of green here and there.

You really need to play the game. All the cities have their own flavor, and are rather different.

Why even compare Gears?

UT3 looks better and it's multiplat

Technically GTA4 is the most impressive

Visually it's between MGS4, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed and R&C IMO

uncharted looks alright, but ut3 looks way better

No it doesn't, it just has plenty of bump mapped textures.

Bump mapping =/= Good texturing.

If used appropriately, they certainly can look good, but in the case of PDZ, well, they weren't used appropriately.

But i prefer the look of this game

It's a toss up between Gears and Uncharted if you ask me. Uncharted is certainly more colourful, but Gears is more detailed and nails the whole "gritty" thing pretty well.

And I don't understand why PS3 owners find it hard to admit that Uncharted's graphics has tight competitors? I've seen both Uncharted and GeoW. For Uncharted, I like the water graphics. For GeoW, the overall presentation.

That and the animations are what makes Uncharted so impressive. It one thing to have great graphics, but when you have the animations to match it.. BEAUTIFUL

I guess you never played Kameo, this shot may not be from ingame but it's ingame graphics, Rare probably made this shot just to show the location so they took out your character all the creatures, animals and hud but that's exactly how the game looks plus all the stuff i lready mentioned.

Only gamers who don't know, will look a static picks of buildings or characters that have Nothing going on in the image sorta like this:

Without out considering all that is going on within the sceen of Gears that I posted.

FYI - Learn to distinguish the differences between pretty pics and game-play picks with muzzle flash & lighting + texture, and game-play elements All going on within the shot.
