Heck, I don't even mind the original controller and its d-pad...thing for fighting games that much anymore as I've been just fine pulling off combos and whatnot in Super Street Fighter IV. But that's just me and I'm not too serious about fighting games in general.

Figured I should throw that in there...just in case. :P
You are only going get as much into the system, as your willing to put into it. While it does lack with the exculsive AAA titles which most seem to enjoy, it makes up for it with their digital catalog. Like normal, my opinion, but I've bought Deathsmiles II, Bangai O Spirits, and Strania. There are quite a few more coming out too.
Radiant Silvergun
Dust
Fez
Skulls of the Shogun

So far, all have been announced or confirmed exculsive to the 360 on the console side. I can give you several more reasons why it is worth for *me* to own the system. While many of the games you are excited, produce a dull yawn out of my mouth. That's the problem with saying worthwhile games.
Most of the other arguments don't hold much water. While 360 did have terrible hardware, it has been effectively brought down to normal standards. They still do also include the 3 year warrenty for RROD if it's not kosher enough.
On live, I bought my last Live time card for 25$. Most of the time you can get sales for 40$ or less. It's still paying for live, but it's far cheaper than what you are suggesting. Nor is it just for party chat. Many gamers have made a rut in live with friends and buddiies. It's a small cost to pay for continually playing with friends.
And if all else arguments fail. Bring on the glorious PC. :P
Hardware? Slim is great, less crashes than the PS3 slim Games? Still has all the important ones, get a PS3 on the side if you need exclusives but multiplats on 360 FTW Online? Secure, and always up, never gives away your personal data As a multiconsole owner myself, my 360 gets all the use, my ps3 sites and collects dust until an exclusive is released, which i rent, beat, and never play again. My wii also collecting dust until Zelda comes out. so far you haven't got a single point about why 360 is not worth getting at this point. The hardware? shotty at best
The games? you could make an argument with that back cataloug, but you could also make a solid one for the PS3 that way, and an even more solid one if you look at the upcoming PS3 titles
The online? The best argument for that $60 a year is party chat? I can get another game and play that online with my PS3 for that cash
I'm a multi-console owner myself, but the last 360 game I picked up was Rock Band 3...and thats only because I've invested far too much into that platform to change it to the PS3. what is there on the horizion besides gears to make a prospective buyer want the Xbox?darkspineslayer
i dont know if my 360 bricks im just holding out for ngp and wii 2 ,, as i already started my next gen with 3ds i dont see how any one will coninue to buy 360 , ,
in 2-3 yrs itll be replaced then youll regret doing so
xx
I own all three but still play my Xbox 360 more. Keeping in touch with old high school friends and family is worth 60USD/y for me. As for the bad hardwear I've had two xbox's break on me and replaced for free. I'm on my 3rd since 07ish and no problems. I've had two PS3's a fat one that got ylod and sony didn't fix that for free so yeah.
Cheaper and the wide selection of XBLA games are good enough as well.[QUOTE="i3DS"][QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]Halo, Gears, cross-game chat. I guess that's enough for a lot of people out there.darkspineslayer
Lets be honest, the only SKU any of us would go for that is being produced now is the one that comes with the 250GB hard drive. don't use cheaper as an excuse unless you think you would live with 4GBs.
And how much of that wide selection of XBLA games is actualy multiplatform? quite a bit
top end 360 is 50 quid cheaper than a bottom end Ps3 here in blighty, and the 360 has LOADS of exclusive XBLA titles. On topic, you can't get Halo or gears or left4dead on any other console, more than enough reason for me to own a 360[QUOTE="AncientDozer"][QUOTE="fastr"]Same reasons as always, Better game catalog, better online, better controller, no need to install every single damn thing you want to play, cheaper. I've enjoyed every PS3 game that I've played so far, same for the 360. But I honestly don't think that PS3 exclusives are really worth the ridicules amount of praise that fan-boys give them. For example: my 11 year old step son has had a PS3/360 for the past couple of years he also has 5 best friends that he chums with at school all the time, all of them own both consoles and all they play is CoD on the 360! Also, when they're not playing CoD they're just chilling with each other over XBL party chat most times. My point is..none of them are playing KZ3! Or anything else on the PS3 for that matter. I've asked him why and he said that they're just not interested. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to spell out "doom and gloom" for the PS3 here, after all..this is only 6 kids, but it still kind of makes a person wonder..are PS3 exclusives really that good when compared to everything else? And is PSN really as good as XBL? Just a thought.

