Im having fun in Multiplayer i havent tried campaign or spec Ops and may never do so.
Only complaint spawning is still an issue tho it is a COD game and they do spawning in a way that games like Quake Wars do not as in no SET places to spwn for a certain team so i dunno how they could make it better. Great game and very fun but the mentality behind boosters confounds.
nah, not really. The single player was great fun and had better pacing in some ways to cod4 but cod4 felt a bit more fresh and the story was far more consistent than in mw2. Although ending of MW2 beats cod4's hands down. Spec ops is amazing, nothing else to say about that.
Multiplayer is great fun but i have a couple of issues. Mainly, lag (mostly my internet connection), noob tubes and a minor gripe with how much more quicker you and others die, it seems like it takes less shots to kill someone.
Other than that they fixed most of the problems with cod4, respawning in the campaign, no 3x frag perk, martyrdom is a nerfed death streak thats almost useless and hardly ever occurs, its actually INSANELY EASY to shoot down air support unlike in cod4 with rpgs against choppers. The respawning system seems worse though, i actually thought the respawning system in cod4 was pretty decent. The perks in MW2 are far more balanced, i dont care what anyone says.
Seriously if you are going to say 3x frag, martyrdom, 2x rpg, 2x claymore, juggernaut over the perks in MW2, i don't know what you're smoking.
I wouldn't give it game of the year though, they would've had to go another mile to get that.
I wasn't disappointed by MW2, I found MW1 boring after a month and seeing as MW2 was the same exact garbage as the first, I had no hype. Oh and don't even get me started on the glitches, MW2 was buggier than even this game. Besides there were already games out that were much better than MW2. The BFBC2 beta with it's single map was decades ahead in terms of fun and value;ironically it was also less buggier.
Well it has the best online out of any game right now IMO ... And Spec Ops Is just awsum.... It improves upon every aspect of COD4The game still isn't revolutionary, and it's definetly does not have the best online for a game. All it really improves about from COD4 is just more weapons, perks, weapon attachments, cheatful killstreaks, and a dull co-op mode. Coming from a fan of COD4. What game has a better online than MW2 ??[QUOTE="KzJoe"][QUOTE="Eggimannd"]
Not sure if that's sarcasm but if not there's absolutely nothing revolutionary about MW2.

Team Fortress 2, Killzone 2, Halo 3, CoD4, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Uncharted 2, Resistance 1&2, and Counterstrike: Source to name a few shooters. That doesn't even count all the non-shooter games that are light-years better than MW2's online mode.

Now you get Claymores/RPG's/Grenade Launchers WITHOUT using up a perk (In fact, you can have ALL THREE AT ONCE, ZOMG!!!!!), You get no counter to the godly Stopping Power (Juggernaught), and you get (Infinite)x Semtex so long as you have Scavenger equipped.
At least with all the Perks mentioned from CoD4 (aside from Juggernaught), you HAD to die in order to get them back, which would hamper your KDR is you relied on them too much. Now, you get to frag, rocket, and/or explode the crap out of your enemies in various ways with no penalty at all.

Ok actually alot of those are arguably better, but you have to admit Modern Warfare 2's online is very very very very very good.[QUOTE="xYamatox"][QUOTE="KzJoe"] What game has a better online than MW2 ??KzJoe

Ok actually alot of those are arguably better, but you have to admit Modern Warfare 2's online is very very very very very good. Not with it's maps, killstreaks, or community. No one works as a team unless their friends (usually), and when I kill someone, they should lose their ability to use their AC130 or Chopper Gunner (if they activated it). It's a broken mess really.Noob tubes are still lame, claymores set around door ways are still cheap, but my biggest issues are the spawn system which often keeps putting one team in the same corner to be mowed down by campers. The killstreaks are the biggest problem though. Dying to a killstreaks on occasion is fine, but many matches it seems the majority of my deaths come from missles, air strikes, and of course chopper gunners and AC130's. In my opinion, the individual killstreak system should be replaced with by a team based one. Maybe once your team hits X number of kills, or as a team doesn't die for a time, the top player on the team gets to call in an airstrike or whatever. Having everyone with their own personal army of jets and hellicopters turns many matches into a sloppy chaotic mess. A shame since the actual shooting mechanics are very well tuned.WithoutGraceXII
The game was targeted at casuals... There is no need for anyone to try to play together and try to overcome dificulties trough teamwork... Its just "Hide in a corer and shoot anything that comes trough, then call jet and repeat till you get the nuke and win the game"
I was and am not disappointed with the game in any way, shape, or form. I believe all 3 modes of the game (single player, spec ops, and multiplayer) were well constructed and well worth it. Sure, it has flaws, but what game doesn't? Every game has issues with disbelief, realism, and balancing in multiplayer to a certain degree.
Campaign wise, yes. The story just tried to hard to top COD4.clubsammich91
this is pretty much how I feel about the game, the co-op and online are good IMO
I don't see why people say that MW2's campaign is the same as CoD4's...if that were the case, it wouldn't have been so laughably unrealistic that Michael Bay himself would have blanched. To call MW2's campaign the same as CoD4's is to do a disservice to the latter. CoD4 at least had a sense of realism, and some of its missions (namely the Chernobyl one) were absolutely breathtaking. MW2's campaign, however, features a Russian invasion of the United States that was somehowsparked by an airport shooting, South American filler missions, riot shields that can withstand assault rifle rounds, dual-wielding Uzis, and other 80's action flick tropes that have NO place in a game that's supposed to be a direct sequel to a CoD entry.
It is a generic military FPS with almost no single player campaign and it pushes no envelopes and brings absolutely nothing to the table.
I liked it. IT's one of hte best if not the best fps around. It also had a cool campaign. What were people expecting though? It's an fps. I don't see how people can be disapointed. They are all the same ultimately anyways. Were people expecting it to be a 3rd person shooter? For what it was it was about as good as it could be.
Probably the most unbalanced multiplayer I've ever played.
Noob tubes,Dual Shotguns;then you have Chopper Gunners,AC130's,Pave Low,Harrier Strike,Attack Helicopters....not to mention you can have about 2 of those killstreaks in the sky at one time,so the other team just gets spawn camped to death.Don't even get me started on the map design...
In short,MW2 is horrid filth, and it's sad how many people play it.But I guess they just like masochism.
I'm disappointed with it because of the rampant glitching. I played five games earlier today and in four of them, someone used the care package glitch. Keep in mind these were different lobbies because I left after each game fed up with the cheating. In the care package glitch free round, we had multiple people using the care package grenade speed glitch.
Does IW not have a QA team? Seriously...