Pretty much.

I was actually told by a user here that this very reason was merely an "excuse" to justify that I was being milked for $60 /year, (even though I've never shelled out more than $50), but leave it to the SW user to look deep within your soul and flush out the "truth".
But to the question at hand, I'd say if you've never checked out any 360 exclusive over the life of the console than one would have more than enough games to occupy them. Gears, Forza, Fables 2 & 3, Alan Wake, and of course Halo. Not to mention the wide variety of XBLA games on hand. But these preferences will obviously vary from person to person.
who knows. Not only do multiplats offer more on the ps3 but the ps3 has exclusives coming out of its ***campzoryea , lately its been ps3 getting the up side of content.. like LA Noire with extra missions , and mortal kombat getting kratos. but xbox getting nothing. It used to be the other way around , what's going on with microsoft? Do they just not care anymore?
I think the 360 is a good investment if you don't have any other platforms to play on. Even a 360 paired up with a Wii would be good, but if you have a gaming PC and/or a PS3 then the 360 is all but useless.
It has a great library, but when you are a multiplatform owner the 360 has very little to offer. As of this point I havent purchased a 360 game this year and the only definite buy coming up is Forza 4.

Why would you go with any console at this late stage in their lives, the technology is obsolete now, the games are nothing we havnt seen before and new stuff will be coming out soon.
Then again, maybe you havnt played a particular console yet and have a huge backlog of games to enjoy.
who knows. Not only do multiplats offer more on the ps3 but the ps3 has exclusives coming out of its ***campzorI don't know what's more pathetic, the comment or the sig. Also, maybe you forgot about all the multiplats the last years that got extra stuff on the 360 and also ran/looked better.

Halo
Fable
Forza
PGR
Allan Wake
Too Human
Kameo
Viva Pinata
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Crackdown
Project: Kingdoms
Dance Central
Kinectimals
All I could come up with off the top of my head atm but the question is, whats the difference between these exclusive IP's and Sonys..really? Some of the IP's in this list can be considered better than some while others aren't, same can be said about Sony exclusives.
I've also left out a big back log of other IP's/games, ie: GRAW, Bullet Witch, Chromehounds, Dead Rising, Full Auto..etc..etc..I could go on and on, the list of random forgotten 360 exclusive games is really quite astounding. I laugh at the people that say: "why own a 360 when you have a PC/PS3?" because they're obviously ignorant to real facts.
I haven't even mentioned the long list of up-coming Kinect games! Also worth a mention is the large list of backward compatible games that the 360 shares with the original Xbox that some conveniently forget about.
So, why own a PS3 when you have a PC/360? Or a Wii/360? Of course I really don't mean that because I'm a happy PS3 owner myself, I'm just merely trying to point out that those arguments can go the other way as well..and even be more convincingly in favor of the 360 at that.
Are you serious? For someone just getting into this gen the Xbox 360 is clearly the best choice.
1. ENORMOUS game library (retail, dlc, and arcade). The Wii or PS3 can't touch the sheer size of games available.
2. Online. It's not just party chat but larger gaming community. Games have much longer shelf lives. WAY more content available. More apps available. Faster feature development. More secure. Xbox Live destroys PSN and whatever Wii has.
3. Kinect. I personally don't like it but if you want motion controls this is the best choice of the three.
4. Ease of PC compatibility. Most people are just not tech savy, talking to your PC is VERY easy to do with the Xbox 360.
The real question is why would you go with anything else? Blu-ray and ex

Sorry but any game that you want to play online you are crazy NOT to get it for 360. EVERYONE who owns both consoles knows this.
